Came to town from Grayland to run some errands and realized that my SUV hood wasn't fully closed. I put new wiper fluid in before heading out and thought it was shut all the way. It was latching but not fully closing. Realized this mid errands and panicked and looked for the shop closest to me with the best reviews. I came into B&B Automotive in a panic. The man at the front desk was so kind and promptly asked one of his mechanics to come out and take a look. The mechanic was amazing and kind and messed with the latch a bit and got it to work! He mentioned how it can get rusty and to WD40 it to avoid this in the futures. Quick, easy and so helpful. They really saved our bacon. Took our car in because of some weird rattling. They figured it out and fixed it. No problems since! The offered a shuttle service too so we could drop car off and still get home. Great work that was done in a reasonable time for reasonable and competitive pricing. They've gained my future business. I've had bad experiences with other mechanics, so I am pleased to have no concerns about taking all my vehicles to B & B Automotive and recommending others do the same. In my experience B & B Automotive is good, trustworthy, and fast. They were able to diagnose and fix a control valve problem that other mechanics had failed to do, and B & B did it for considerably cheaper and with greater professionalism. B & B was helpful and professional when I first called and they took notes about my truck's problem and quickly estimated about how much it would cost to diagnose. After the fact it turned out their estimate was accurate too, no hidden charges. I dropped my truck off and left it after hours the day before and B & B quickly had the issue diagnosed within an hour of opening and gave me a call to let me know exactly what it was, what the total cost with parts, labor, and taxes would be. They also let me know about other items of concern that were actually important and it didn't seem like they were just trying to get more money out of me, but had genuinely caught another problem. What impressed me the most was their honesty. After the diagnosis they called to let me know a part was being ordered and delivered from Olympia and to expect it to be done that day or following morning. However, the next day they called and said it was going to be done that afternoon because when the part arrived from their supplier the box had already been opened. B & B returned the part because it was opened and they couldn't guarantee it was going to work. I think a lot of mechanics would have just installed it and hoped it worked. Being that it was an electrical part who knows why the original box was opened, someone could have returned it because it was defective or worked intermittently, etc. B & B took no chances and simply returned it and ensured I got a brand new part they could guarantee before my truck was finished. read more

When I first took my 98 Camry to get an oil change here, I didn't think it would be much different from my oil changes at chain stores, except that I had to set an appointment. No, not quite. An oil change at B and B means they are going to check your car out. After my first oil change I noticed that they freed up a slightly sticky accelerator pedal. For my second, they changed out a turn signal light. These are things the chains won't notice much less service, especially without dinging you big time. And B and B's prices are competitive. Recently I got my tires rotated at another place, and they noticed that my struts were worn and could stand to be replaced. They gave me a quote of about $700. Since I like to keep my business extra local, and appreciate all the community things Butch Jobst and his wife do, I thought I'd ask B and B to take a gander at the car. Well, their estimate was about $500 higher, but they were including rear struts in the estimate. And the guy I talked to was really knowledgeable about why getting all the struts replaced would be good, what effect it would have on my car, why not replacing my struts was an option (but not necessarily a wise one) and why if I decided to get them all done at once it would save me money on the alignment. He also looked at my car's mileage and said Toyotas are "bulletproof" and that keeping up this piece of maintenance might seem like a big thing, but how it's no big deal considering the lifespan of the car. I know that's kind of what you'd expect a mechanic to say, you should get your car worked on, but the fact that he said I could get away with not replacing them was really something, especially compared to the other place, where I heard this: "You're supposed to replace them at 50,000 miles, so you're way overdue." I mean, it was just a totally different order of service and respect for me as a customer between the chain and B and B. My husband gets all his Volvo's work done at B and B and he's always liked the results and the way he's treated. Plus B and B will drive you to work in a courtesy shuttle and pick you up. The chains don't have that. I can't recommend B and B enough. read more

I had a WONDERFUL experience with b&b! Not only was Jeff (the owner I believe) absolutely wonderful, actually cares and doesn't cut corners, but they took wonderful care of my car. I needed a lot done to my little girl but they made her run perfect again!! He called me to keep me up to date everyday they had my car. They even found cheaper tires for me than the original ones discussed to help save some cost. Just passing through heading to kalaloch for my family reunion when or van starting making a bad noice. We called b & b who said bring it on down and we'll take a look at it. We were fearing it was the alternator. After the technician listened to it he determined it was the ac compressor. He did a quick fix allowing us to get back on the road so we could take it in to be looked at when we get back to our hometown. They got us in right away, super friendly, and helpful. You could tell he was looking out for our best interest when he could have just said it was the alternator to make money off of us. After explaining what I needed and that I was getting three quotes the guy said it wasn't worth their time to give me a quote. Having been going to the same mechanic in Seattle for a zillion years, I was apprehensive about taking my Saab someplace else. I got a repair once in Gainesville, Florida, and it was absurdly expensive and they also managed to strip several bolts that hold my ignition cartridge onto the block in my car. Awesome. So it was with mild trepidation that I entrusted my chariot to B&B in Aberdeen for a clutch replacement. Their initial estimate seemed -slightly- high, but having checked Yelp, I was operating on the assumption that good work wasn't necessarily cheap. I shouldn't have worried. B&B had my vehicle done ahead of schedule, and they also found and repaired another problem (an axle bearing) that I didn't even know about, and even with that other problem, they still came in only a few bucks over the initial estimate. Early? Under budget? YUP. They were also incredibly polite and a real pleasure to work with. Oh, and somehow after they fixed my car, the left channel in my stereo, which hadn't worked in years, started working again. They claim they didn't do anything to fix it, but I'm giving them credit for it anyway. I will definitely be back. read more

