Really fantastic 3 hour spa visit (hummingbird). I did mine naked as nature intended. Started with a smelly (sulfur) clay. My least favorite part. After the clay dried you walk a short distance to a shower with a hose and some cold water and they rub/rinse off the clay. About 30 mins in total. After the rinse they have a nice warm tub ready for you with herbs and fragrances. Super enjoyable after the cold rinse. While in the tub they give you a neck and scalp massage. About 20-25 mins. Following the tub you move back to the bed and one of the ladies gives you a front massage while moving the towel around to cover you from the cool jungle breeze. The massage is done with oil and was so well done. You flip after an hour to your stomach and they work your feet to your head the same as the front massage. I would rated the quality of this massage among the best I've ever had. High quality. Well trained hands. And very respectful. 10/10 I'll be back here next time I visit! read more

We got the 2 1/2 hour treatment. It was very relaxing. You can see other naked visitors in the tubs so I would not go fully nude. The mud treatment was nice. Getting it rinsed off was kind of miserable because the water was so cold. The hot bath was nice but we started to get overheated after about 10 minutes. I think my massage lady kept falling asleep. Regardless, it was definitely worth the price. They sent a taxi for us and he waited while we were getting our services. read more

If you are considering getting a massage while you are visiting we highly recommend the Los Colibríes Mayan Jungle Spa. It is such a beautiful atmosphere and everyone makes you feel welcome from beginning to end. We were apprehensive about going topless at first but the massage therapists all make sure you are covered when you need to be and never make you feel self conscious at all. The clay does have a sulfur smell to it but that goes away within 5 minutes or less. They rinse the clay off with cold water but right after being rinsed you are put into a warm/hot bath where you get a neck, shoulder and back massage. After you get out of the bath they have you get onto the massage table where you get a massage that is to the pressure of your liking. I had medium pressure and my wife had hard pressure. After the massage they lead you to the entry where you enjoy fresh fruit and tea. This experience is something you will never forget and well worth the money. read more

While on a trip to Mexico everyone kept mentioning how we HAD to go to the Jungle Spa during our trip so we took a gamble and booked it for our 6th anniversary. I emailed the owner and she got back to me within hours to book my appointment. Valerie set us up with a cab ride from our resort for a flat rate of $60. The cab driver picked us up, drove us 30 minutes and stayed during our entire 3 hour appointment to ensure safety although we never felt unsafe once during the journey. When we got there we immediately felt relaxed immersed in nature. We were seen immediately and set up in a semi private outdoor area where we were given the full treatment of clay, a shower, a hot bath with a massage followed by the best 90 minute massage we have ever had in our lives. The experience ended with refreshments and a plate of fruit. We couldn't believe the total cost for the experience was $240 (with tips we spent $300 total.) The whole atmosphere and experience was a 10/10. read more

Max greeted me upon arrival and brought me to one of their massage areas. Stripped down to comfort level and laid face up on the table. Lita (or Letty's) sorry on name, applied the MUD front & then back. It does itch a little but wasn't uncomfortable. After it dried showered off, a bit cold but manageable. Then the soak in their Outdoor Bath while getting the most amazing neck, head and shoulder massage. Then unto the massage I skipped the HEAT and added 30 min to the massage. What an experience. What an amazing person with great hands. My body was so relaxed and felt great. As I have stated previously, skip all the resorts "STUFFY" treatments and come here for their most amazing add to your vacation. This is by far the best massage I've ever had. The price is unbeatable. My husband and I were a little reluctant to try it because of the location. The spa is primitive but I was amazed at the surroundings. The authentic thunder, rain & smell of the fresh outdoor air had me mesmerized. It was Better than any simulated sound from a Bose speaker. The aloe & banana wrap left my skin super soft & hydrated. Highly recommend this Spa. Suggestions: You may want to bring your own neck pillow & hand towel to place in the head pillow. Highly recommend this spa for unique experience of massage. We made a reservation a day before, once we went to lobby to get our taxi, the concierge already knew about us going to Colibries and he called the driver up. The driver brought us to the place and waited for us, which was super nice. The girls were very friendly, accomodative, and did great job massaging every inch of my and my hub's bodies. After the massage, they offered us a hibiscus tea with assorted fruits. The ambiance is extremely relaxive, the nature around is very peaceful, and the wind with birds chirping soothes your soul. The prices are affordable (much better than at the resort) and the whole experience adds special feeling to our trip! read more

