The principle is very involved, as are the other members on staff. Fishers has a wide variety of clubs and sports, and many tsudents are in at least one club and/or sport. A whopping 7000 6-8th graders attend the school. There is a greater than 98% graduation rate. The school is large with athletic fields, playgrounds and wetland/pond outside. The grounds are pristine. We were not allowed inside because of Covid restrictions. Kids are escorted in and out with masks still required. Our granddaughter attended summer camp here.

I've heard good things about the academics there. And the band program is great. Athletics have not been exceptionally strong over the years, but they do have certain players and teams that have done great things. Surprised that this is one of the few schools that hasn't gotten major renovations in the past few years seems as if a number of areas have been ignored while almost every other school in the greater Indianapolis area has been able to invest heavily in renovations and updates, it seems as if Perry Meridian has spent their money differently.

The senior night area was thoughtfully set up and easy to see, which made the celebration feel special which is good for their students. Concessions were available, and there's a spacious parking lot, so getting in and out was simple. The atmosphere was lively, their school band was present. Our team ended up winning, which makes it much more of a better night. They provided a good venue for an exciting game.

This venue was easy to find and had ample parking spots. Cash and card was accepted for admission and concessions, which were comparable to the cost of other high school basketball games. The gym was spacious with plenty of seating and scoreboards on both sides. It was very cold in the visitor bleachers since they're right next to the door. I did appreciate that they offered TGI Friday's potato skin chips, something you don't see at most schools and it brought back memories.

Our Experience We enrolled our children after being told the…read moreschool offered open communication, an open-door policy, and a safe, supportive environment. Over time, our experience did not align with what was promised. Despite multiple conversations and meetings, concerns around supervision, communication, professionalism, and follow-through continued to escalate. The final incident where our child felt unsafe and was punished for reaching out to us led us to withdraw our children. The concerns below reflect what we personally observed and experienced. Key Concerns Based on Our Family's Experience Lack of Communication & Defensiveness: Although open communication was promised (including texting staff), messages were often delayed, ignored, or met with defensiveness rather than collaboration when concerns were raised. Concerns Dismissed or Deflected: When we raised issues based on what our children shared, staff responses often made it seem like our children were overreacting or mistaken, which eroded trust. Academic Instruction: Our child spent a significant amount of time on computer-based programs (such as IXL) for math and language arts, with limited direct teaching. She was expected to watch videos and largely self-teach before asking for help. Bullying Concerns Denied Despite Specific Reports: We reported bullying concerns multiple times, including identifying a specific child involved. These concerns were consistently denied or dismissed, despite the school stating it has a zero-tolerance bullying policy. Children Sent Home Dehydrated: During hot months, our children came home dehydrated. We were told children are expected to "speak up" and ask for water. Given the age range (approximately 2-5 years old), this expectation felt unrealistic and concerning. Age-Inappropriate Expectations of Independence: While independence was emphasized, expectations around hygiene, hydration, and self-advocacy did not feel developmentally appropriate for children as young as 2-5. Hygiene & Toddler Care Concerns: Our youngest child (2, soon to be 3) repeatedly came home with rashes in her private area. We were told children wipe themselves and staff "assist as needed," but ongoing issues were never clearly explained or resolved. Children Involved in Adult Issues: Instead of addressing concerns directly with parents, teachers made comments to our children during pickup such as, "Hurry up, your father is upset you're not ready," placing unnecessary emotional stress on them. Unprofessional Language: A teacher used vulgar language in front of children. When this was raised with leadership, it was minimized by stating it did not happen "all the time." Supervision Red Flags Observed Firsthand: On the day we withdrew our children, the front door was locked and opened by a child. Inside, several teachers were standing together talking while students were not actively supervised in classrooms. Extreme Cold Weather & Lack of Supervision: During an Indiana extreme cold weather advisory, we requested our child not participate in outdoor play. Our child, who stayed inside, was left alone in a classroom and felt unsafe. Punishment for Reaching Out for Help: Our daughter contacted us because she felt unsafe. She was later punished, placed in timeout, told her actions were unacceptable, and told she should have "spoken up" instead of contacting her parents. Authority figures were used in a way that caused fear rather than support. Responsibility Placed on Children: The school repeatedly emphasized that children should advocate for themselves. Parents should be aware that quieter, well-mannered children may struggle in an environment where responsibility is placed on the child instead of proactive adult supervision. Blocking Parent Feedback: After we withdrew our children, we were blocked from Google reviews were disabled, limiting parents' ability to share experiences publicly.

We were there for a soccer event and got to experience some of the parents engaging with students which was helpful. It was a well run event with great concessions and lots of seating for those attending. I'd go back for future events and would love to find out more about their academic record.

A lot of teachers discriminate based on how popular or rich you are, and again, the principal and dean are the same. The athletic director stole 40k for sports betting, the previous superintendent was fired and replaced with... the dean!? And a long year after, with no attempts at actually finding a man or woman smart enough to hold the position. Do NOT send your kids here, and if you are a decent person please, do not risk working here either. If you aren't rich, you aren't popular here. There is no true authority here. many male teachers get too comfortable with the female students and to stupid with the boys. Almost all the decent people have left. I've heard that the principal doesn't show up half of the time... especially when she's needed during lunch detentions. The Bible teachers here are not good, minus one. One thinks he is "cool" but treats people very poorly simply because he does not like them. The other has a loud mouth, a short step, and is stuck up as he often tries to make himself look good around the students. Don't risk even driving onto the school property unless you're there to save the three or four honest and respectful teachers. Does this sound like a God-fearing, faith based safe space for your children?? Do Christian's go around flaunting their bodies, objectifying their girlfriends, or bullying others to the extreme? I am extremely disappointed and my heart has a heavy burden for those who have and are being negatively affected by this school. I highly do not recommend ever going here, ever.
