I called when my furnace wouldn't come on. They talked me into the service contract since the…read moreinitial part discount would pretty much pay for the contract. The technician tried a few parts and said it was the control card. Expensive repair but after I didn't hear back after a couple of days I called and was told they couldn't find the card or suitable replacement so they gave me a $10k quote to replace the whole unit. I asked if it was covered by the warranty since it's only 6 years old and he said they couldn't find any service records so the manufacturer wouldn't honor the warranty. I got a second opinion from another local company and they found a clogged orafice. Once cleared it worked fine and that said this unit will last for years and is still under warranty. Roland Black called a few days later to see if I want to schedule the installation or the new furnace. I explained what happened and asked to cancel my annual service contract and get that money back. She said she would talk to her manager but I have not heard back in about a week. I can't recommend Roland and Black. A friend told me they had a similar experience.
