How you can improve is by telling your workers in the merchandise tent that when they make a suggestion and recommendation and say they will hold Jan item for you and then doesn't lacks character. She will say she said there was a one hour hold. WHICH SHE NEVER SAID. If she did I could have easily been to my house and back in under fifteen minutes. Anyway, I was a tad furious at the time given her total and complete lack of anything close to resembling humanity. By the way, I was back in about 90 minutes. I grew up watching pro beach volleyball having been raised in Seal Beach, and I have always loved watching these talented players play on the sand. Sadly, the tour doesn't make a stop in Seal Beach anymore. The AVP has now partnered up with the FIVB for the Huntington Beach Open where world class men's and women's pro beach volleyball players gather here north of the pier to compete. The several day competition is filled with fun activities, entertainment and vendor booths besides the several courts of matches. They have main courts set up by the entrance by the pier and center court where the competitive matches are played. The junior players are also playing on the additional courts here. You can watch for free on all the main courts and also on center court or pay for tickets to sit in a VIP area in center court. The main court is a fun place to be over the weekend when the main matches start as the announcer really gets the crowds and players enthused as the last day of play is always televised on NBC. It is very exciting. For a fun day at the beach and the opportunity to see Olympians and elite professional beach volleyball players in action, I would highly recommend checking out the Huntington Beach Open when it comes around or check out avp.com to see the 2018 tour map for the matches scheduled this year. read more

I love professional beach volleyball. And I always love the AVP event at Huntington Beach or anywhere else. But here at the pier it has a special atmosphere. My favorite Olympians are always here, the newcomers that you will be following for years, exciting announcers, enthusiasm of crowds, vendors with goodies...and free! I love it when you can see terrific sports in a great setting at no cost for the cheap seats. You don't get cheaper seats and you don't get a better time. read more

AVP Tournament in HB was an awsome event..but do not buy any tickets, it's free n you get to sit in the shade..we made the mistake of spending money for VIP s tickets..a totally waste of money. .the genius that ran this event decided that let's put shades n seats in the free sections n let's make those who pay for VIP s tickets sit in the sun n stand..BIG MISTAKE our family made..never again!!! read more

First, book your tickets online ahead of time. We saw Devil Wears Prada 2 on a Saturday, over a month after it came out, and the theater was still completely full. I'd recommend grabbing tickets at least a day or two in advance for a weekend showing. Yes, everything is expensive. The tickets, the food, the drinks. But you're in a luxury theater in Newport Beach where someone brings a burger and fries to your seat while you watch a movie, so you kind of know what you're signing up for. And honestly? The burger was delicious and the fries were great. The Aperol spritz was a little flat on flavor though, could have been more sugary/fruity. The bathrooms were clean and well kept, which I always appreciate. My one real complaint is the volume. I get that a big theater needs to fill the room with sound, but it was genuinely too loud. That part I could have done with the volume down a notch or three. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our experience at THE LOT.

The Parking Nightmare: 10-Minute Limits: The main issue here is the parking layout. About 95% of the parking spaces are strictly designated as 10-minute parking, which makes absolutely no sense for a movie theater. The Empty Valet Lot: They have an entire massive section of the lot completely blocked off and closed for a valet service. The kicker? The valet is never even present. It's just a giant, empty, wasted lot sitting right next to the theater for no reason while regular customers struggle to find a spot. Lack of Accessibility: There are only two handicap parking spaces for the entire complex, which is completely unacceptable for a venue of this size. The Theater & Amenities: Online Fees: On top of the parking hassle, they tack on extra fees just for buying your tickets online. Peeling D-Box Seats: I paid extra to get the D-Box seats, but the material on them was completely peeling. Lack of Reinvestment: The theater itself works fine and does what a theater should do, but I feel like a company this big should be reinvesting their money much better into the actual quality of the facility. Final Verdict: Three stars because it gets the job done as a basic theater, but between the non-existent practical parking, the online fees, and the worn-out upgraded seating, they really need to improve the overall experience.
