I have been absolutely blown away by the wonderful service at B/A Florist. I grew up in the area and used to get all my flowers for dances at B/A, but I moved away 20 years ago. A dear friend recently lost his mom and I called B/A to send a flower arrangement for the viewing. The owner, Laurie, handled everything personally and went above and beyond helping me pick out a gorgeous stone art piece for his mom's garden and then created a stunning garland to be wrapped around it for the viewing. She texted me photos and updates and was incredibly thoughtful throughout the entire process. I am so happy I remembered this gem of a floral shop two decades after moving away. My family recently had a memorial celebration in honor of our parents. BA Florist came highly recommended to us by MSU's Kellogg Center & Hotel and they did not disappoint! We could not have had a more talented and thoughtful team than Linda and Laurie! They listened so carefully to our specifications and double checked the smallest details. I got a preview of the flowers the morning of the event and they were lovely! Each arrangement a little different but all similar with some interesting greens and vibrant blooms. Beyond irritated and still contemplating calling them to bitch. A friend suggested I use them as I live in Chicago and I needed a florist recommendation. I told them I wanted to spend around $50 for my friend's 50th birthday bouquet. They told me with a glass vase and delivery fees and tax it would be $57. Fine. The woman was nice and said they would put together a nice autumnal arrangement. I trusted them. Well............I arrive at my friend's party only to find this arrangement: some greens, 2 or 3 red roses, 3 white carnations & a few pumpkin-colored mums! OMG - I was mortified! Not only was it ugly, but CHEAP looking! Have I been living under a rock? Is this REALLY a $50 arrangement? I was so pissed off. Never again! :( read more

Stopped in to B/A Florist today to pick up some flowers for boss's day. The store was full of beautiful plants and flowers. I loved their succulent gardens and the pre-made vases were all so pretty that it made it hard to choose which one to buy. They can also make custom arrangements if you'd like to pick your own flowers. While they are a little pricey, you get what you pay for. The vase I picked had a unique flower that looked like a fuzzy brain and it was a huge conversations starter at work! I will definitely be going here again the next time I need to buy flowers! read more

This place has been in East Lansing for I don't know how long but everyone knows about it. It's got a great location right on the corner on Grand River however getting out of the parking lot can be a pain. I found this place through past orders that I did for events. We had used them before and had a rate negotiated. The staff was nice but the quality isn't 100%. I only ordered carnations from them and sometimes they found it hard to get the quanitity I needed (didn't know those were so popular). However, they always had the orders on time which was a big help and the fact that we had used them in the past so working with them was easy. read more

B|A Florist is pretty much a mainstay in East Lansing, and while it's a little pricey, it's my first choice for cut flowers. Skip the arrangements and buy a few different varieties of florals and greenery and do it yourself for a lot cheaper. read more

Planning for a memorial service is obviously a tough period of time for anyone. When I needed to order flowers for just such an occasion, I was told that this was the place to go because of the caring customer service they give. Not only did they sit down and talk about what kind of flowers I was looking for, but they wanted to know about the loved one that I had lost. Received a delivered Bouquet that was expensive and it started to die the day after I received it. Tulips were not fresh and have drooped to the point of laying over on day two! Two Gerber Daisies are completely dead. Delivered is foam. Full of cheap daisies. SO not worth the price! DO not use them for delivered flowers this is their third strike with us. I spent $50 on flowers for my daughter and it was the smallest cheapest looking bouquet. Probably $10 worth of flowers thrown in a vase. read more

I have ordered from BA for years and rarely see the arrangements. This time, I was invited for dinner at the home of the recipient. I had ordered a cheerful spring bouquet and was assured that there were loads of lovely spring flowers in stock because it was Easter week. What BA delivered was a somber, weird, asymmetrical arrangement which I hated. Very disappointed. I think the quality of design at BA has declined over the last 2-3 years. Requested a spring bouquet for a friend. They said they could do tulips for 25.00 (with delivery 37.00). It was a cylindrical vase with rocks in the bottom and 3 stems of tulips that were shorter than the top of the vase. A unique idea but it looked very skimpy. A glass vase, 10 rocks, and 3 stems about 6 inches long for 25.00. Thankfully my friend appreciated the gesture because I was beyond embarrassed. Not the first time I have had skimpy arrangements from BA. Lesson learned. read more

I ordered flowers for my Mom's 70th Birthday and told them a time my Mom would be home/when. They wrote it down and when I called to check to see if flowers had been delivered they wrote down the time NOT to deliver them and are delivering when she is NOT HOME. So now I am SOL and highly disappointed. I will never spend my money there again. read more

I was disappointed when I ordered an arrangement to be delivered. I visited the shop and looked at their already-prepared arrangements. I said, "I'd like one like this, only a different color of carnations." They said OK. But the arrangement that was delivered to a friend had hardly any carnations, where the original had been stuffed with them; yet they charged me the same price as the original. I felt ripped off but nothing I could do at that point. To be sure, the arrangement was very nice, but I felt that they charged me way too much for it. This is a fine store to buy pre-arranged flowers and loose flowers, but I will not trust them enough to order a delivery from them again. read more
