I had a facelift in 2007, and choosing Dr. Azar was one of the best decisions I've ever made. He is incredibly easy to talk to and clearly devoted his life to the art and science of plastic surgery. I had a liposuction procedure with Dr. Azar last year, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. This wasn't my first time undergoing plastic surgery, so I had a good sense of what to expect. However, I only saw Dr. Azar twice--once at the consultation and again on the day of surgery. Despite being scheduled for follow-ups, I never saw him again; I was only seen by nurses. While the nurses were kind and professional, the rest of the staff came across as cold and unwelcoming. As for the results, I followed all post-op instructions carefully, but I was left with uneven areas, lipomas, and scarring that includes both keloids and indentations. Sadly, I didn't achieve any of the results I was hoping for. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Azar or his practice. read more

First, I'm using a fake name so if they come on here and try to say they don't have a patient by this name, that's why. I have waited 5 years to write this review. I had a mommy make over with Dr Azar in 2021. Everything was so botched. My implant was placed wrong so it starts in the middle of my breast and goes all the way under my armpit. My breast looks deformed. On the other side, the implant moves so much it hurts. My areolas are insanely different sizes, even after a revision. The scars from my lipo are big and dark. My drains were placed in the weirdest places, making a scar where one didn't need to be. The worst part though, I have dents EVERYWHERE from the lipo. The worst one is down my side, from under my breast all the way to below my bellybutton. It looks deformed. Was too much was removed in one spot. Speaking of belly buttons. OMG, awful! I had a revision for that too and all it did was make a second scar. Please do not use him. There are 2 doctors in Westlake who are amazing. I'm not going to name them but there are 2 doctors in the same office. It'll be easy for you to find. I am FINALLY having this botched $35,000 surgery fixed. That doesn't even include the second surgery I had with Dr Azar that was $8,000. For that, 6 months after my first one, he assured me things would look better and I unfortunately I believed him. The second time I had a lower back lift. The scar is crazy bad. It slopes on one side and the other side is way higher. It looks like a kindergartner drew a crooked line on my back and it's too high to be hidden in a bikini. One day I'll have that fixed too. I had switched my surgery to Dr Azar at the last moment because the surgeon I had chosen was so far away. What a mistake. So sad about it! What got me to switch was his scheduler telling me, "Dr. Azar is a perfectionist! He won't finish until it looks perfect." What a joke! Edited to add - I forgot about my botox! I had botox one time in my life, with him. He must have hit a nerve or something becuase I was hugely swollen and brused and one side of my top lip didn't move normally for over a year. Even now, years later if you look closely you can see that one side of my mouth on my top lip sags. Honestly, I have no idea why I kept going back to him. I should've known better but when everything is still healing they just keep saying, these aren't your final results. read more

After 2.5 years, my results from Dr. Azar's liposuction continues to worsen. Obvious too much fat was removed. Both knee/leg areas now have very noticeable indents where cannulas was inserted. At first it was just my right leg, now my left leg is catching up. I should have cancelled my appoint when it was rescheduled to a later hour in same day. It was a holiday week and I believe I was the only patient scheduled for that day. I was told "Dr. Azar was up all night due to a personal matter". I feel he rushed through the procedure. Even his nurse mentioned how much fat was removed. Was this comment meant to be good or bad? I regret not mentioning this fact back in my first post back in 2023. Over further follow-up visits he was very dismissive and said that inserting fat back into the area wouldn't give guarantee better results. He neither offered or suggested he could or would do this. I am almost 3 weeks post op from lipo on my upper stomach/flanks and a tummy tuck revision. I am BEYOND thrilled w the results! Dr. Azar and team are the best in the business! I had gotten a breast reduction/lift and tummy tuck 'elsewhere' almost 3 years ago, and truly wish I had seen Dr. Azar instead of the local 'brothers'. I've had limited pain and almost no bruising w this surgery. With the last surgery w the other drs ( and with a very small amount of lipo done), I was severely bruised for weeks. You could barely see my bruising in the first week with this current surgery, and now, not even 3 weeks later, they are completely gone. I suffer from anxiety, and Dr. Azar's calm and caring bedside manner helped me calm down to the point that I didn't even need anxiety meds pre and post op! This is huge for me! I took my daughter three years ago to do the stitches on her forehead. As he is a reconstructive plastic surgeon, I thought he would do a good job and not leave the stitch marks on her forehead. I did everything he recommended, bought expensive creams, took her to follow-up appointments. Three years passed and the scar is horrible, with the shape of all the stitches she received on her forehead. I complained and the secretary said they can't do anything! I took my daughter to another plastic surgeon and he told me that the only way she got the stitch marks was that it wasn't taken at the correct time. How could ? Does the doctor let time pass or make a mistake like that? My daughter will now have this scar in the middle of her forehead for the rest of her life and he didn't even offer any treatment to make better or money back... with paid $1500 for the sticks . Really bad professionalism , I don't recommend this doctor to anyone!! read more

