Both were less than satisfactory, which is a shame because the park itself is beautiful. The furniture in both was dirty and shabby, like discards from a cheap motel. Neither kitchen had enough dishes and silverware for four people and only one had a skillet, and it was filthy. Both houses had bugs. Each porch had only two rocking chairs and in both the screens were sagging and torn. All of the windows were filthy. The state of Georgia could surely find a better concessionaire to manage its lodging in this beautiful location.

They have spots along the water, and many more a stones throw away. The nicest spot seemed to be #1. It was close to a boat ramp yet it was private. We stayed in the villas. Dogs are welcome in in this spot of the resort. The fee for pets was the most reasonable I've ever seen. First pet is free them 25 for each additional. The room was very nice. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing I would say that needed to be changed was the tv. The grounds were in serious need of water but the 2 pools were nice. Nothing fancy but a great place to cool off. Our room was facing the lake with a screened in porch. We sat out there after the sun went down and watch the lightning from the approaching storm. There was plenty to do also. Rent a jet ski, go fishing, or a nice hike on a trail. There were cabins also for rent or one could stay in the lodge itself. I would highly recommend going when gnat season is over. Those little bugs can ruin anything. We will go back when the weather cools down and this time bring the rv!!

Horrible experience…read more Before I even got checked in I asked to check in early and was told no. I just traveled for 23 hours to get here and wanted to at least shower and refresh before seeing family and they said no. I had to wait hours for them to check me in and no complimentary room for refreshing. First with the room, the water was turned off the day we came in. I called the front desk and the girl was completely un empathetic and acted like it was a bore to help me. Then, the TV is completely horrible with every channel pretty much looking scrambled. When I called the front desk, they said that's how the tvs are. Third, I saw multiple spiders on and in the bed and was able to take a photo of one of them on the wall. Luckily I had a slipper to swat them. Fourth, there was a light out in the room and I never even called the front desk because there was no point. The restaurant there was completely ridiculous with service and food quality but that's a different review. Lastly, I asked to print some things out for traveling back home and make copies and low and behold, they don't have a business center or even a computer or copier to use. For the money and the fact that this is supposed to be a "premier resort" they have no resort amenities, not even a fitness center, no business center, no complimentary check in or check out room, no complimentary breakfast or any complimentary activities for us to do. Oh, I also didn't mention the people being loud as anything next door and underneath smoking illegal substances, but by the 2nd night we were there the only reason we didn't leave early was because I had no time to check out since we were pretty much only there to sleep. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Five of us gathered for a conversion and a meal. And yet, the service was slow, painfully slow, and mistakes were made in how food was served and what was delivered. The food was neither great nor bad. It was tasty, but nothing special. For what you get, it was high priced, although the ambience and the beauty of the surroundings and the lake was gorgeous. It's hard for us to realize how -- when we are the only customers for the first hour that we were there, and then only one other table seated -- that we had a hard time getting water, and glasses of wine properly, and getting our meals at the same time and served properly.

(However, completely understandable to not waste water if there isn't enough expected participation.) Lovely pier onto the lake. Quite, pretty, peaceful. We have not stayed at the campgrounds. However, the motel rooms need... lets say they need TLC. Like, stat.

This review relates to campground : Little Ocmulgee State Park is as most of Georgia Parks is…read morebetter than surrounding states. However recent changes and events have made them way too expensive. The State has contracted the management of these parks to corporate entities. The fee's for sites is rapidly approaching forty dollars per night and in many cases such as Veterans S P do not even offer full service sites. While Ocmulgee does have a few full service sites, all sites are the same price. Why should a tent site pay the same as full service 50 amp site. Most of the land that these parks occupy was either given to the state or purchased by the state with taxpayer funds for the enjoyment and recreation of all the people. Corporate managers have a different mentality, they are about profit and not service to the public. Our state politicians have sold us out! What possible justification could there be for a family to have to pay in excess of $100 to camp for the weekend. Federal camping activities offer better facilities with full service hookups for less than $60 per weekend and less for tent site, why can't the state do that? They Could, but again they have sold us out! The state will offer that they can get the private sector to run the parks cheaper than they can, that's Bs, at who's expense, the people of course. I have been a volunteer at Georgia Parks for many years, and I know that the parks could be run by a minimal staff of three or four and volunteers, however there would be no kickback for politicians. Ask politicians like Pruitt State Representative, (R-GA) why they are using the host sites at the taxpayers expense. Now, to the park, most sites are great, they have cable tv, tables, fire pit , water and 30-50amp . Some pull thru sites. Wake up real Friends of Georgia Parks, take back your parks.

Check in was a breeze as there was no line. The breakfast was what you would expect at this price point. It was a hot breakfast, but not the best quality. Parking is free onsite and there were enough spots so you could park close. While our room was small, it had everything we needed and was clean. There was an iron, hair dryer, the bathroom was decent sized and the water pressure was good. The bed was decently comfortable and the TV was a good size. The wifi and A/C were strong and the staff super friendly. There is only one ice machine on the main floor and it was running close to empty in the morning.
