DJ Mark "Peace" Thomas is the consummate pro. I hired him because I called others who had hired him for their weddings, and each person had only great things to say about him. I learned from firsthand experience that every complimentary thing said about him is true. He is extremely low key; nothing phases him. I don't have the easiest family in the world to deal with, and he handled everyone graciously. He also has impeccable timing--he knows when to encourage people to get on the dance floor and when to leave things humming as is. He is both about being in service to the wedding, while at the same time just knowing when it's time to step in and get the party stirred again. Also, while I think I was a little lame about giving him musical direction (for example, I didn't have any songs that were "do not play no matter what"s, and he did ask me; and I told him anything anyone requests is fine with me), he managed to play many of my favorite songs that I completely forgot to ask him to play but wanted him to. This really impressed me. He was clearly paying attention to what I said I liked and wanted, and his ability to expand on that was impressive. It was like he was reading my mind. He is funny enough to get laughs from the crowd, and elegant enough to know when to let things be. He is incredibly easy to work with, never pushy, and very fairly priced. Do yourself a favor: if you want one LESS thing to worry about, hire Mark Peace Thomas and be done with it. You will get the DJ you wanted and will be in terrifically professional hands. read more
