There was a group of 21 of us that attended the Avon Players Playhouse and we saw "Lend Me a Tenor". We had seats in Rows C, D and E and were close enough to see all the action. The performers were really talented and the show was very entertaining. It is a small theater so I'm sure all of the seats are good. The seats are not much more than folding chairs with padded seating, so they weren't the most comfortable, but they served their purpose. They had a few food items for sale, but I didn't buy any so I can't address the quality of the selection. I also did not use the restrooms so I can't comment on that either. The parking was directed by some young men so that it wasn't chaotic and the flow into the parking lot was smooth. Since this is a small theater, there wasn't much traffic getting out either and that went pretty smooth. I would definitely attend another event at this venue. read more

Came here on a whim and needed something to do on a Saturday night. Bought our tickets online which was easy to do but I felt for a community playhouse the ticket price was a touch high ($18.00 a tickets). We printed our tickets at home. Got to the playhouse 20 minutes before and there were workers directing cars where to park. Parking is a dirt lot. The lobby is very 90's, bathrooms are to the sides, and in the middle is the snack bar. One worker was selling 50-50 raffle tickets. We entered the stage area and I was very impressed with the beautiful wood ceiling and pitch roof. However, the seats were terrible, so uncomfortable! They are folding chairs with a little bit of padding and arm rests. After the first 40 minutes sitting - my back was killing me. Throughout the performance I could hear chair squeaking with people adjusting themselves to get comfortable. If the chairs were more comfortable - I think I would have enjoyed myself better. The theater seats 220 and if you want a tour of the place after the play - ask a worker and they will be happy to give one. Obviously, this is not a professional production or cast but I was impressed with the light, sound, and set. The acting was fine - I think the play we saw "Wait Until Dark" allowed for overacting to happen more than normal. I will say for a two hour play - I could tell the actors put a lot of work into their production. After the show ended we were not sure about how the 50-50 tickets would work. We then noticed a hand written sign with the winning number. I was a little disappointed that the workers weren't wishing the patrons a goodnight and thanks for coming out. Everyone just shuffled out of the building and that was it. Will I come back? Maybe, I think depending on the play I will. But maybe I can bring my own chair next time. read more

I love this playhouse. Mama Mia last night was spectacular!!! Such talent can be found here! Not a bad note was sung, and if you get involved in a production the place really makes you feel like family! I was a part of a musical last year and now I love returning to support friends and be fully entertained. We are very lucky to have such a place in our community. I recommend all to attend for a different night out and bring the kids if the show is kid-friendly! We brought a 11,12 and 14 year old for Mama Mia and they all LOVED IT. In fact watching the movie now haha. The Jr show is in the summer also, and is a spectacular opportunity for anyone under 18. read more

I'm an out of towner, and was so happy that my friends had bought tickets for the Forever Christmas show here! Be prepared to have to park in the grass if the parking lot gets full, don't worry, there is plenty of space! I was really excited about coming into this building when I first saw it because the structure is triangles and I was just curious about how it would look like inside. It was pretty neat! I had arrived just a bit before the show was about to start, so I didn't get to explore much as I didn't want to miss any of the show. Inside was really nice, and the decorations that they had were very classic. The chairs are fold-able, but these were the coolest fold-able chairs I have seen! The cushions on the seat were just right, and they even have arm rests. ARM RESTS ON FOLD-ABLE CHAIRS!!! Amazing. Now the play itself was really nice and definitely put me into the holiday spirit. It was a lot of singing for this show, but I'm glad they added scenes in-between as well. It was a good breaker between songs. The talent was excellent, and I loved the humor during the scenes. I don't know if it was because I'm from the South, but I was really cold while inside watching the show. I guess I'm not up to Michigander level yet to handle the cold. All in all, if you're a local, you should support this place and check out a show! read more

We are a group of four with season tickets for the past several years. We have seen some wonderful plays and the Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of those. It was so entertaining that we didn't think any other play could come close to it but today we saw Mama Mia and were blown away. The performance was nothing shy of spectacular!! Many thanks to the performers who through their love of the art made so many people so happy. Mama Mia is being performed three more times (next week) and if you can get tickets, I would highly recommend that you do so. You will not regret it. We absolutely LOVED it!! read more

Very Talented group of community actors. Unfortunately, the seats were horribly uncomfortable. They were all well worn folding chairs. The seat discomfort seemed to be the talk of most of those attending. Would not attend again unless they upgraded their very old seats. read more

A true gem for the city of Rochester! I have seen many shows here and all of which have been professional quality at a very low price. Great night out of you like live theater.
