I have roadside assistance but after the big snow storm they would only come out if I gave them 100 bucks more.

Midnight Towing & Recovery

Midnight Towing & Recovery

Midnight Towing, specifically Wilson Pickett, did an excellent job. I answered an ad selling a 100…read moreyear old safe for $5. The owner got it in a self storage unit he won at auction. The seller, my son, and I worked maybe 2 hours trying to lift the safe using ramps, a dolly, and a motorcycle jack to get it on my trailer, to haul back to Newport News. The seller had to leave for another appointment. After maybe 30 minutes more in the sweltering heat, my son and I decided to call a tow truck company to lift it onto my trailer. Midnight towing was the third or fourth company I called. The first few didn't have a driver available, or didn't have a truck with an old fashion crane on it. After maybe another 20 minutes Wilson came with his flat bed wrecker. I told him right away I'd requested a crane. He replied "We'll make it work one way or another". Sure enough with his air jack he raised it high enough to get on the corner of his flatbed, and set it the trailer. He then nudged it forward of the axle, centered on the trailer. I was expecting to pay $150, but he said $125 would do. He really knows his equipment capabilities. I'd highly recommend him to tow your car, or to deliver a safe for you. Later I estimated the weight at 2000 pounds. The seller had guessed it only weighed 500. -paul

Very impressed with the service, quality, and value. It's comforting to know there are still some…read moregreat folks willing to go the extra mile to help out when you really need it. And Midnight Towing & Recovery and Wilson Pickett took great care of us. My 22 year old daughter was on her way back to North Carolina late one Saturday night when all the warning lights on her dashboard came on and her car broke down in St. Petersburg VA. She didn't know anything about cars nor did she have anyone local to call. My wife and I live in NY and searched the internet for a towing company, saw some good reviews associated with Midnight Towing, and decided to give them a call which turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Right from the start, Wilson put our minds at ease. He gave us an overview of the area, including hotels, car rentals, and potential auto shops [we went with Master Transmissions who fixed the car in 2 days at a very, very reasonable price but that's a different story]. When Wilson picked up the car, he also let my daughter ride along to drop off the car at the auto shop so she would know where it was being fixed and also drove her to the car rental -- the service was simply amazing and Wilson was so kind. Many thanks Wilson!!!! Highly recommend this towing service.

Fletcher's Towing is the only company you should be calling to tow your vehicle!…read more I was stranded on a Saturday night with mother's day being the next day. He dropped everything he was doing to come get my car where it needed to go! He is thoughtful and treats your car exactly how he would to his own. I always have peace of mind and trust for my Corvette to get handled perfectly. It is very inexpensive for the quality of work. Look no further and give them a call! John

This is a five star review so you already know my thoughts, but after speaking with Chris today I…read morethink it's important to go into a bit more detail. For any company out there HOW they do business is just as important as whether they do a good job. Read on. I'll try to entertain you along the way I promise. I don't know jack about cars. It's not my thing and never has been and I always feel like an idiot when something goes wrong because while it would probably be a good idea to learn what makes my car go VROOM VROOM life is too short and I have other things I'd like to spend my time on. So one day I wake up and my car won't VROOM or even turn on. Crap. It's stuck in the drive way and there's no easy way to jump it in the position it's in. How do I even jump a car? ::Googles how to jump a car:: "Jumping your car might lead to injury death and maybe destruction of electrical equipment/starter" oh nice great easy I'll pass thanks. I called a few shops, some big, some small. All of them tell me it's an alternator problem based on the dash lights, age of the car, etc. I'm told I shouldn't try and jump it because it could die at any moment which might lead to me dying any moment so just have the car towed and they'll do some diagnostic work on it. My BS detector starts perking up but again, not a car guy. I look on yelp and see that Sam's is pretty close to where I live so I put out a request for a quote. Yelp told me they would send it to a few people I said sure fine whatever. Within a few minutes I get a message from Chris asking for some details about what's wrong with my car. I tell him it won't start and relay what the shops told me. He gave me a quote and said he could squeeze me in sometime today (we spoke yesterday evening). Oh I also got an automated message from another towing company this morning, and the third one never bothered to respond. Fast forward to this morning Chris shows up at my house and immediately pulls out a jump kit to get my car started to rule out the alternator problem. Why? He's the guy towing my car why does he care....? It starts and stays start-ed. He tells me to skip the shop and go to advanced auto where they can test my battery and throw a new one in because it's definitely not my alternator. (I also googled what an alternator was because cars are ::waves hands:: made of magic or something). There was a service charge for him to come out which I felt was more than fair for the amount of money he saved me. Turns out it was just a dead battery most likely from the heat and not going anywhere/working from home. He could have made more for towing me a mile down the road and let the mechanic figure it out but he didn't. That is....so important these days. In the business I'm in, integrity is in short supply (Real Estate. Don't even get me started), and honestly it seems like it's in short supply everywhere. Nobody is honest with each other and it's very rare you come across people, let alone business owners, that aren't trying to skin you alive and pull a fast one on you to make an extra buck. Chris didn't do that. He was professional and honest. I know he wasn't trying to just fix the issue so he could cut and run to the next job. We sat and spoke for a bit while the car ran just to make sure it wouldn't abruptly die. After he left I almost felt like I ripped him off for not ripping me off. Is that weird? That's weird isn't it. Anyway five stars A+ would definitely call him for any future towing needs and you should too.
