One minute it's nice and empty and the next thing you're wondering if you're going to trip on your neighbors step while trying to spin around and keep up, lol. The instructor (Darian) gives a quick review in the beginning for new class takers but once the lights go out it's time to get down to business. The class is 45 minutes of high energy, great dancing music, and a million squats to get your booty nice and right for life. It is loud in the class with the music and instructor yelling over the mic, but I promise you once you get through your first class you'll be ready to come back for more. The high cardio workout is one of the best ones I've come across in a long time. You can buy a member ship with the Y and class is included or pay $20/class for drop ins......either way it's worth it.

First the website can be a bit weird and if you are getting day passes and it keeps saying its 'timing out' you need to make a Plainfield recs account first and it stops being weird. On my visit i purchased tickets/admission on the website because i could not tell if i could get in on location or not. Once we got thru the check in process we went to see the indoor pools first.... Well they were closed. OK... Went outside and its pretty expansive and clean. One of the non-tube slides was down as well as looks like 1/3rd of the exterior swimming items were down for what looked like cleaning since i saw staff working on it. From the maps view basically the huge lazy river side. As a non-resident the pricing i feel was a good value for goofing off in the water for roughly 3 hours. Onsite food isn't anything to rave about but at least it is available and it was not crazy prices. Tons of life guards doing an awesome job from what i could tell while watching the people watching the rest of us so i felt super safe and confortable they were keeping an eye on all the kids. I didnt grab any photos because i dont really like publishing anything with people in it. I walked in and was blown away by the size of this location (twice the size of the other lol location I have been too). Clean and bright with an open reception area, lockers, three showers, and a blow-dry station - it is setup for you to easily head to work after your workout. Orange theory is a zone based workout and good for all fitness levels. When you arrive, you will borrow or buy their heart rate monitor. The monitor connects with the OTF system and displays your heart rate, zone, calories burned and the "splat points" - which are basically the top two heart rate zones. Worried people are looking at your numbers? They are not. If they are, they got ripped off because you are working hard enough in these classes that you won't have time to look over the other numbers on that screen! I have knee issues and use alternatives for many parts of class, coaches are great about that. Rowers, treadmills, free weights, bosu, TRX, etc. I burn 400-600 calories in every class I have attended. Coach Erin was great. I have also taken class from Coach Lauren, as she teaches in Bloomington too - she is the best! Give it a try! First workout is free.
