The standard of customer care shouldn't always be that the "customer is always right", UNLESS the customer is right... I know for a fact that the girl told me it was a rum and vanilla cake BECAUSE I ASKED FOR THAT ONLY. There was zero mention of guava and cheese. For the manager to call me and tell me I'm wrong is incredibly rude! To offer a $5 discount on another cake is incredibly illogical! To disrespect a client in making them feel they are lying without evidence is outrageous. As a business owner, in handling situations like this, the first thing you do is apologize for the circumstances, not by assuming fault, but as a mediator of positive resolution BECAUSE IT'S YOUR BUSINESS TO CARE. Then, offer whatever you think is fair given the circumstances BECAUSE YOUR REPUTATION IS ON THE LINE. We should require more responsibility from businesses that sell irreversible items like cakes.