Class A Company & Service. I live 75 miles away, when my truck started making some troubling noises I did some brief internet research on B&B and decided I would go ahead & trust them to diagnose & repair my truck instead of spending $800.00 to have it towed home. Everyone was very friendly & professional, work was performed timely and I was on my way! Unfortunately we experienced some parts failures. I was able to make it home safely and when I contacted B&B they referred me to a local shop that I could take it to in order to evaluate my concerns. When they discovered that my bearings had failed, they towed my truck back to Aberdeen went through replaced all damaged items and personally delivered my truck back to my home the next day before 5 PM. B&B warranties their work for 3 years or 36,000 miles They don't just say it they mean it! I'm very satisfied with their work, their service and would recommend them. No one is perfect, vehicles are mechanical and they can fail at any given time, but a company who stands by their work and takes responsibility when things go south is very rare these days! read more

I would have given a one star rating, but they are mighty friendly people. I have dealt with B&B on a couple of occasions now, and I have found once consistent theme that can best be outlined using an analogy of the medical industry. If these guys were doctors, you would turn to them for help with an in-grown toenail, and come out a week later after a total hip replacement surgery. Now of course, you new hips will work great! Perhaps they gave you better hips than you had before. But your hips were expensive, and to get up to your hips they had to do your knee too, because if they didn't do your knee, it just wouldn't work well with your new hips and you'd be in later for a new knee....better to do it now right?? Wrong, you didn't need a new knee, and probably didn't really need new hips for that matter. Today, all you needed was someone to give you a hand trimming back and dressing up an in-grown toenail. GREAT business strategy on their part. But they are taking advantage of people who have little to no mechanical background. That and their abilities to diagnose problems correctly the first time is insufficient for the business they are in. What does this mean to the consumer, it means higher costs passed on to you with additional charges up front for diagnosis. I think Callie's review absolutely supports my complaint. Although we have two vastly different impressions of the company. My advice to Callie would have been to get a third quote, with the addition of the rear struts. The cost savings in doing them at the same time was no doubt minimal, but it appears to have been a very successful sales strategy. To wrap this up, I would advise anyone to get a second quote elsewhere BEFORE having B&B perform any work. The major drawback to this is that you feel trapped because you have already paid B&B several hundred dollars in diagnostic labor cost. However, this is a sunk cost regardless of whether or not they perform the work. The money and stress you could be saved by getting a quote elsewhere could greatly offset the sunk cost of the diagnostics. I hope this was helpful. read more

I had my car towed to B & B Automotive because the battery kept going dead overnight and the charging system checked out fine. They charged me $170 for a "diagnosis'. I told them if they couldn't find the problem to unplug the drivers side door lock because it no longer worked due to water damage. They removed the window/lock box from the door panel and broke the clips so it would not stay flush with the arm rest, told me I had "super glued" it down after admitting breaking the clips and never offered to replace the clips. Said I should flush the transmission fluid and other recommendations and to buy a new battery. They charged my battery and I drove the car home, the next morning the battery was dead again. After over 2 months of taxicabs my son drove up here from Sacramento CA. 1,500 miles round trip. He saw the battery terminal cable needed to be replaced which took 15 minutes. I would never recommend B & B Auto, even to change a tire. What a bunch of losers. read more

My wife took her BMW to B&B a couple of months ago because of a rattle in the water pump and the A/C-Heater was not working, They quoted 500.00 to replace the water pump and 1,000.00 to replace the Climate Control. I purchase a new water pump (German make) from a local parts house for 45.00 and had a local mechanic install it, less than an hour of time and he charged me 30.00. I then purchased a Climate Control on Amazon for 150.00 with a 2 year Warn-T, it took less then 15 minutes to install, just pop one out and pop the new in. Total figures w/ sales tax B&B = 1,627.50 My cost 225.00 (1,400.00 difference) This is the first time I have ever post a review, but I really have a bad feeling about this, read more

My girlfriend and I had her car repaired here. The diagnostics to do the repair was about $180... the actual labor and parts? About $50. There's something extremely wrong with this picture. I decided to give the business another try a few weeks back and was calling around looking for a general quote for a transmission flush. This is a basic service. They refused to give me a price quote over the phone, wanted me to come in to service the car. I explained I was looking for the best value for my dollar and they just didn't seem to care. That's not the way they do business. Now, I can understand not to give an exact price quote, but some sort of price range surely could have been given. I called six repair shops and they were the only ones not to give a price quote over the phone. read more

Expensive labor, but they do a good job. Most repairs come with a warranty, 3 years 36K if I'm not mistaken. Took Mercedes and Jeep to them for minor fixes and have not had an issue since. Would recommend if you're okay with paying for part warranties. read more
