I contacted them last week about putting a new roof on a home that I had under contract and it was scheduled for this last Saturday. They were also going to replace trim work in multiple places around the exterior of the home. I drove over to the home early evening on Saturday. When I first pulled up to the home, I was initially irritated because it didn't appear anyone had even been there but after getting out of my car and walking around the home I realized they had done the work as requested. There was not even a speck of paper on the ground. They did the entire job the same day as promised. They are competitive and again do excellent work. I just wished all the contractors I use did as good a job as 1st Choice Roofing.

The previous contractor had left it with visible drywall screws wide exposed cuts, etc. It looked terrible. After panicking because our countertops were scheduled for installation and looking through Jasons Yelp photos, we knew we needed to get on Jason's schedule. He books out sometimes 3 weeks, and this was last minute. We ended up delaying our countertop installation by 3 weeks in order to have him do the work. Waiting for Jason to do the work was 100% worth having a plywood island top for those 3 weeks. He showed up on time and got right to work. His cuts are precise, and the extension he built looks like it's always been there. We ended up hiring him to extend our kitchen cabinetry to the ceiling and add crown molding to it, as well as add trim pieces to our cabinets' blank sides before we had them painted. We also hired him to modify and install a wood hood over our stove top. Everything came out perfectly. We are more than impressed with his work and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. This guy is a professional and the best kind. There was not one bad surprise with him. He even gave me some tips, as I was filling the cabinet handle holes prior to getting them painted. This company came recommended to me by another construction related business. My initial impression…read morewas positive. The came out, look at my proposed job and provided an estimate. When the time came to actually start the initial stages of work, they proposed a time when I could not be home. Based off my initial positive impression, I agreed. The day before the work was to be done and with no prior notice, they demanded payment in full before ever setting foot on my property. I offered to provide payment when they arrived, if they would reschedule to a time when I could be there to see the work being done. They declined to reschedule and only sent snide emails saying they could no longer do the job. That is a gigantic red flag for fraud in my book. Use this company at your own risk. Follow up to the owners response. There was no advance notice stating payment was required in advance. I was only notified by email the day before that payment was required in full before the visit. I would never have agreed to have the work done without me being there if this was known. I DID NOT refuse to pay. I attempted to reschedule when I could be there. My calls and e-mail were ignored until I finally received a snide email from Ms. Lawler saying your policy of payment in advance was clearly listed in the quote. I double checked. There was no mention of advance payment being required anywhere in the quote. I made every effort to rectify the situation before posting this review. Your response was decidedly unprofessional.
