This review is for a newborn session done in the hospital. I was in flushing hospital and saw the ad for award studio 10. The next day they showed up and asked myself and my roommate if we were interested. Since my cell was broken, I couldn't really take any picture, so I jumped at the chance. The photographers were SOO friendly, and they handled my baby with care. I chose package C which give u 5 poses. They had a WIDE selection of props, for my son we had a crown, blocks that spelled out his name, a turtle hat and shell cover, and a sash that said baby boy, that's what we got before he started crying LOL. we also caught his first smile! They worked with me because I didn't want any 5 by 7s. and I would recommend them again and again :-) the only draw back is waiting to get ur pics. it takes about a month. but I am very happy with their service. read more

This is a partial review of an at-home photo session: My wife and I were recently blessed with our first baby. We turned down the in-hospital portraits, mainly because we are on a budget and all of my family members who visited us had taken enough photos of our son to fill dozens of albums. On a visit to Babies R' Us my wife entered a raffle being held by this company and she was contacted a few weeks later, and was told she had won a free 8x10 and a no-cost at home session. Personally, I think it was just a marketing ploy but we took them up on their offer. The photographer, Bob, arrived 2 hours late, but once he got started we realized why that was...the man is a consummate professional. He was patient with our 1 month old son. He even waited as we did multiple diaper changes, a feeding break and change of clothes. He had pillows, blankets, toys and other props. What amazed me was the manner in which he was able to coax our son to laugh and giggle for him. After the photo session, we were delivered the proofs and that is when the sales pitch began. We were handed a stack of about 50 proofs, and asked to choose for our "prize" 8x10. We were interested in an economical package but their cheapest starts at $249. I figured we could buy a digital CD of our proofs but this studio "sells" you the rights to your baby's photos and proofs as a stand-alone item for $200. We decided to bite the bullet and buy the Silver Package which included all of the proofs plus the CD, in addition to the bundle 11x14, 8x10s, 5x7s, and wallet sizes. Now, that our choices have been made, we are simply awaiting delivery. Let's see how long they take, seeing how I've already pre-paid nearly $350 (tax and shipping included). Frankly, they are not at bad at what they do. The photos look amazing, and the quality of service is really good. The prices leave something to be desired, and the fact that they ask you to sign a waiver to use your child's photos in their promotions and websites without any compensation leaves a bitter taste. If they deliver on their promises, then we will definitely be using them in the future and perhaps referring them to family and friends. read more

So, me and the wife enter a raffle for a photo package during a maternity class. A week after we get a call from Award studio saying we won! Representative states that after the session we have the ability to add more prints to the package we won. Photographer comes to our home, spends 3 hours taking pics, very professional and intricate and all. Week and a half after we get a call from the company giving us our options. The options end up being the packages they offer to everyone. It's like we haven't won anything!!! Had we known that, we would have hired another company. Now, because we want professional pics of our baby when he was just a few days old (he is one month old now) we feel forced to choose a package, and pay them. We feel cheated. I had the photographer come do newborn shots of my 10 day old son. The pictures came out so beautiful. The only thing I wished was that we didn't have his diaper on in the pictures, but I didn't bring that up with the photographer at the time. I would definitely use them again in the future. read more

I was recommended to them by my sister in law we booked the session and I loved it the fact that the photographer had the patience was very professional and friendly to the kids was great.. I just got the proofs and we got so many great shots that to pick from them is hard. :-) I definitely would recommend them to my family and my friends. I would use them again in any of my events. What an absolute disaster. From scheduling to arrival times, your time means NOTHING to them. Then the office staff from Mona on down make the keystone cops look like a well oil surgical staff. Avoid, really, the pictures aren't worth it, and your time is precious. This is not a one time experience either. We signed a 5 year deal, and have regretted it 3 years in a row. They get you to book an appointment for a free 5x7 and if you do not purchase your pictures you get put on the back burner because you are no longer a valued customer!!!!!!!! I had a newborn photography shoot done for my daughter when she was 3 weeks old. The photographer was very professional and the pictures came out amazing! Family and friends fall over in laughter and tears over these photos. I highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to do newborn pictures! read more

What a great company! The photographer I used for my newborn and first birthday shoot was awesome. She got great shots BOTH times despite having a not so happy baby. They give you so many more pictures than they say too making it that much harder to choose the best pictures. Once the pictures are developed, the woman that comes to your house to discuss your options is super nice and patient. She will work with you and your budget. I had my children photographed when my son was 2 weeks old and again for their first Christmas together. I was absolutely amazed with my son's newborn photos. The photographer that came was fantastic and allowed my daughter feel like she was part of setting the photos up and I loved every photo (47). It was almost impossible to choose my favorites. The Christmas photos were nice and the photographer did an excellent job and had adorable props but my daughter wasn't in the best mood. He did his best and got some really great photos of my son and some good ones of them together. It only took about 20 minutes. He also admired my son's newborn photos that were hanging on the wall (they really were great photos). I would definitely use them again! read more

Do not use this studio! I do not like any of my pictures. They were at my house for 5 hours. I finally had to tell the photograph it's her bed time she needs to go to sleep. He spent an hour on our first set of pictures by the time we changed her she was just about done. All of the pictures look unnatural the way we were told to hold the baby. The pictures of just the baby were just as bad. She had a very tense face Bc she just wanted to sleep. Most pictures had her feet cut off or a pillow in the picture. When we got the 4x6 picture to choose for our enlargement we couldn't pick enough picture to fill our package. Once we got out enlargement they look even worse because now they are just very large bad pictures. I should have just went to a department store and had some kid take the pictures. I used Award Studio 10 for my newborn session. My husband and I were looking into photography companies when I met them at Babies R Us. They were helpful every time I called and they were very understanding when I needed to move up or session because my lil one came early. Our photographer was Bob and he was very professional and understanding when I needed to break to feed and/or change my daughter. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for professional, amazing pictures of their lil one! read more

I "won" a free photo shoot and 5x7 when taking a baby class at a local facility however already had a newborn photo shoot scheduled so we decided to hold off on our "prize" until our baby was about 6 months old. After having a lengthy conversation with an associated at award studio 10 about our child, age, size, weight, specifics about what we wanted for our shoot including a time we thought we were all set, a few days prior we were even called multiple times in order to confirm the time. The day of our shoot the photographer called not knowing anything about our child, telling me that they did not even have the props promised, and on top of that all was going to be almost an hour late as if it was "no big deal"....when calling to speak to an associate at the studio they could not even get in touch with the photographer to see what the confusion was and how they did not know anything about the situation....needless to say we did not go forwarded with the photos, and will not be working with them in the future. read more
