Proceeds from this thrift store support Avow, a nonprofit healthcare organization. According to their website they provide "hospice care, non-hospice palliative care, and grief and loss support. We serve people of all ages, from infants to the most senior of citizens." Avow was founded in 1983 by volunteers and community members as Collier county's first hospice. They began offering services in 2003 and are now one of the largest hospices in the US. Avow has two thrift stores, this one on Davis Blvd and another one on Tamiami Trail N. This location has three large rooms filled with gently used furniture, clothing, accessories, books, household goods, home décor, electronics, and small appliances. The store is set up like a boutique. Everything is attractively arranged and clearly priced. If you are on a thrifting trip around Naples, definitely add this worthy organization to your list. read more

As a recent transplant to Marco Island, and with a new home to furnish, I was eager to visit Avow Treasures Thrift Shop, particularly after receiving strong recommendations from my staff regarding their mission, the professionalism of the volunteers, and the quality of their high-end furniture. In July 2024, I relocated my practice to Naples, where I serve as a Palliative Care physician at a local hospital network, bringing over a decade of experience from my previous practice on Long Island, New York. Unfortunately, my experience at the shop was profoundly disappointing and has led me to reconsider my support for this organization. I have also felt compelled to report a member of their staff to both the management of Avow Treasures and our hospital's hospice care community outreach personnel. While browsing on August 13th 2024 around 1pm, I inadvertently entered what I later learned was an off-limits work area. This work area is adjacent to a room where artwork is displayed for sale and is nearly indistinguishable from the sales floor. Almost immediately, I was confronted by a thin, middle-aged blonde woman in a form-fitting blue denim dress and glasses--she was, quite frankly, a battleax with a bad attitude--who yelled, "You Are Not Allowed In Here," and proceeded to glare at me with an aggressive and hostile demeanor and made gestures as to "shoo" me from the area as though I was some sort of illegal trespasser in a high-security zone at Ft Knox. Her actions were startling, particularly given that this is a volunteer-run thrift shop dedicated to supporting hospice care, not a restricted area that warrants such extreme measures. The disparity in behavior was further underscored by another volunteer, who appeared visibly uncomfortable with her colleague's conduct and maintained a professional and composed manner and made several apologies for her volunteer colleague's behavior. I was fully prepared to purchase several hundred dollars' worth of excellent condition high-end furniture, but the hostility I encountered led me to leave the store abruptly, feeling that my money would be better spent elsewhere based solely on the manner in which I was treated by this volunteer. Upon returning to my practice, I informed my staff of the incident and subsequently filed a report with the Hospice Care Outreach Manager Social Worker at my hospital. They intend to contact the management of Avow Treasures to address the unacceptable treatment I received. Moreover, I must express my concern that racial bias may have played a role in this encounter, as the volunteer appeared particularly disturbed that a middle-aged man of color had crossed into her designated work area. This experience has left me with no choice but to withhold my recommendation for supporting this organization and take further steps to address the demeanor and actions of this staff member with leadership at my organization. The behavior I witnessed is not only incongruent with the mission of Avow Treasures but also reflects a troubling disregard for basic respect and decency. I strongly urge the management to address these issues to ensure that their volunteers embody the values of compassion and dignity that are fundamental to their cause. read more

I have tried twice to shop here. Both times, they closed and locked the doors earlier than their posted closing time. Won't attempt again.

Rude!! They close at four. I didn't know that and the door was open and there were 8 people waiting in line to pay. The lady yelled" sir we're closed!" I said I've never seen your store and while they check out, can I browse. I won't buy anything. She firmly yelled back while not even being respectful. I didn't get a chance to browse. I never will. Wow what a treasure trove of finds. Top designer names and fabulous prices and it all supports local hospice. Win-win

Furniture, paintings, clothing, china sets and miscellaneous housewares are stocked. Well curated, good parking and service. Reasonably priced. The manager does not negotiate on price but If something doesn't sell in a timely manner, Avow will incrementally discount until it does. If you're bargain hunting this store and Guadalupe Resale farther north are good. Most of the other consignment stores are stocked by sellers who are fishing for gullible buyers. read more

They have good stuff but resale prices are either the same or higher. A simple mirror with a light was being sold for over $20

Don't know what happened to this shop but the prices are now higher than if you went to any retail store and bought an item brand new. The clothing prices are at or above retail and the workers are very rude (not the same nice ladies that were there before) this was always my go to place but I won't be going back. Wonderful upscale thrift shop. Beautiful items for sale, better brands and better merchandise than a lot of thrift shops. Prices are excellent with daily items on sale at 50% off. Great volunteers who are extremely helpful. My son gets a free gift every time we go in, so he loves it. They have clothes, golf clubs, furniture, household items, collectibles. It is quite large and very clean neat. Great location on 41 in North Naples in a strip mall. I love going to this store and it benefits a great cause. read more

Larry B. This is definitely a high end thrift store. The prices are more in line with consignment stores. I have spent several hundred dollars here when my wife and I vacation in the area. The only reason I didn't give it a higher rating is because of the staff. The old gentleman behind the register is in the running for the rudest man in Florida and I think he is winning. After insulting me, he didn't even ask if I needed help loading the expensive I had just purchased. You may ask why I continue to shop here. Like I said, he is old. I keep thinking he want be there the next time. People like him should be making better plans for what comes after this live. Check your feelings at the door and all will be well read more
