It isn't just for seniors, all adults age are welcome in. Be sure to stop in at Paper Boy coffee shop for some delicious pastries and fresh roasted coffee.

Five friends and I went here yesterday for breakfast and lunch. We started out meeting at Paperboy…read moreinside as I got a hot tea drink and a pastry. We were able to buy tickets for $6 each early for the 11 am to 1 pm lunch. It's $4 each if you are 65+ years old. It was a great lunch and had few perks for sticking around. Get their early as tickets are limited! For lunch, we started off getting salad with thousand island dressing. Next, we were served coffee, tea, and water. After that, we had steak bites, seasoned red potatoes and Brussel sprouts. This was followed up with fruit served with a dab of whipped cream. For those staying longer at no extra charge, they gave us a wristband and we were able to stay and hear/dance to some music with a dj. We also were given 2 incredibly cooked chicken wings and a pineapple Mocktail. They had more, so we were able to get a second round of wings and mocktail. Altogether, this was a great lunch gathering. I was so glad we all met here! Definitely will go again in the future. I like that the Metrolink train station is just to the north. It's about a 5 to 10 min walk from train to the Center west doors. The service here was excellent and hats off to the chefs!!!

UNDERCOVER BOSS PROMISE TRACKER -- FONTANA, CA…read more Mayor Acquanetta Warren appeared on Undercover Boss (filmed 2021, aired 2022) and made public promises to city employees and the community. Since then, we've seen very little follow-through -- and no public updates. So I've started tracking them. Here's what we know: Promise #1: Homeless Services Gift Card Program Department: Community Services / Homeless Outreach Details: Mayor promised a gift card program for unhoused residents that would provide both immediate support and access to services/resources. Current Status: No evidence of public rollout. No pilot. No mention in budget documents. No program materials found. Promise #2: Recruitment Ambassador (Randy Alexander McDowell) Department: Police Department / Diversity Recruitment Details: Mayor promised to make Randy an official ambassador to increase recruitment of Black and underrepresented officers. Current Status: No appointment. No new incentives or targeted outreach. No evidence of a formal role or public recruitment partnership. Promise #3: Fire Department Upgrades & Morale Support Department: Fire / Capital Improvements Details: Mayor pledged $11M toward 2 new stations and a training facility. Current Status: Needs further review. We're checking CIP documents and budget allocations to see what's been delivered. Promise #4: Park Ranger Rehire (Candace / Vagle Nature Center) Department: Parks & Community Services Details: Mayor promised to rehire a ranger to help maintain the park. Current Status: Unknown. No staff update published. No budget line found yet. Promise #5: Sewer Cleaning Equipment Upgrades Department: Public Works / Sanitation Details: City was supposed to invest in new, modernized sewer equipment. Current Status: Partial. In 2024, Fontana received nearly $1M for a septic-to-sewer conversion -- unclear if that's the same equipment or separate funding. I'm continuing to review Council agendas, budget docs, and public records. If anyone has seen progress on any of these -- or works in one of these departments -- I'd love to know what's really happening behind the scenes. Fontana deserves transparency. If our leaders can make promises on TV, we deserve to know what's been kept. -- Hailee Hightower Resident & Accountability Nerd

The wait was not long, after checking in at the kiosk, the queue was moving fast. The personnel were courteous and helpful. One in particular Braulio Ortiz assisted us the day prior when we inquired of the requirements. Today, we ended up being assisted by Braulio again and the same type of professionalism and courtesy was afforded to us. The City Hall itself is clean and organized. We are happy to have chosen to be residents of this great city.

Today, an amazing mama from Dollahan hosted an Autism Community Event & Walk. This is the first one…read moreto ever go on in the city of Rialto that I know of in Rialto. She hosted it all by herself and decided to hold it at this park. For the event, I give her an A+. She shared information for parents who may not be aware of everything that's available. As for the park itself, when it first opened, it was so beautiful. Unfortunately, it does need a facelift but for the most part it's still a very decent park. This park offers a variety of activities. There's two playgrounds. One for little kids and one for larger kids. There's a huge field in the center of the park with a walking trail. There's also workout equipment along the walking path. There's also two basketball court areas. If you want to host a party, there's large and small reserved areas. As for the cleanliness of the park, it's one of the cleanest and nicest in Rialto. The city does a good job cleaning it but sadly not everyone in the community does the same. If in the area and looking for a park to bring your kiddos or have an event keep this one in mind. One more thing, I'm an Autism Mama and this park offers me peace of mind because it's a gated park. Yes, there are still openings to enter but having a main gate around it is appreciated!
