I was mostly happy with the Durango, except there were still some bug remnants on the grille. The Silverado turned out STUNNING on the outside - the scratches were totally gone and the paint looked brand new. The big problem was he hadn't touched the interior. The inside really needed it too. This was a birthday present for my Mom, and I gave her a half clean truck. The bed also still had pine needles and debris in it. When I asked Doug about this, he told me paint correction is $300 and does not include the interior. I was never told this fee was for exterior paint only. Miscommunication. He did offer to return the following week to clean the inside, which I told him was a gracious move and that most people don't care about doing the right thing but by offering this, he clearly cares about his company and leaving the client happy. He never returned and ghosted us after my last communication to him telling him he actually cares about his clients. I guess I was wrong. The bottom line is, he obviously knows what he is doing with paint repair. We are thrilled with that aspect, but $360 later and no explanation, I feel a bit robbed.

But when I reached out to some local mechanics, I was quoted $200 just for labor to locate the battery--a bit much in my book. So, I called my brothers back home in PR (both mechanics) for advice, then contacted the dealer to confirm the correct battery type. I headed to the local O'Reilly's, grabbed an AGM battery, and asked them for recommendations on shops that could handle the install. They directed me to Alexys at South Shore Custom Detailing, and it couldn't have been a better recommendation. Although the shop was closed when I drove over, I called the number on the door. Despite being in Sacramento at the time, Alexys promised he'd be in South Lake Tahoe by 7 PM and asked all the right questions about my car and battery, reassuring me that he'd handle it. Right at 7 PM, he arrived at the shop and got to work. If you know anything about Minis, you know they're not the easiest to work on, but Alexys handled it like a pro. He was efficient, organized, and knew exactly where every piece and screw went--there must have been 25 screws, and he made it look easy. Watching him work was genuinely impressive. During the process, we had a great conversation about our backgrounds, families, and hobbies, and he even took the time to teach me a few things along the way. He's friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what he does. And best of all, he charged a fair price for his skill and the complexity of the work. If you're in the South Lake Tahoe area and need a mechanic, I can't recommend Alexys and South Shore Custom Detailing highly enough. I recently brought my brand new Ford Bronco to Prestige Car Wash and unfortunately left very…read moredisappointed. I used to recommend this place to everyone I knew, but since the change in ownership and staff, the quality seems to have declined significantly. When I was told the vehicle was "finished," I did a quick walk-around and immediately noticed multiple areas with dripping water and visible water spots because the vehicle hadn't been properly dried. I pointed these out several times, but the employee repeatedly tried to move on before the issues were fully addressed. Unfortunately, because the Bronco was parked under a shade tree, even more missed details became obvious once I got home -- additional water spotting along the body and door panels, plus bug splatter still left on the windshield. For a $65.28 wash after the added credit card processing fee, I expected a much higher level of attention to detail. What used to feel like a thorough, quality service now felt rushed and careless. Between the higher prices and noticeable drop in quality, this will likely be my last visit, and I can no longer confidently recommend them to friends or colleagues.