We should have written this review a long time ago. My husband and I come here every time we come to Mexico. This place is literally the best massage money can buy and it's sooo affordable. It's worth moving to Mexico for. We've also tried the clay body mask, and just like they'll tell you it stinks. It also itches some but that wasn't so bad. When they wash it off, the shower is ice cold. Afterwards our skin felt amazing! One of the times my massage therapist braided my hair while I soaked in the tub which was so relaxing and I loved it. She asked first, so if it's not your thing you can just say no thanks. We've read other reviews and find the negative comments ridiculous. I worked in an ER and now with straight up criminals, I have made my living working with creepers and her son is not a creeper. Men can be massage therapists too and it doesn't make them creepy, even if your wife is beautiful. Go be appalled by Deshaun Watson. You have the option of being naked or wearing a swimsuit. You may catch a glimpse of other people naked. It's not a big deal. You might also catch a glimpse of a monkey, that's a big deal. Just enjoy yourself. read more

We were staying at the Ocean Coral and couldn't wait to get to our massages in the Jungle. We emailed Sandra, the owner, at the Jungle Spa on a Monday and she got us in on a Tuesday. She was helpful with what to tell the cab drivers and how to pay. We arrived just as Sandra had said... In the middle of the dirt and swampy roads of the jungle. This place is authentic to say the least. It has 7 huts or out buildings gated in by a small picket fence. Each little hut serves multiple clients and is put together with bare bones! It was amazing. I won't tell the story because Sandra does a great job of that. The Mayan women left us feeling worked on and body parts in place! Truly intoxicating. It is not for someone who is self conscious or afraid of nature!!! But I have raved about this as the highlight of our trip! read more

