I really wish I had been more involved in researching landscapers with my wife this summer. I have some turf that looks uneven and cheap. Our drip system that they extended around our backyard seems to be leaking. They are just giving us the run around on their "lifetime warranty". The owners are being very brief with my wife and I really don't appreciate it. As a contractor myself I'm willing to give them the opportunity to make this right and have the guts to return MY phone calls before I begin a long drawn out process with the ROC. Learn from my mistake by utilizing a rouse on these folks. If you're having issues with any of their work call them over for an estimate to have additional work done. If they know it involves money they'll be over in a heartbeat because they sure didn't hesitate to run on over when I cut them a check for $14k. We had work done by AZ Turf back in 2017 which was led by the owner, Tracy. It has taken me this long to post a review because we finally closed (and won) our case with the AZ ROC. The only good thing about AZ Turf and Tracy was the price point they came in at - which was $20k lower than the next lowest bid. However, we definitely had a "you get what you pay for" experience. To those who are considering AZ Turf: I highly recommend checking their business on the ROC site first. My complaint was not the only one. To those in currently in-progress: Good luck. TIMELINE * Project started Nov 2017 and confirmed with Tracy it could be completed by Thanksgiving in time for our family party. * Project completed in Feb 2018 - 3 months late. WORKMANSHIP * Planned to have our pergola posts wrapped in pavers but Tracy forgot to account for this in his measurements so we had to forego and accept a deduction in cost. * Poor grading of paver pad under the pergola causing water to pool in the middle instead of draining off to the sides * Poor grading of paver steps leading to pergola causing water to pool there as well * Poor concrete work restricting our side gate from closing * Refused to replace front yard landscaping rocks after project completion * Ficus columns died within months CUSTOMER SERVICE * Reached out to Tracy multiple times to resolve our issues but was ignored for months * Wife made a comment on social media which then prompted a reply from Tracy instantly * After seeing Tracy reply, we texted him a final time to see if he wanted to make things right and received a combative response claiming he "could not provide help after being destroyed on social media" -- The last time I checked, this is business and not a playground argument. Just used Yelp with trying back and forth to set up an actual in person estimate. First he says no because he has a minimum but after I tell him my sq footing is 750+ then he asks about cleaning and edging the writes me up a quote via yelp messenger. No way would I bother with any business that can't take an appointment to come out like a reputable business and provide me with an in person estimate. I've had six other companies come out and measure and provide samples and written emailed estimates. Edited to respond to Tracy's comment: The flooding of the turf was in fact this company's issue not "someone else's failed job." Before the turf was put in we had an irrigation company come and move the irrigation line to outline the yard, to avoid it being under the turf. We paid AZ turf & more $50 extra to have them connect the irrigation valve to the line that the irrigation company rerouted. The connection line that company did before installing the turf is what broke and flooded the yard. That is why we did not pay a different company specialized in irrigation to come out and check the leak. The leak under the sink hole was caused by AZ turf & more and it took them 2 months & our yard flooding to resolve it. If this company does not feel confident in fixing irrigation lines then that should be communicated before taking our money for it, taking 2 months to fix it, and then trying to blame another company for their own failed job. Our experience with AZ turf & more was great, until it wasn't. We had turf installed in June, and were very happy with how it turned out. Communication was good at this time, and they came out within the time frame we were given. 3 weeks after installation we noticed an area of sinkage in the turf. We reached out to this company ASAP, and Tracy came out promptly to check it out. We suspected a prior irrigation line was leaking, and decided to have their crew come out to pull up the turf in that area and confirm/ fix it. This is when things started to go south with our experience. 2 months pass by with us continually trying to contact them to schedule this work to be done. We were in contact with Tracy's wife, but were continually given the run around on why they were not scheduling us or coming. One of those reasons being that no other projects were in our area, and they wanted to schedule us with a nearby project since ours wasn't a full day labor. It took our irrigation line to burst, flood our yard (pics 1-3), and ruin part of the turf to finally get the crew out. They did mend the issue of them pushing off our work by fixing the ruined turf for us no charge. We then decided it was in our best interest to move our irrigation box off the turf and into the rocks, to avoid this happening again. We were reluctant to use this company for that, but ultimately decided to give another chance. 2 weeks after moving our irrigation box we noticed a leak that lead out of the box (pic 4). We contacted them ASAP, and were told the crew would be out within the week. A week later we were told that the crew came and fixed the issue, but being at home during that time we didn't notice them in our backyard. We checked out the box and it was clear no one had come to fix the issue. After notifying them that no one came out and fixed it as we were told, we were then told that they would be out the following day. Waiting around the next day for them, no one showed. When the evening came around I could not get any information from Tracy through his wife, and we were left in the dark on when this issue would be fixed. We finally communicated that we just wanted to get a refund and go elsewhere for help. The following early morning after that was communicated to them the crew showed up and fixed our issue. We were then txted that afternoon saying the crew came yesterday to fix the issue, but informed them it was actually done this morning. Point being, communication within the company is lacking. Overall we are happy with how our turf looks, and hope no other issues arise with it. Would we go with this company for future projects? No, simply because of the frustration of trying to get information from them, and the poor communication. read more

