DO NOT use Avi's Appliance repair. Here's why. In late November, my fridge stopped working. It wouldn't keep anything cool or frozen. Spoke with a friend to see if he knew a good appliance repair company. He gave me the number for Avi's Appliance Repair. I contacted him and he came the next day to check it out. Nov 21st, 2024. He install a couple parts. I paid him $306.20 for a diagnostic/parts/labor. I called him the next day as the fridge still wasn't working. He returned Nov 25th, 2024 to check the fridge, installed additional parts and I paid him a total of $195.67 for the parts/labor. The next day I called him back to tell him the fridge still wasn't working. He told me to wait a day or two for the fridge to get cold. This didn't happen. He came back a couple days later and told us we needed a new compressor. It was covered by a ten warranty from Samsung. I called Samsung and they said I had to pay for the replacement and then they would refund my money. Avi ordered the compressor on a 22-day rush order, and I transferred him $433.27 for the part. That was on Dec 2nd, 2024. Due to the postal strike, I assumed this would be delayed. As of today, I still have not received the part. After multiple texts with Avi, he keeps telling me he is having trouble with his supplier getting the compressor. He said he could get me a refund if I would prefer. I asked him for the Purchase Order number and/or a copy of the confirmation email so I could contact the supplier directly, he said the supplier wouldn't give me any info. He just needed more time, and he would get me a refund. This was May 12th. After nine more texts since that day asking for my refund, he hasn't responded to me once. After almost a year, I'm out just shy of a $1000 bucks and the bill of a new fridge. No quality, no value, just got ripped off. Tim P. read more

I paid him $850 to repair my Samsung oven that is about 1 year old for parts and labour. This guy was texting and calling me for more than 10 times to e transfer the money, once I did I did not hear from him again. He promised that the parts will arrive in 3 days but 3 days turned to 3 weeks, I fed up because he does not pick my call and no more text. I demanded for refund. He reply by text that the refund will be done within 3 to 5 days. This guy is a looser, he must be on drugs. Do not use AVI Appliance Services. Buyer Beware read more

I had used Avi in the past and he WAS good. Now I have to deal with last minute cancelations, made up excuses why he could not make it and now I have been ghosted. What are you, 14 years old, grow a pair. read more

Dear Future Customers: Our refrigerator quit working early Saturday morning. My husband found out the part stores were not open till Monday. He started calling around to appliance repairman. Four repair companies said they couldn't come out till Monday! Troubleshooting and found out what part was needed. Hooray for google. We called Avi at 10 am. He was here with the available refrigerator part by 1pm! We thought Avi was reasonably priced. It was much cheaper than replacing all the food in the fridge & freezer! Avi was knowledgeable, very polite, pleasant person. After the fridge was back in place Avi suggested we vacuum under the fridge and the coils on a regular basis. This is to prevent dust buildup and to prevent the fridge from working so hard. We would highly recommend Avi's Appliance Service Ltd to everyone. I received an email from a Property Management company that a microwave door (in my renting property) is broken and they called Avi's for that. Almost a month later I received another email from the company that it is cheaper to replace the microwave ($390.00+ gst) than to replace the door(no estimation for that). The Property Management company told me that they tried to call Avi's several times (about what happened to the microwave and to get and an estimation for the repair) and nobody would return their calls. Finally after almost 1.5 months I received (from The Property Management company) "Details of Charges" from Avi's ($78.75) in which was said that the microwave door is broken (we knew that from tenant 1.5 month ago, right??!!) and they advice to replace it. After that, I called "Reliable parts", ordered a new door for $117.00+gst, two weeks later I received it and installed it (it was easy - I just had to slide it in). I still do not know why I had to pay Avi's? No, I would not recommend this company. read more

Called Avi and he booked me for the next day. Called before he came which was the start of the window he promised. Helped me move the old stove out to the garage and bring the new one in and installed it. When I mentioned that I would get him back for the portable dishwasher, he took a look and fixed the plug while he was here at the same cost. Charged me for one hour but I'm sure he was here much longer. Highly highly recommend him (never met or used him before) for price, reliability, and workmanship. This gentleman came out on Good Friday to check my fridge. He was so helpful & gave me quotes to fix my LG. It needed a new motherboard. He told me to find out if it had been recalled as it would save me a lot of money. For his time, I believe he quoted me about $105. As for that visit to look at my fridge, he charged me nothing. Although I decided to get a new refridgerator, I still considered him a kind hearted man & honest. I am going to refer him to all my family & friends as in my lifetime, people like this are hard to find. Thank You Avi! read more
