While I was still in Chicago, my wife started a dialogue with Tom, a very very nice representative from Chavis. Chavis was the only one who had the Speed Queen washer/dryers we needed, and Tom knew that, and was super friendly and accommodating. He warned me that I would have to order them as soon as possible once in Alabama, because, like everything, it would be delayed due to supply chain problems. It only took a month to order them and get them here, but by the 4th week we were swimming in dirty laundry. I sent Tom an email and told him this, and he squeezed me in for a faster delivery and installation. Not only was Tom professional and incredibly helpful, talking to me before I'd even shown up here in Alabama, but he was super helpful even after the sale, helping my wife pick out the right appliances for future purchases. All of this was sight unseen. I've never met Tom in person, and we've not even been to the store yet. Tom did all of this through a very lengthy, very friendly email exchange. I'm so thankful for Tom, because in a place where it's hard to even get a plumber or HVAC tech to come out, Tom hooked us up with some very hard-to-find appliances surprisingly quickly. He was also very funny, and very personable, cracking jokes and making a very tough move easier before we'd even gotten here. I just can't thank Tom and Chavis enough. Except for the bill (which was comparative to Big Box with much better quality), it was a great experience. There is everything possible in the showroom and what they don't have they can get. The staff made sure my experience was different than buying a dinner dress. Instead, we discussed plumbing, use, and durability. They even helped coordinate colors and accessories - none of which involve their products (unless you want a colored commode I guess). After with their help, I made my choices, they held the stuff. Why? So when my "man" picked it up I would get a builder discount. Nice. I think they deliver as well - everything is ordered. Doing business was easy. Shopping there is almost as fun as patio furniture/grill/new mattress shopping.

Now, Mobile Appliance will not pick up my phone calls and wants to charge me $300 for a handle. I have built and owned several houses and never had this much trouble with a dishwasher or small business. I like support local small businesses and typically they have better customer service than big box, chain stores. However, once again Lowes is the place to go! It seems that the quality of most models/brands isn't what it used to be and that the reliability really boils down to 2 main things: the Brand and the refrigerator layout. I decided to bypass buying a refrigerator from BestBuy and instead found Mobile Appliance. I met with Glen Hite and within 30-45 minutes, we had found a model we were happy with. He was extremely helpful and made the process extremely easy. He called and updated every step of the way. There was a significant wait time due to delays related to COVID but this was expected. The refrigerator actually arrived sooner than anticipated and the men who arrived to deliver and set up the refrigerator were amazing! They called beforehand to ensure we had power (Hurricane Zeta) and showed up in a timely fashion for the delivery/installation. They were very careful navigating the refrigerator through the house and handled the installation with great care. I was extremely impressed at the level of professionalism we experienced using Mobile Appliance. Now that everything is up and running, I have peace of mind that I am in good hands! I honestly cannot recommend them enough. PS - The showroom is very nice and actually gave my wife and I some ideas for future projects. Do yourself a favor and go see what they have to offer!
