I paid a $300 deposit to book an appointment to drop off my project 3 weeks in advance. After waiting an additional FOUR weeks after drop off, I inquired when my project would be done, only to be told they were short handed and didn't have a date. I waited SEVEN weeks for my project. I requested my excess fabric upon pick-up, only to be informed it was not saved - I had purchased at least a yard overage at $60 a yard. The workmanship was good, hence the generous 2 star rating. The customer service was miserable. There are other options available and I wish I read the other reviews before booking. Buyer beware. read more

My experience follows other one star reviews; the same as Paul N., KP 2, AC., Alan J, and Deborah H. I currently have had two cushions at bbworkroom Since January 14. The promise was to have them back to me by Feb 15, as I would have 24 people in my home and needed the cushions returned or finished. No calls, no calls back. Bernie runs Boca Bargoons and refers upholstery jobs to his wife Robyn at BBworkroom. I love Boca Bargoons, but will never go back to bbworkroom. Almost three weeks after my promised date, I called to pick up the cushions. As it turns out they began to work on my cushions on 2/21 (5 days after they were supposed to be done) and needed clarifications. They emailed questions to an old email address, even though the current one was on the order with the rest of my information. When I called on March 2, it was as if it was my fault for not responding to an email that I did not get. I gave them the measurements and assume they might start. Terrible customer service!!! Years ago, I used them and I'm embarrassed to say they were even worse. I ordered a Bed spread that was expensive material purchased from Boca Bargoons, and the work was a throw away. Never put on the bed. It was supposed to be two contrasting fabrics, but they didn't use both fabrics, and the bedspread came with an ugly seam through the middle of it. They are conveniently close to me, but I will NEVER use them again even though I have many projects. I will try the number that Deborah H recommended in her one star review. No return calls . So many dates promised for installation which never happens . She demanded 100 dollars upfront and did not credit the invoice. BB Workroom is owned by the same owner as Boca Bargoons. They do upholstery of furniture. It's a workshop in a warehouse. When you first walk in you will see a few woman sewing. Using machines or their hands. Ya see, that's how upholstery is done. It looked like these women knew what they were doing. It also looked like the workshop was a mess but I guess it was just cluttered and I got the feeling that they knew exactly where everything was. I was directed to "the office", which was smaller than my walk in closet and my walk in closet ain't that big. I was helped by EUGENE , who immediately translated what I wanted and needed to know about the bench cushion and pillows I had brought with me. He quickly agreed that the foam insert of the bench cushion was dead and of course they would start from scratch. He had loose leaf binders with all sorts of designs and measurements. He measured my pieces and gave me prices. I asked if he could offer a senior citizen discount and he gave me a big smile with great welcoming eyes and said "no". I then asked about a post Black Friday discount and he laughed. I accepted the prices he gave me as I wanted the pieces done and figured that they would do a great job. He also told me exactly how much fabric I would need, as I required that Information to purchase it from Boca Bargoons (or elsewhere). Note, the reviews for them are horrible. I ignored them. I figured those were disgruntled customers and for a business to be around as long as they were they had to be doing something right. My initial experience was good. I was explicitly told it would take 2 weeks for my job to be done, maybe less, but they would not commit to less than 2 weeks. That was fine with me. I will post pictures of the finished pieces, and try to get a few of their workshop if allowed. Note, custom upholstery is not inexpensive. If you're not willing to open your wallet then don't come here. read more

