This is an unusual, but expensive story, about the angst of an owner who screwed up his car, some very peculiar insurance company behavior, and the remarkable commitment of the folks at AW to make it all whole. In stop and go traffic returning from Ft. Myers Airport in early March, I slowly bumped my car, a '12 AMG E63S wagon, into the back of a Subaru (which subsequently required a new bumper). My AMG noticably had the grill pushed in several inches, the front left corner of the hood bent, and the left head light casing broken. Not insignificant, but the horror which followed was amazing. AW had been recommended by the local MB dealer as their accredited workshop. The first estimate was $7000; all contingent on what they would find eventually that required replacement. Initially I felt like AW and the insurer (Berkely One -- to be avoided!) were racing to out do themselves. AW had the explanation they were reacting to insurer and Mercedes guidelines; the insurer seemed to be looking for an excuse to total the car. Mindblowing. Literally. The estimate grew to exceed $30,000 -- nearly two thirds as I recall parts replacements on a 13 year old but beautiful and well maintained car. My instinct was to trust Rick and Dominika and the others at AW. They knew the car was in remarkable condition save my carelessness. And having driven the car more than 200 miles between accident and turning it over to them, I was certain it was sound. I accepted the fact that it was an expensive car to put back together; for the record, it has been just five months short of 13 years since I took delivery of the car at Mercedes Manhattan. I decided to take the insurance pay out and get them out of the middle, and trust AW. I got regular updates from AW as various parts were available; and visited several times before having to head north myself. In late May they put the car on a transport to New England in beautiful shape. When I subsequently took the car to my dealer up here to have the seasonal tires changed, they noted the condition; I suggested they have a close look. They were knocked out by the quality and completeness of what had been done. Needless to say, I do not want to repeat the experience. But I would recommend the team at AW to anyone. I'm not sure what this gentleman is referring to below, but it is completely false. There is definitely a misinterpretation to the process they go through. As to everything, there is never a definitive number until all the repairs are completed. As if you were going to the dentist, they charge you for the visit and once you're sitting in the dentist chair then they can determine what needs to be done to your mouth. Same deal here, when you go they give you an overview estimate of what the repairs look like from the exterior, once you have your vehicle in the shop then you can really tell what needs to be done when the car get disassembled and "naked" from where the damages are based. The insurance companies are very unhelpful when it comes to proper repairs to the vehicle. The only insurance company I've seen so far that has the process down packed and understands what manufacture standards and procedures they have to perform in order to bring the vehicle back to those standards is PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE. If anybody on here ever needs advice or isn't sure what insurance to quote through, definitely PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE it is!! This body shop is being misinterpreted because of all the other MOM AND POP shops in the area that DO NOT repair the vehicles properly based on the insurance company leading the repair process when it should be the other way around. The insurance company should not dictate the repair, THE BODY SHOP should be the one dictating the repairs after all they are the professionals repairing the vehicle, not the insurance company. So, just as a precaution, the insurance companies will ALWAYS write a very low and demeaning estimate as your initial estimate, but never be intimidated by it. IT WILL ALWAYS CHANGE when you're vehicle arrives at the shop. read more

A&W Collision was recommend to us and they by far are the BEST body shop we have ever dealt with! Rick (Ricardo) and Brenden were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They are an extremely busy place and they made us feel as if we were there one and only customer. To say we received white glove service is an understatement...they deserve platinum stars. There should be a billboard on 41 informing the public of how AWESOME this place truly is! Things had happened that were out of their control, however Rick and Brenden were very honest and transparent and kept us informed through the entire process. When I arrived, the shop was clean, and had attractive lounge seats for you to sit on to complete paperwork. Everyone greeted me with a hello and smile. I had the pleasure of working with Cody to handle the repairs for my Mercedes E350. Cody was articulate, professional and ensured that my car would be well taken care of. Mercedes-Benz of Fort Myers referred me to AW Collision when my car was hit on the front. Cody Miller took care of my car from start to finish and I could not be more pleased with how he returned my car! It looks better than what it looked like before the accident! He made it very easy for me to trust him in making sure that all the parts on my Mercedes were original parts and not aftermarket. Having a brand new car dented while on vacation and making three trips to the car dealer was unexpected on my recent trip to SW Florida. The Mercedes Dealer recommended AW Collision and I was fortunate to hook up with them. The front passenger bumper was dented as a result of WHATEVER in a WAlmart Parking lot. Great Experience. I came to AW on the recommendation of my dealership and I am glad that I did. A driver hit me in the parking lot and the exterior damage looked minimal but underneath there was more. Although this process took a pretty long time they have been efficient with their work and the communication from Talor was top notch. AW is great. I sent my 2017 BMW 320i to AW on the recommendation of the dealer. I was rear-ended by another driver while stopped at a red stoplight, so the work was covered under the other driver's insurance. They were kind enough to help me avoid the headaches that come with trying to get an auto insurance company to pay for the damages properly. Brought my 2012 Audi Q5 in after we got rear ended on the highway. Rear bumper and lift gate and rear muffler was damaged and other damage also!! Myers FL is an A+ organization.....The repair work on my BMW is unbelievable.....no one could tell there was any damage anywhere on the car.....My wife was not able to drive at the time of repairs....so the manager himself (Joseph Wells) insisted that he take me home himself instead of me calling a cab.....and when I picked the car up, Mr. Wells insisted again and drove my car back to my house.
