Prices are a joke. I understand this is a tourist area and one of the higher income communities...but their prices on allocated items are ridiculous. Very good liquor store, and that's a tough category to impress people. Well organized. The cashier staff were some pretty young guys - probably not experts in California reds. The place was laid out so we didn't necessarily need help, but in the wine area, a really helpful older gentleman helped us pick out a great reasonably priced Pinot noir at maybe $22-23. Very pleasant experience. Interesting, varied selection at multiple price points. Just a very few of those little signs under various wines (you know, like: 89 points Wine Spectator, intense cherry and cassis with a forward palate, drink now through 2019) - but their selection was good quality and we've had or recognized many of the options on the shelf and they were all solid in the Pinot Noir section where we focused. It gave us extra confidence in the recommendation we took on a wine we hadn't tried before. It was lovely. Super beer collection too. If we hadn't had a long hot car ride the next day, I'd have grabbed a bunch of six-packs of very cool sounding local brews. read more

The worst small town liquor store I've been. Bought blunt cigarillos and when I returned home they were all broken , cold and broken in my hand. Spoke with some stupid owner who doesn't even carry himself like a owner , just look nasty. What a disgrace!! Attire is important. He's gonna let me know I should go in my bin look for the broken cigarillos and tobacco and bring it back. Wtf!!! Is this guy crazy! Haha. Wouldn't recommend! The other day I got off night shift and went in at 9:20, they open at 9. He said he didn't have his cash drawer open yet because it was too early. Sommelier on staff during peak times and you can get it all from Boone's Farm to $8000 Grand Cru. Too cool for school and can barely be bothered to answer a question. It's not just the worst service at a liquor store. It's really the worst service of any business in this valley. I was in Avon for a family trip in July and down the street from our hotel was Avon Liquors. The last night of our trip we walked in and were pleasantly surprised. Not only did they have a pretty good beer selection, they also had an excellent wine selection. If we had found it sooner, we would have utilized their wine tastings. I'd typically not bother writing a review abut a liquor store bc what's the point. They sell booze. Got it. However, this place most definitely deserves a shout out. These guys know their booze. They hooked me up with a 1st batch spiced whiskey from 38 North that was unreal. A little hot water and a squeeze of lemon and you've got the perfect hot toddy. On top of that, they had a secret stash of a beer that shall go unnamed as it's incredibly hard to find. If you find yourself in the Vail area this place is a must. Booze, booze and more booze. Kevin knows wines extremely well, and the staff all seem to be knowledgeable. There are wine and beer tastings each week and a system where points are accumulated and redeemable.
