They were accepting other people without an appointment to go before me and I waited there for about a few hours. 3 hours later.....Now it came my time to do my hair. I specifically told them I wanted twists over the phone. One of the braiders called me selfish for wanting twists as if wanting a hairstyle you specifically labeled on your website is selfish. They forced me to get braids. Then they continuously stopped doing my hair to either eat chickoen and rice from their crockpot or talk to their friends. Not to mention they ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR EDGES they were ripping my edges out and I told one of the people it hurt and she moved my head in disgust and continued talking on the phone. I witnessed both the pleasant and well mannered clients and the ill mannered. Today, for example, a client came in demanding free service as well as extra accoutrements because her roots grow out quicker than she anticipated. I sat fuming at her nerve to demand such services. Both the stylist and the owner handled it with firm, but patient and kind limits. I admired the professionalism of the entire staff who witnessed this inappropriate outburst. The owner compromised and the stylist treated this customer with friendliness and skill throughout her process. In terms of skill, each of the stylists, especially the owner, Wendy, works her magic with the most challenging type of hair. Some stylists tell me "you have the most difficult type of hair to style." Not only does Wendy style it with flair, but also it lasts for three, sometimes four days,despite daily activity and sleep. They also offer manicures, pedicures, and other spa services with smiling and welcoming staff. This business, a hidden gem, deserves praise and I especially encourage kind, friendly and caring folks to consider this spa.

I have my hair cut every 3 weeks and they always ask me how I would like it and my standard answer is just like it was 3 weeks ago. I would not be going back there every three weeks for 15 years if I was not happy with the place. I decided to call Heather's Hair Design. I explained my anxiety and Heather was so understanding and wonderful. When I got there, we talked about what I wanted to do and my anxiety went away.
