The first time was for a lunch, where the salad (salmon, pineapple, and avocado) stood out. I went with a group of friends for dinner a few days later and all the food was great. I strongly suggest you go and try it out. If you're going for dinner, I would make a reservation as there isn't a lot of seating. This tiny little place is really a gem.

The hotel is outstanding. Wonderful. I highly recommend it. But the "new" restaurant is another story. BARF. I had possibly the worse meal of my life New Year's Eve at this restaurant. The food that they served was so bad it defies explanation; my companion and I left the dinner and returned to our room; it was that terrible. In my opinion, stay at the hotel. BUT eat anywhere else that is available. There are a lot of good restaurants on the island of Ortigia. I am sorry to say, in my experience and opinion, the Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel restaurant is not one of them.
