I went in with a 102 fever and difficulty holding urine. I told them I was a nursing student at the…read moretime and that I needed to break the fever so I can do clinicals. They told me I was "over exaggerating". They wouldn't give me any meds and told me not to "over react" and sent me home. The next day I woke up with a 104.6 fever. I was delirious. I was beading sweat. I couldn't hold urine. I couldn't eat or drink and I could barely walk. I told my wife "I think I have a UTI I need the hospital now I feel like my body is dying". We get the hospital. They tell me I'm a "frequent flyer". I said I just need a urine test I think it's a UTI. The lady came in and said this is "typical withdrawal" and insisted I was coming off something. They asked to do a drug a test, I said of course. Next thing I know they are trying to force pain pills down my throat as I am having blood work done. I asked what the pills were- they said norco. I said if I'm having a drug test why would I take that? Then as there doing my blood, my body went into a seizure from how sick I was. I came back with a needle stuck In my arm sitting In the chair with the nurse watching me. From there they sent me to a room and left me in there. They did an IV 10 minutes later and then had my urine sample checked. I asked to change the Iv because it was Infiltrated. The nurse came in and yelled at me telling me "you have tattoos you can handle some pain". From there they discharged me 20 Minutes later with no results. Said "check the portal" threw the papers on the bed and left. We left and at 3am the results were loaded to the portal. At this point it's 730am. I have a 105.2 fever and I'm getting much worse. I can barely move. I call my primary. I started crying telling the receptionist what happened. She had me text her the screenshots. I got a phone call three mins later from my doctor. She said I had a life threatening uti. My body was shutting down. She said she was sending me meds and if my fever didn't break within 30-60 mins I needed to go to Christus. Thank god as soon as I got the meds my fever stated dropping. That was the worst experience I ever had and I will never step foot in that place again. They have no idea what patient care is. They treat everyone as if they are drug seeking.

The doctor and his nurse lied to me that they never received the forms from Sun life. Waited around for hours at the doctor's office. Got this resent and got confirmation they received it yesterday. Was told by both it would be completed in faxed that evening... waited and spent hours calling into sun life to check, only to find they never received it... the Dr never sent it... called today and they initiated it would be done, still no response, so again I have driven all the way to their office in marksville and am waiting for the Dr to fill out a 1 page medical leave form... I guarantee after this hell I will not be returning, as obviously this Dr nor his nurse could give two shits about their patients... :/

I went in to get a check up. I just turned 40, and I have kids, and I hadn't been to a doctor in years, so I just wanted to make sure I'm healthy for them going forward. Dr. Fossier ordered some blood tests, which I took in his office. A while later, I got a claim notice from my insurance for West Feliciana Hospital for $721! I never even set foot in their hospital! The hospital is in-network with my insurance, but it is the most expensive lab around, by far! I looked it up, and my insurance expects that out-of-pocket costs for these tests at the 12 closest facilities in my area, excluding this hospital should be minimum $43, maximum $97. Had I known the blood tests would cost this much, I wouldn't have agreed to them. I feel betrayed that Dr. Fossier would send these blood tests to a lab that costs 8 to 15 times more expensive than other labs without a heads up. I called the office but they never called me back! I've submitted an appeal to the hospital noting that I had been charged much more than the $585 expected OOP cost. I didn't have high blood pressure when I went into his office, but I sure do now!

I was translating for a friend with injury and they had a Dr. on staff that spoke spanish! They where very quick on getting exam, xrays and medication as well as keeping us in the loop of what was happening. I had knee replacement surgery and after the surgery my room, I didn't have a button on the bed to…read morecall for help, instead they put a doorbell on my food tray. my name was not on the door, but there was 2 men's names on the door(not my doctors names). the nurse had to come find me. staff told her no one was in that floor. so she just checked to make sure . the male nurse didn't come to my room after i fang the doorbell, so I rang it several more times, he finally came to my room and told me not to press it but only one time. I had to press several more times so he took the ringer off my door. the little black nurse came in to give me pain meds, she went in the wrong direction and blew out my vain. they left me like that for several hours. the male nurse came in a few hours later, I was in pain and my arm was swollen and purple. he called the little black nurse she was mad and came to my room and said some harsh words to me. but left me with my arm swollen and purple. I rang again cause I needed my pain meds. they said I couldn't have more because she gave me some already. I showed them my arm and said it in a bubble in my arm. they finally gave me Tylenol and put my iv in a different place and then gave me pain meds.THIS WAS THE WORST HOSPITAL IVE EVER BEEN IN!!

My mom was a patient of nurse practitioner Lizabeth Hattaway. She was adjusting my mom's medication…read moreand my mom had some rough patches. Anyway Hattaway sent my mom to a place called freedom behavior. They were according to what was told to my mom they would fix her medicine and keep her a few nights about 3 days. When my mom went in immediately she started being mistreated told to strip down and shower and watched while she was showering. She was in a tiny room very cold and asked for a blanket the worker did not give her one. I tried to call my mom 2 times and was told i could not speak to her and when I asked why I was hung up on twice. My aunt finally got my mom out of there and my mom said they never monitored or offered her medicine on top of that there was a male patient in there that kept grabbing her. When my mom had her next appointment with Hattaway my mom explained to her what happened. Hattaway told my mom to shut up and if she did not straighten up she would send her to the mental institution in Shreveport. That is a threat and under patient privacy act you cannot make verbal threats like that . I looked it up. Hattaway kept changing my mom's medicine and my mom went through very difficult times acting out crying etc. My mom has a new doctor now since she has stopped going to Hattaway it is been a complete 180 difference. I know that byrd had a very long and bad rap sheet. Stay away from this place go to cabrini or deridder. If i had a heart attack here in Leesville I would not care if it was more time consuming to go to Alexandria or deridder no way will I roll the dice with byrd hospital or any doctors or nurse practitioners affiliated with this place

We had issues with the fact that they are out of network so the insurance wouldn't cover the insurance, but allowed me to see him just as a patient without insurance and the pay was a lot less. They chatted with me as I was leaving and were happy to help us find our way back to the interstate. High marks.
