    Soberal Tile and Marble

I had 4 cracked ceramic tiles in my kitchen/dining area that were starting to crack wider so I…read moregoogled to find a contractor to replace them. Yelp sent me several and I hired Soberal Tile and Marble through them to do the job. Unfortunately in the process 3 more tiles cracked and had to be replaced at an extra 50% cost. The job turned out well and matched the rest so I was happy with it. I wanted to install a backsplash in my kitchen and again googled contractors. Yelp sent me several and Soberal was one of them so I hired them through Yelp to do the job. I am totally dissatisfied with the work performed on this job. Ruben, the owner and installer, is of the mindset that I am not happy because the tile was entirely different from the display on the store wall which is not the case. I contacted him with the issues I have and he was to call and set up a time to come and discuss them. It's been over a month with no call so I can only assume he does not guarantee his work which is why I am writing this review. I sent him a picture of the first issue which is the tile around the left side of the window sill. It is poorly cut , the grout around it looks white instead of bone, and it sticks out like a sore thumb. The grout, which he recommended I purchase, is another issue. On the sink wall it is all gritty, sparce in areas, and looks like it will crumble out whereas the grout on the stove wall is not like that. It looks like grout should look. Improperly mixed on the sink wall??? After I contacted him another issue arose where the grout is receding and disappearing. The area was about 2 inches long when I first noticed it and it has continued to spread in other areas along that wall so now there is a space between the tile and the 4 inch countertop backsplash where the original grout was. I have no idea if this is going to continue. I contacted Ruben a couple days after the job was finished to let him know there were issues, along with a picture of the poorly cut tile and grout around it, and he didn't contact me until I said I was going to contact Yelp. Then he said he would call me to set up a time to see and discuss and nothing yet. I'm through waiting to hear from Ruben so I need to find a different contractor to see if these issues can be corrected without replacing the entire job at a huge expense to me. Yelp advertises 100% satisfaction guarantee and I hired both jobs through them so I am going to send them this review on a claim form and see what they suggest I do. That being said, I do not recommend Soberal Tile and Marble. UPDATE TO REVIEW. Ruben called, set up a time, and came out to look at the issues. I asked if he could regrout the bad area and he said that it would only crack again and the only way he could fix it was to caulk it. I really didn't want that but had no choice. He left to purchase the caulk and he and his partner removed the grout from the bad area on the sink wall as well as the grout on the other side of the sink wall and both sides of the stove wall where it met with the countertop backsplash. I wasn't impressed when they finished. The caulk not only filled the gap but missed a couple spots that look bad and also left a film on the top of the countertop backsplash and the bottom of the tiles which are now no longer shiny where the caulk is. Then when I asked him for the umpteenth time about the gritty grout on the entire sink wall and the non-gritty grout on the entire stove wall he told me grout is gritty which has been his answer every time I questioned it. If that's the case, why weren't both walls the same with gritty grout or non gritty grout. The grout on the stove wall is not gritty and looks like grout should look. He just reiterated there was nothing wrong with the grout job. He says that is the way grout is. I can't say with certainty but I believe a new second batch of grout was mixed for the stove wall or the batch that was used on the sink wall was refreshed by adding more water and remixing which could explain the difference. I really don't know why this happened. I think he realizes it is wrong but has to stick with what he has been saying. The photos I am attaching of the grout on both walls aren't really good but show enough so you can be the judge. When he was preparing to leave he repeatedly asked me if we were "good " and I didn't respond. Just stared at him while shaking my head sideways. I think he knows I am still not happy with the job. I don't think anyone would or should be happy with the grout being very gritty on one entire wall and not gritty at all on the other entire wall. He was paid in full so he hasn't lost anything. Unfortunately for me, I turned out to be the loser and had to deal with having to correct this which has now been done. I have one final word for Ruben - would your wife be happy if this job was done in your home. I guarantee you she wouldn't be happy or satisfied with it, as I am not, and seriously doubt anyone else would be. Since

We just…read moreweren't happy with the products others had, or the fact that they all wanted to rush the install. Nor would these other companies remove and replace baseboards. So we finally stumble across Amazing Floors. From my first phone call with Frank, to my quote experience with Daniel (owner). They treated us very well. I did not have to negotiate for an hour for a better price. Daniel gave me the best price out the gate. This price also included removing old flooring and baseboards, and installing new flooring and new Baseboards. The price even included repairing or replacing any damaged subfloor areas. Within reason of course. I did have 3 small sections of subfloor that need to be replaced. So just want to point out. All these big box companies I received quotes from would only do half the work for double the cost. Selecting then product, Frank was super patient with us when we went to the show room. We finally narrowed down to two options. He let us take large samples home so we could set it in different areas throughout the house to see which one we liked best. Once we made our decision, the rest was pretty seamless. They scheduled our install date, we had to change it a couple of times and they totally worked with us and were understanding about it. Install day arrives. The wife and I moved most of the furniture to the garage. I wanted the team focused on doing my floors, not moving my furniture around lol. The tore everything out on day one. Prepped and cleaned the subfloor and started laying the LVP flooring we selected. Should note, they also fixed any floor squeaking areas too. So they installed about 3/4 of the house on day 1. Then day 2 finished the flooring and installed the new baseboards. ( please note - a few weeks before my install date. The company dropped off my baseboards per my request. So I could paint them before hand.) so glad we did this, it made life so much easier. All I had to do is cover the nail holes and touch up. The Amazing floor team was very professional and courtesy at every level. We are so happy with our floor install. We will for sure use them on the future. I highly recommend using this company for your flooring needs.
