Unsure of which service to select, I explained my situation and she recommended the Empowered Realignment, as this incorporates subtle bodywork such as polarity and cranial sacral therapy. I arrived early for my appointment which gave us time to discuss the locations of discomfort, diet/exercise regime, current emotional state and massage preferences. Based on my current issues, she combined traditional massage (shiatsu?,) myofascial release and energy healing. During the treatment, she checked in with me to ensure the pressure was comfortable and adjusted when I felt pain. Soft music played in the background, a specifically selected essential oil blend was diffused and at some point I was so relaxed I fell asleep. She gently woke me up to let me know the massage had ended. We sat down afterwards to talk through thoughts that arose during the energy work portion, had a glass of water and she suggested a few things I could do to improve my back/emotional state. I left with a roller of the essential oil that was selected for my session. It's rare to find a Massage Therapist who combines aromatherapy, massage and Reiki into one holistic treatment. I really enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to my next appointment! Side note: Blakey currently massages out of her home. You can park in the driveway and she has a small dog who was very well behaved during our appointment.

I'm a three time cancer survivor with lots of scar tissue, nerve trauma and lymphnode issues. Adam took lots of time to learn my history, concerns, and plan an approach during our first visit (not included in table time), which included addressing the root of each issue and not just symptoms. He cares very much about doing his best for everyone who walks through that front door, and it shows. There's never a dull moment in our conversation either, which helps take my mind off the pain that comes with corrective massage for me. Though he's also very careful not to apply more pressure than necessary / I can handle. When seeking someone new to help address the reoccurring pain in my shoulder I found Vince. Prior to massage, I was full time bartender at a very busy dive bar. Lots of repetitive motion with horrible body mechanics and even before that I was a competitive tennis player. All of this internal rotation left my shoulder weak, overused, often inflamed and limited range of motion. Vince's Rolfing approach to solving this issue was very unique to me and addressed all of the imbalances of my body. I had never tried Rolfing before I met him. Full disclosure - Vince is my husband…read more At the age of 24 I was unfortunately in a major workplace accident and was struck from behind and pinned underneath a stack of milk crates, each crate filled with 4 gallons of milk. Long story short, I ended up not being able to walk for two months with two herniated discs (L4 and L5) with sciatica and what seemed to be never ending pain radiating through my lower back, both hips and down my legs from the accident. I tried literally everything under the sun to manage the pain. Exercise, physical therapy, swimming, yoga, pilates and both homeopathic and prescription pain relievers. Nothing worked long term. 5 years later, with many false starts on the road to healing, Vince started his journey to become a Rolfer and both of us quickly realized what a profound effect this work would have on our lives. After completing the Ten-Series with Vince I can confidently say I am pain-free...99% of the time. I leave that 1% in there as to say NOTHING can undo the damage caused by a major accident such as mine. That being said, Rolfing has given me a new outlook on pain and the part my entire body plays into it, not just the area seemingly affected. I cannot imagine life without this work. I went to acupuncture for the first time to treat and prevent chronic migraines and pain in my trapezoids/shoulders/upper back. While I can't speak to any changes in my migraines since I've had them for years and only been to one session, the pain in my traps, however, went away that very day and has not yet returned (4 days since visit). I will be returning in a couple days for another visit, before the pain has time to return but I still cannot get over the instant relief I felt after just one session and that it hasn't returned yet.