This is going to be a long and thorough review. Buckle up it's quite the story! After moving to Arizona from Colorado, we knew we landed in the right place. Once we found the perfect neighborhood to build in, we began contacting landscape companies. I never knew a market so saturated could treat people so poorly!! We met an employee (which shall remain unnamed), who did great follow up, assisting in picking out materials and was fantastic. Until the deposit was paid. He barely answered texts, would not return phone calls until much later and basically left us high and dry. We paid our deposit in the end of January beginning of February for a project to begin in May. We came up to the time in May one week before beginning. He never called us. We had to contact him. The Saturday before the project was supposed to start (May 10 or 13 was supposed to be the start date) he advised us that they did all items in stock and it would be finished by the 17th. Monday we contacted him as there were no product at our home. He advised my husband that in fact all the product was not there, unknown when it would be there and the 'goal' was to have it done by the 17th. No promises though and never a direct answer. We happen to be the pet parents of two Great Danes. Having dirt in our backyard was an absolute no!! I can see you reading this far. Asking yourself, wait why 5 stars?!? This is why - I called the main office furious. I talked with Nicole who is the office manager. I explained the entire situation to her. She expressed deep and true concern and had no idea of what was going on. She went to work! Immediately she reached out to Tracy the owner who called me the next day. We had a starting out rough conversation ending with him asking to make it right. I trusted him and I'm glad I did. Two days later we had sand at our house and within a couple of hours workers poured in. The worked late into the night (9 pm!) to finish the work. And, it was better than what we imagined!!! During the project there were questions on both sides and we stayed in contact with each other throughout the process. He wanted it right the first time. I trusted Tracy (Terry as I called him at first!), and he delivered above and beyond what we asked for. He was completely willing to return a sizable deposit we paid, but I trusted him immediately after listening. I did not fault him or his company for the lack of follow through of his employee. He handled it. He handles his business. I will use his company for any need that I have for landscaping from this point on. I would recommend them to anyone that asks. The timing was not great, due to the pandemic. They took out deposit and held for 2 months due to back logged materials. Understood. Close to a 30 k bid for turf, travertine , grilling space and pergola. Once started, guys moved fast. One concern was water run off, Tracy assured me no problems, they had measures in place. This monsoon season saw heavy rain and flooding all around the house. No run off, used a push broom into the pool to keep water off the pool deck. Like I said, team was great, bought everyone lunch, one gentleman even a beer on completion. Paid for everything but pergola sure to metal shortage, said they will keep us posted. Now, 6 months later wife can't get a call back. Grilling station is falling apart, tiles falling off and breaking, not very happy. Wife is being ignored and I'm less tolerable. Do not utilize this company. It was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. It started off great. Once Jeff got his money from me, he kept making excuses about sending someone from his crew to take care of my issues. The crew left huge oil stains on my patio due to their machine leaking, they broke my automated irrigation system even though they were not supposed to be touching it. After 2 weeks of them installing the pavers, there is grass growing between them because they failed to lay down any barriers for weeds or grass to prevent it from growing. The pavers were laid on top of my patio concrete which had grass growing in the cracks but I was assured by Jeff that his crew will take care of it. We have AZ Turf and more install turf and a travertine border that looks amazing. Crew worked hard, but they had plants to remove and some to move. No one on crew appeared to have irrigation experience as they ripped out old drip lines which damaged the main irrigation line. They used duct tape to cover the damaged in two different areas and then must have ran out of duct tape and had to use black electrical tape to cover damaged area. Pictures attached. There was a palm tree that had a drip line that after their work doesn't work now. Tracy the owner was contacted about everything and his comment was that I would of had to replace every two years and he said it was no big deal to run a new drip line to palm tree. read more

First off, we were promised our backyard would be done by Thanksgiving 2017.... and it wasn't completely until the end of January 2018!! So unnecessary and rude. He made multiple comments like this throughout the process. We've also had issues after the backyard was done. Our pergola poles were suppose to be wrapped with a couple feet of pavers. Tracy messed up the dimensions, making the pergola too big and the paver pad not big enough causing us to be unable to wrap the poles! There's grading issues with the paver pad under our pergola. Every time it rains there's at least an inch of stagnant water. Huge issue. A few pavers are sticking up. Missing rocks in my front yard from all the traffic. Huge cement chunk by the bottom of my gate so it won't close all the way. My garden was suppose to be on its own timer, it's not. Work looks sloppy overall. My husband has sent Tracy e-mails over the last 7 months and he wont respond. I called Tracy two weeks ago and finally got an answer. He lied and said he sent workers to come over last week and replace the rocks. NO rocks have been brought over. He told me to text him pictures with my concerns and he'll try to come over on Saturday (It was Monday) to look. It's been almost three weeks and still, no word from Tracy. I hate writing bad reviews and am all for redemption but I've had enough. If I could go back I'd spend $10,000 + to not go with this company.
