I booked a deep tissue massage and arrived about an hour early, which turned out to be the best decision. They guide you through a full relaxation process starting with the sauna, then moving to the cold room, and finishing in the steam room. Everything felt thoughtfully designed to ease you in before the treatment. The service is absolutely outstanding and cannot get any better. Magdalena, my masseuse, was incredible. Great session booked at Awe Spa when staying at Sunrise at Moon Palace Resorts. My girlfriend and I booked a couples massage and arrived about 45 minutes. To take advantage of the spa amenities prior to our massages. After arriving, my girlfriend and I went to the gender separate areas, put our stuff away in the changing area and go into robes and slippers, and met up with our designated attendee. I was then escorted to the dry sauna first, where I stayed for about 15 minutes, and then was escorted to the steam room for about 10 minutes. Due to time, I was unable to enjoy the hot and cold pools this time and was escorted to the waiting area for my massage. I scheduled an 80-minute deep tissue massage, which was great. Definitely felt nice and relax after everything! Overall: I would highly recommend the spa and massage experience at Awe Spa if you get the chance. The Facility: You can't find anything much more luxurious than the AWE Spa at the Moon Palace Grand. From the moment you walk in, you are relaxed and feel like a diva. The opening sitting area doubles as a seating area for the café. This is the place to go if you want healthy foods on your Palace l vacation. They will make you any type of smoothie or parfait and all of their regular menu options have words like chia seeds in them. The service is fantastic The ambience is relaxed. The Spa: Though I had my massage treatments at the spa by the golf course, I did almost all my hydrotherapy at this location. Truly extravagant! They walk you through each step of the process from fitting you with slippers, helping you with a locker, and getting you to the therapy area. If you are lucky, Alejandra, or Karen G will be your guide. That's where indulgence begins. After cleansing your pallet with chlorophyll water, you choose whether you prefer eucalyptus or lavender. They place you gently in the dry sauna, covering your eyes with cucumber rounds and a wet towel. Then, they spray you with your oil of choice. For the entire process, they recommend how many minutes you should spend in each section and then will collect you after your time of choice. Following the dry sauna, you move to the ice bath. Here, you are given a little leaf with aloe on it and a bowl with some ice. You slather the aloe all over your body and then close your pores using the ice. You are only here for a few minutes. The next stop is the sauna. They give you mud to put on your face for a mud mask and conditioner to put on the ends of your hair before your 5 to 10 minutes in steamy.relaxation. When out, you choose between a total body shower in the round or an oil-infused rain shower. If that isn't enough, you move to the heated chaise lounges to relax with a smoothie or popsicle. Since we had resort credits, I decided to get a pedicure. You have to make reservations almost as soon as you arrive to guarantee a decent time slot. I managed to get in 3 days after I arrived. Pros: -Beautiful salon. The aroma when you walk down the hall and in the salon is wonderful! Not overpowering at all. -Staff is friendly. Most of them speak English but it can be difficult to understand at times. -Amenities - they offer you beverages (hot, cold, mimosa, etc.) The melon water they had in the waiting area was very good! Cons: -Not a huge selection of polish. And what they did have looked old (some of the colors had separated. Had to shake the bottle to see true color. -My pedicure lasted about a day. I'm sure the chemicals in the pool water didn't help. Came home with faded color and chipped polish. But what can I say... it was basically a "free" service. My friend got a hot stone massage and he said it was amazing! I would definitely go back and try the other services they offer. read more

Currently sitting in this spa at the Golf Course. I would not recommend it and save your money (resort credit) for something else. It's completely over priced and they parce out each service. I scheduled a haircut at the spa. When I booked with guest services they said that the haircut includes styling. When I got there it was a complete different story. my hair was barely washed. They said that haircut does not include full shampoos and conditioning. The lady took less than 5mins washing my hair. I had explain to them what guest services told me when I booked over the phone. They would not honor it and was extremely rude. They said only one technician was available to do my hair in the entire empty salon. I ended up not cutting my hair nor was it throughly washed. I just had them blow dry my hair. Ruined almost 2 hours of my life and vacay time! read more

The aroma therapy room or as I call it the warm up room has sauna, steam room, hot tub, calf and foot hot tub, rain shower, & best the cold tub. Had a wonderful hot stone massage during my stay at moon palace! The main spa is located in the same building as the golf pro shop. It is a very quiet and soothing atmosphere. The men's and women's amenities are entirely separate each is complete with jacuzzis, dry saunas and steam rooms. These can be used all day the day of your service. -- they don't tell you this when you make the appointment, so I had to ask. Refreshing body tonics, chilled cucumbers and flavored waters and teas available. This does have to be booked a week in advance and up to 20% of resort credits may be used toward services. read more

This spa is a must when visiting the Moon Palace resort. It is located in the gold club. We did the couple massage which use about 300 credits. We just paid tax of 16%. We arrived about 45 minutes before our appointment. During that 45 minutes I hit the sauna, steam room, into a cold bath, hot spa Jacuzzi and then showered.
