I loved how it wasn't overcrowded with animals, and you can tell they're very careful about safety--everything is well-secured to prevent accidents or escapes. The lions... wow! Absolutely majestic. Honestly, all the animals looked happy and healthy, and it really felt like they were in their own element. The drive-through safari takes about an hour to an hour and a half if you take your time, but you can also go through in 30 minutes if you're just cruising. We didn't try the food, but there were lots of options available, plus a couple of gift shops. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be going back! Whether you're with kids, your partner, friends, or even going solo--it's such a fun and unique experience. If you're in or around Toronto, this place is a must-see!

Plenty of animal variety. Not overcrowded or too busy. Not touristy or campy. It is a zoo experience, through and through. You learn about, interact with, feed, see and enjoy the animals. Animals are well taken care of and clearly happy. The exhibits are designed to be easily viewable. Staff are very friendly and the price is right. Free parking. The bad: None. The Ugly: None. Special Note: As with any zoo, please respect the animals and follow the staff lead regarding how to interact with them.

Amazing, fun, and plain great…read more We didn't have any expectations, and were pleasantly surprised by the owner's dedication to the business - she's actually going an extra length to educate people about ostriches, by showing instructional videos and etc. In addition to the obvious, i.e ostriches, there are also exceptionally adorable bunnies (think the Easter bunny movie), little goats, chickens, ducks, guinea fowls and etc. Lots of space for the kids to run around and have fun. I highly recommend using the opportunity to eat ostrich meat - they serve steaks and little samplers, so come hungry. You can also buy raw meat to take home - I did, and loved it. Tickets include everything except feeding animals. We enjoyed the tractor/tram that could take you to different stations as the place is pretty big so there is a lot of walking. It comes decently frequently but can be hard to get on midway. The high ropes course, rides and splash pad are all great activities when the kids have gotten their fill of seeing animals. We loved seeing the red panda, listening to the monkeys call out to each other, seeing the lions and bear. We also visited the farm animals and reptile house. It's not cheap but the price does include a lot of various activities so definitely will get your moneys worth if you stay all day to try all the activities.

Having something as fun and as historical as the Buffalo Zoo in your backyard makes it easy to take zoos for granted. The layout and design is perfect for pretty much anyone, from kids with no attention span to adults just looking for a place to take an interesting stroll. Getting a membership and visiting whenever I feel like it has been a great decision and it's highly underrated in the winter. You basically do a giant circle and can't really make any wrong turns even though you have a lot of things to see and a lot of choices about the order in which you see them. The renovations and upgrades that the zoo has put in place have made a really great place into an incredible one. I literally try to go to the rainforest every couple of weeks during the winter because it's an instant cure for the heavy Buffalo snow. It's not necessarily related to the zoo so much as the design, but the way it faces Delaware Park and has the buffalo enclosure open for the public to see makes me smile every time I see it. TLDR: one of the best zoos in the country. Not the biggest but definitely one of the most well planned and fun to visit.

The size of the enclosures actually seems decent. The animals seemed happy. The wolves were playing together in the snow. The polar bears were wrestling. It felt quite special to see those animals thriving in the snow. The zoo has many paved paths and signs. They also give you a paper map when you first enter. Since it was winter make sure to enter the inside facilities to see more. The restrooms were warm and clean! They even had a way to call if a restroom needed service. For three adults it was about $96 CAD. We spent probably two hours there and saw almost everything. Although we went on a weekend, it wasn't very crowded (likely due to the cold). It looks like a very well maintained zoo that's only 15 min drive from Little Portugal, Toronto. It was a fun time!