Dr. Azar performed liposuction on my legs they are still the same fat legs but even worse they are all lumpy and now I can never show my legs off again. He did not even offer to fix them without me paying for it. If I were to pay again to fix them I sure the hell would not go back to him. Very frustrated and pissed off even after 5 years. Poor Botox results that only lasted 6 weeks. I had to use a new provider because I recently moved to the area. I have alway gotten great results from previous Botox professionals. Very surprised and super bummed out to have such disappointing outcome. Had two follow up appointments which resulted in very little improvement. I saw Dr. Kouros for a weird dark spot under my eye that I was concerned about. He is a very nice man, but... he told me without a thorough look at the unusual "spot", that he just happened to have a very intense laser on loan that week and would like to try this laser on the dark spot under my eye. I consented, trusting him. He lasered the spot. Shortly after it was lasered, it became very, very dark and more noticeable than ever, so I went in to Dr. Kouros to have it checked. (this visit is not even noted in my legal chart that I have a copy of due to needing to see multiple doctors for the melanoma). At that appointment, he had nothing to say except to recommend other cosmetic services and photofacials. Knowing something was not right and more concerned than ever, I went to the right doctor. They did a biopsy immediately! The dark spot under my eye....directly under my eye, that Dr. Kouros lasered...was an asymmetrical nevis...that did turn out to be a melanoma. They were surprised Dr Kouros didn't recognize it as an asymmetrical nevis before attempting to laser it. I had to have it removed immediately!! I have since had multiple Moh's surgeries and reconstructive surgery. To make the matter worse...I asked, very nicely, for a small amount of money back from Dr. Kouros office (under the circumstances). The office manager, refused. Then I get a rude letter from the office manager telling me they WILL send me the small amount I requested IF I sign an agreement and retract my Yelp! The letter was so awful, it just made things worse!!! So I chose my review over $300 because of how poorly she handled this! It's not even about my procedure anymore, but about how the office manager is treating me in her way of "handling this situation". I should post her awful letter! ....I could've seen an attorney and cost them a lot more!!! But, instead just asked for a small refund of $300. Maybe I should see an attorney! **I notice that Dr. Kouros has 5 stars now...that was not the case a few months ago!!! (The manager must have sent out a lot of these yelp retraction letters and she probably was a lot nicer to his patients seeing how being rude didn't work!) All of a sudden there are only 5 star reviews...where did the negative yelps go?...... There is a sign in my new doctors office...you can find it on the internet. It has pictures of each type of lesion and it reads...... "Look for danger signs in pigmented lesions of the skin" Consult your dermatologist IMMEDIATELY if any of your moles or pigmented spots exhibit... A-Asymmetry B-Border Irregular C-Color varied D-Diameter larger ...they may be signs of a malignant melanoma. Now don't you think he should have know this? Initially, I was trying to be professionally correct in not going into detail on Yelp, just making consumers aware that there could be a problem...and to do their due diligence by paying attention, but was told that I needed to state my experience not a generic statement, so here is that information. This review follows all of Yelp's guidelines. Please, don't trust your face (or body) to just anyone! Below you will see that Dr. Kouros office responded to my Yelp....you will see my responses to his after each response. This is their response.... Them: We pride ourselves in communicating well with our patients. Me: THEY DID NOT. They didn't even read my chart or make entries regarding all of my visits. Them: For each patient who is undergoing a cosmetic procedure, we make sure the patient already has a dermatologist monitoring the patient's skin for skin cancers because that task is performed by a dermatologist, not a plastic surgeon. Me: They asked me at my consultation appointment and I stated I HAD IN THE PAST. (The office manager stated that I was under the care of a dermatologist...NOT ME! I corrected her and told her I was NOT under the care of a dermatologist. SHE wants to believe this, but it is not true. I will gladly send my chart to anyone that wants this proof, as well as, my list of EOB's straight from the insurance website for proof. I have nothing to hide.) Them: In addition, laser treatments for rejuvenation target the water in the skin, not the melanin, and this method has been proven for several decades not to cause skin cancer. Me: I did NOT say this caused the melanoma... I stated that the DOCTOR LASERED A MOLE that turned out to be a melanoma...instead of requesting a biopsy first! He didn't even know that it was a mole!!! Ridiculous!!! read more