You MUST take a short trip from the shore to this oasis. You could never get this 2.5 hour treatment for such an amazing price ($90 US) in the United States. Before even coming, we were contacted by the owner to ensure we knew where we were going. She even offered to set up a taxi for us. When we arrived, My girlfriend and I were greeted by the owner and her son (and a cute puppy) who immediately led into a peaceful jungle walkway. The spa is completely outside, allowing for an extremely relaxing experience. We were offered water and asked to sit for a few minutes while we waited to the steam bath to be the right temperature. Before beginning were were shown to our massage area where we undressed and wrapped in towels. This area is gorgeous. It is open to the jungle breeze, with a covering and overhead fan. There were two massage tables, a shower, and two clay baths. The steam bath (a clay sweat lodge) was the only place we had to share with other clients. You stay in the steam bath for two 15 minute intervals--in between you take a cold shower. My girlfriend decided to skip the steam bath so she was given a very relaxing head massage during this time. After the bath we were covered in a clay mask. The only downside was it smelled of sulfur, but this was easy to get past. Once the clay dried, our masseuses helped us wash the clay off our bodies in the shower. From the cold shower we stepped into the steaming clay bath. Here we spent about 30 minutes being massaged while soaking in the hot bath. After the bath came the hour massage, which was catered to your needs. My masseuse was amazing. She worked on areas that really needed it and left my body completely relaxed. She was very sweet and professional. After our massages we were greeted with a fruit plate and tea--a very nice touch to end the spa treatment. If you're looking to find yourself in an oasis in Mexico, book now. You will be transported to utter bliss. The owner continually checked on us throughout the process. She definitely has created an unbelievable experience for clients. Note: You will be undressing and showering in open areas. You will also be nude through majority of the spa treatment in front of anyone you are with as well as the masseuses. We stayed at a resort in Riviera Maya and chose this place because of the good reviews and it's not as expensive as the resort. *wear a bikini bathing suit*. First - you are greeted by the owner who brought her family from France 2 years ago. Second - you will undress in the wide open space (so wear your swimsuit underneath. Given a towel to go into a man made "sweathut" with 2 other couples wearing your suit with towel to sweat off toxins and then shower off with cold water afterward again all outside. Third - off to the massage table to have an all over body mud mask and relax. Fourth - shower off again with the help of the masseuse Fifth - off to the very warm bath to soak and get a head/shoulder massage Sixth - off to your final indulgence of royal treatment for a massage They were professional and nice. I was lucky enough to get a last minute booking....but next time I will not leave to chance and will book ahead to insure my spa experience. Absolutely loved this near off-grid spa! The women were so strong and able to get into my deep knots during the massage. The value is great and the money helps the local indigenous women earn a good wage. The journey there is a bit like a mini adventure as you head off the main road onto the dirt road. Was looking for a spa during my recent relaxing getaway in Riviera Maya, and I am glad I found this spot! I emailed Valerie to check if they had any last minute opening and was able to get the 2.5 hour treatment. She also arranged a taxi to pick me up and drop me off for 1100 pesos. The taxi was nice, but he had some trouble finding the place so I was a little late. Though after I got there, I was able to enjoy actually 3 hours of treatment. Everything was outdoors in the jungle, though it was close to a road so you could hear cars pass sometimes. It started with the "steam bath" which was sitting in a little heated clay hut with a furnace that you can throw water into for steam. You do that for 30 minutes total and can get out halfway to take a cold shower, I opted not to and just took it at the end. Then you get taken to the table where they apply a mask on your front side, wait until it dries and then flip to repeat on your back side. They them help you wash it all off in another cold shower before going into an outdoor bathtub with flowers and some kind of soap. The masseuse gives you a head, neck and shoulder massage while lounging in the tub for what I think was another 30 minutes. And finally you go back to the table for an hour long full body massage with oils. Everything was done while you are fully undressed, so bring a swimsuit if you're shy. After you get dressed, they have a cup of hibiscus tea and cut fruit set out for you to enjoy and lounge until you ready to go back. All this special treatment for only $90 USD, so I'd say it was definitely worth it. It be cool to come with a pal or your significant other cause the tubs and tables were in pairs so you'd be side by side the whole time and you can split the taxi to make it even more cost efficient. read more

We were recommended this place by our hotel staff. At first we were kinda skeptical as why would a resort recommend somewhere else besides their own spa? After seeing all the positive reviews we decided to give it a try and thank god we did! For $90 bucks each you first get to sit in a Mayan clay steam room, which was hot but not unbearable like other saunas I've been in, then they apply a clay mask all over your body, followed by a milk bath while they give you a great 20-30 minute head/shoulder/neck massage, then a standard full body massage for at least an hour. We were there for a full 3 hours which is an unbeatable price considering the time you are there. One other couple was there at the same time as us. We all went into the steam room at the same time. which made the time in there go faster but then you really don't see them again until you're finished. Looks like they would only ever take a max of 6 people at once. The therapists massaging us were extremely skilled, and had some unique styles of massage that I hadn't really experienced before in the states. You then finish up with some tea and fruit. We just returned from a glorious holiday in Cancun and one of the absolute highlights was a visit to Valerie and her team at the Mayan Jungle Spa. We did the full 2.5 hour experience and every minute of it was lovely from making reservation to our departure. The facility was pristine, the staff skilled and professional, the treatments unique and exquisite. My boyfriend, not one for spa treatments thoroughly enjoyed it also. The spa is a little off the beaten track but still easy to get to - although we should have taken Valerie's recommendation to take the ADO bus from Cancun instead of taking a taxi which was a little spendy. Valerie was so kind to negotiate a much more reasonable fare for our return trip which was above the call of duty. The experience was worth far more than was charged which to my opinion only meant that sufficient tipping was the way to make it equitable. Thank you Valerie and team for an awesome experience and the best way to get into full relaxation mode. If and when we get back to Cancun we will most certainly be back! read more
