When the outlet behind my coffee maker started making alarming noises, we shut off the breaker and called our regular electrician. After two hours with no response, we tried another. Still no reply. Meanwhile, the refrigerator was off too, and we were not about to lose all our food. We turned to Yelp. The reviews looked solid, so we called. They answered right away. A few minutes later, we got a text saying Daniel was on his way and would arrive in 16 minutes. And he did. We described the issue, he inspected the outlet, and removed the cover. The receptacle was cracked in five places, with melted and burned plastic. It was a dangerous mess that could have turned into a serious problem. Daniel replaced it, flipped the breaker, and everything came back to life. No more crackling. Coffee maker working. Fridge humming again. We are very happy with the service and have added Johnathon Brown Electric to our go-to list. If we have another electrical issue, they will be our first call. I sent him the specs for the install and he said he could do it but said I would have to pay an additional $600-$900 for his travel. I got with EcoFLow and they stated that I do not have to pay for travel because everything is included in the price of the installation service I paid to EcoFlow and told me that they would get in contact with Leroy to let him know to reach back out. A week went by and I never heard back from Leroy so I called him and he didn't answer. He called me back later that day and was extremely unprofessional. Raised his voice and told me he was not going to do the install unless I paid extra despite what EcoFlow had said and then he immediately hung up on me. Just do yourself a favor and avoid his services unless you want hidden fees and a lack of professionalism.

I called Southern Electric of the Carolinas (in Rock Hill) because I had a puzzling intermittent…read moreflickering lights problem on multiple circuits (but not all of them). The owner, Tommy Palmer, came to check it out to provide an estimate. He was able to quickly trouble-shoot and diagnose the problem. He suspected a bad connection inside my electric meter box. He immediately called the city electric company to open the meter box. There was, in fact, a bad connection. He immediately got a permit from the city to work on the meter and sent a crew (Ron & LJ) to work on it. They had to coordinate their work with the city electric company to disconnect my electric service at the street, have the city inspector approve the repair, and then have the electric service turned back on. They took care of all of the logistics and got the job done amazingly fast. While all this was happening, they also did another minor job for me at the same time. The bill for their work was quite reasonable.

They did everything from replacing/upgrading an electrical panel for one of our tenants to rewiring a 9,000 sq ft basement for amp-intensive business use. Mr. Adams even came out mid-summer on an hour's notice to assess a broken A/C. He identified the issue within minutes (it was a bad capacitor) and charged us for just that. I was absolutely amazed when Jim's quote for replacing BOTH units was comparable to the quote another large, heavily advertised company provided for replacing just ONE unit. If I choose the "Comfort" option, the total cost difference for replacing two units is only $3,995 more than the competitor's quote for a single unit.
