Fewer than 15 hours before pickup, and only after 5:00 p.m., we received a call saying the type of vehicle we reserved would not be available. Even more concerning, they could not tell us what vehicles would be available the next day. There was no meaningful apology, no attempt to solve the problem, and no practical assistance offered. We were simply left to scramble at the last minute during an already difficult family situation. I get that people may not bring vehicles back or other things outside of the company or branch's control, but offer a free tank a gas or a discount or something right off the bat to lessen the failure. Find common ground. It was a terrible and gut wrenching experience knowing that we were going to have to solve this ourselves with a creative solution because this employee had no sense of customer support or the branch didn't empower him to solve problems. He just kept talking and talking without actually saying or offering anything helpful. If there is a potential issue with a reservation, customers should be contacted during regular business hours, while other options are still available. Waiting until after other Lawrence rental options have closed is not just inconvenient; it is deeply unprofessional and inconsiderate. A reservation made weeks in advance should mean something. In this case, it did not. Buyer beware; their word is meaningless and their customer support is absent. Thank goodness for Avis on 23rd St.

We were dropping off in Texas and I think they were trying to send a damaged car. The agent spent a long time with my 26 year old daughter going over all the current damage. OUR MISTAKE - we didn't ask for the report - ALWAYS ASK and TAKE YOUR OWN PICTURES before you drive away. When we returned it in Texas the agent there could not pull up the computer at all. She noted hail damage to the roof (like 3 tiny dents) and damage that was there when we picked up. She told us to go into the Lawrence location when we returned to make sure all was ok. We did that. They told us everything was good and we didn't need to do anything else. 2 months later we got a bill for over $2,000 in damages! I tried to dispute the damages - but you never talk to the same person and they always said, you will need to talk to "this guy". They passed the buck from the bottom to the top. We asked for the reports on the car before and after. We only recieved the report after - NOTHING from before. The claims department said that there was NO damage to the car when we picked up!!! BOLD FACE LIE!!! Whats worse is there is absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY on Enterprises part. They can tell any lie they want and you have NO say because they know that it will cost more to get an attorney than it will to pay your deductable. Also, we were told that it is protocol for the receiving rental company to list in detail the damage and include their own pictures. This was not done, the pictures were from a body shop. Too many players not doing their job then trying to cover their own butts by passing this off on us. I will NEVER rent from Enterprise again - If I ever rent at all. I have never had any issues renting cars in the past. And after reading all these reviews, I'm not sure how they are still in business. Don't bother leaving a scripted reply about how "you need more information about this so you can look into it"! You clearly have no intention of correcting any of the complaints made here. Just a crappy business that takes advantage of it's customers.

I stopped by on a cold Sunday night in December and was looking at vans after they closed, or so I thought. One of the salesmen was still there and came out to talk to me. I had found a nice Sienna I was eyeballing. Now, back then the prices were on the vehicles, so I knew how much it cost. The salesman let me take it for a ride, then, he tossed me the keys again and said, "why don't you just take it back to KC tonight and see what you think. Bring it back tomorrow and we'll talk." So I did just that. Now, this is a place that specializes in bad credit financing, which I certainly had (have?). That means you can't be too choosey on interest rates, etc. I got hit with a high rate, but I was over a barrel needing a car now and with no money down. They worked out a monthly payment that I could live with and let me post date a check for the $500 down-payment. It's been almost 5 years and the van has been great with very little money put into it so far (knock, knock). Also, for what it's worth, I called them recently asking about certain cars I'd seen on the website and I got pricing over the phone.

I'd be booking out cars to purchase for our lot and I'd flag the ones with frame damage or other major issues, and Lonnie would tell me "it's fine" "who cares what they drive as long as I get paid". I quit one time and Lonnie told me to sit my ass down, shut the fuck up, and book out cars. There are about 100 other stories I could tell of the HORRORS of Academy Cars. I quit on a dime as soon as the dealership sale went south in December of 2019. lord help the folks that purchased here. I tired to make it better, but it was a swamp that even I couldn't fix. I am sorry yall.

First off, the ride arrived 30-35 minutes late, and as we got in we were greeted by a musty smell. This specific limo can seat 16 but as seven of us piled in we realized it how warm it was inside. It was about 95 degrees outside and probably 80+ degrees inside the limo-- the air was on high but only half the vents blew air and the air being blown out was not cold. After complaining for awhile, Larry tells us if we do not travel long distances then the air conditioner does not work properly. The air was the most frustrating part of the day, especially with the price being paid for the ride but the limo was in extremely poor condition and not clean. Larry is a decent guy, but the limo was lacking and in embarrassing condition.

When I got it back I was super happy because it took about 3 weeks and I needed it back. But immediately after I noticed a lot of HUGE issues, car wouldn't accelerate, wouldn't turn off, wouldn't lock or go into park. I had to get it towed in, and they said they'd take a look at it. The receptionist woman was very unfriendly on the phone and in person, which was shocking because most of their other staff seem very polite. When they had it they said they'd fix it in the next week and it took them about 3 more weeks to get it back to me. Then finally I get it back for the second time, and my door dont open from the outside. I emailed them and told them about this issue and I was not rude or anything but I felt like the email I received back was very unfriendly. When I told them about this they told me not to take it to them if I cant trust them with my vehicle, which seems redundant since they are the reason I dont trust them, when I obviously trusted them enough to bring it there and to give them the opportunity to fix whatever mistake was made. I am a young woman and honestly felt a little taken advantage of and or not taken seriously whatsoever. I also received a couple voicemails saying essentially they didn't know what they were doing and they'd never worked on this type of car before (Hyundai Sonata), so Im not sure what "trust" they expect when they treat their costumers like this. They seem to lack a lot of basic costumer service skills and knowledge. They deal with a huge part of peoples lives (their vehicle) and people are bound to be frustrated when stuff is wrong with their car, so if they dont know how to deal with that they just shouldn't.
