There was a short trail for hiking but I wouldn't recommend coming here for hiking. We still managed to get some fall colours in our photos which was nice. Remember to book your reservations online. We paid $35 which was a bit pricey but the fees cover admission to Christie Lake as well which would costs $25 for the 3 of us. We just went to Christie Lake a few weeks ago and didn't know about this deal. It's only about 7 mins drive to Christie Lake so we decided to go there for our picnic lunch after our walk at Spencer Gorge.

You have the option visit the 2 falls: Webster's Falls and Tews Falls by hiking through the trail or if you pressed for time or with limit mobility, you can just drive to both by car. If you do want to visit Dundas Peak then the only option is to park your car at Tews Falls and just walk there. I just love to listen to the sound of water and the view is enjoyable. A great mini hike next time if you are in the area!

Pouring rain, there was rain dripping into the centre of the boat. There was a hair in my salad. I had beef dinner, my husband had chicken. Both were less than good. I left most of my plate. Supposed to be choice of apple pie crumble or strawberry shortcake. The entire group was given strawberry shortcake. Coffee was bad. I didn't finish dessert or coffee. The boat felt dirty. They should really invest in new boats. The food should be better. The only thing that was good was the fresh bread. The captain of the boat gave us facts about the river, and interesting points about people that were born in the area, loon sightings, etc. The problem is that there is nothing interesting about the Grand River. It couldn't have been less interesting. Gift shop was like it was stuck in a time warp. All knitted, crocheted and sewn items that were possibly made 40 years ago. I felt like I had been teleported back to the eighties. Very disappointing and I do not recommend.

You see the Birlington Skyway Bridge in the distance. The park tucks under the York Street Bridge. There are historical info plaques along the path. Several benches. The rail yard hugs the same path on the opposite side so great up close and personal for train fans. Weird little Isla do man-made to help bring back a healthy fish habitat...that's where all the birds hang out. Active factory keeps belching out vapour plumes and some smoke plumes in the distance. Although the other reviews state it, no goose poop around in winter and our host says it's her favourite rollerskating run.

Even though the outside temperature is only 9 degrees, we are all having a great time. That's because the grandkids get to run around...and expend their abundant energy. The Tropical Greenhouse just opened and there's even a (premature) rose garden. Greenhouse is a bit on the small side and it was very humid inside. There were set trails to walk on, most of which were shaded. Other than a French Festival that was going on at the time, this park was pretty dead. If this place was downtown Toronto, it would be jammed packed!