Would never recommend using this business. They were reahpolstering a chaise in my master bedroom. It was a disgrace when I finally got it back months later. Very poor workmanship. It was a mess. Didn't resemble what it was originally. Robin was a nightmare to work with. Never returned calls and constantly lied about date to be ready. They picked it up to redo/fix. So sorry we did not read these reviews before we commissioned B & B workroom to make a coverlet and shams. We purchased our fabric from Boca Bargoons and they recommended B&B work room. The size was wrong, the workman ship was far from professional and the shams looked like they belonged on a child's bed. The fabric is white and they used green thread for the underneath surging which shows through the finished side. The price was on the high side so you would expect an excellent finished product. It also took weeks longer then we were told. The owner was scattered and communication poor. They don't even have examples of styles to show you so you have to guess and go by their recommendations. She said to send a picture of the object I wanted reupholstered. I did so and never heard back. One of the worst companies to work with. It took them 7 weeks to make 2 pillows. I called them twice to see when the pillows would be ready and NOBODY returned either call. When my friend got in touch with them to tell them that if they are not ready by the end of the 7th week, we wanted to cancel. Surprise...we got a phone call that day that the pillows were ready. I had to pick up the pillows at their workshop and not where I purchased them...do you think they could have told me that when they called? Had seat cushions made for my kitchen chairs. One started to rip just a few weeks after I got them back (which took forever..."Oh, we left you a message. NOT"). Now the velcro on two of them keeps coming undone so when you sit down on them you need to brace yourself from slipping off the chair. What a NIGHTMARE. Never ever ever has there been a more unprofessional and dishonest company to work with. We paid for our drapery in Feburary 2014 for installation in April 2014. The date is now July 27, 2015 - yes you read that right, 2015 - and our drapes are STILL NOT INSTALLED. We have heard excuse after excuse, lie after lie. The dye lot wasn't right. The length wasn't right. The manufacturer screwed up. You name it, she did it. Robin has had our money for 18 months and has been completely incapabale of installing our drapery. I used BB Workroom to make new cushion covers for a Mid Century Modern Chair I inherited from my family. The workmanship was excellent and the prices were amazing. The job was completed very quickly. When you enter the front door, you basically enter the workroom floor and can see everyone at work. No doubt this place does a lot of work as can be seen from the tons of pillows, curtains, upholstery in plastic wrap ready for pick up along the wall. Stay away! Window treatments ordered for our condominium clubhouse were late by about 6 months. They were incorrect. Promises were made to redo them as ordered. That was another 6 months ago. Nothing. Consistently being lied to by owner. Paid in full to the tune of around $8,000. Can't even comprehend how they stay in business. Lawyers next step... 6/3/15. Now it is one year and still no progress. Even getting a callback is not happening.. Lots of promises and lies but no action. Lots of excuses. One year and counting to fix a problem they caused. Every detail of the couches and pillows was perfectly sewn and the new cushion material is so comfortable and supportive. I have used BB Workroom on more than one occasion for rocking chairs, bar stools and a bench. Although once it did take longer than promised (by about two weeks) on the other pieces they were actually ready before they were originally promised. I think it is a small business and they often get backed up with too many orders, but the quality of the work was good, as was the reasonable pricing, and I plan to use them again and would recommend them to people. read more

On April 5, I placed an 800 deposit on order for drapes and rods and was told it would be 4-6 weeks by Robin, the owner/manager...called week of 5/21 and was told a seamstress had been out 1 week and hopefully drapes would be ready next week-next week was told i was wrong seamstress was out 2 weeks, but drapes were in process-asked about rods and was told they were not in and she would call me next day-no call, waited til after mem. day and called tues.--Robin was out of town--a very nice clerk apologized-checked order-drapes had not even been started and rods were not in--the owner outright lied to me on several occasions--AND i had bought my fabric at Boca Bargoons, which they own--they lost a $1900 order and a customer-and i won't be buying fabric at boca bargoons anymore either-don't bother going to this place read more

I am having the same problem as the other post. I purchased the material at Boca Bargoons for a club chair before Christmas. I gave Robyn a $500 deposit. I was told that my chair would be ready the end of January. January came and went and no call from Robyn. I called several times in February and finally got a call back from Robyn who said the frame had come in and it was not right. I asked when the chair would be ready, as it was already 4 weeks late. She did not want to give me an answer and started to say 6 weeks or so. I told her that was not acceptable that I was having company and needed it by March 6. I called several times beginning in late February and never received a call back. On March 1 I went to Boca Bargoons and asked if BB was a reputable supplier. The manager called and Robyn picked up the phone immediately. She told the manager that since it was not just re-upholstery but a new chair, I should not have expected it in January as she told me. He became very hostile toward me, stating that I should not have expected the chair in January. I told him that there was no excuse for not communicating with your customer and giving the wrong date just so that BB would get the business. When he called her, she told him that the chair would be ready on March 6. It is now March 8 and, of course, when I call Robyn, I get voicemail and no call back. Pat read more

I recently had very expensive bedding and a table skirt made by BB workroom. Lied to me about time frame. Impossible to get a return call. When I finally received my order it had to go back for correction. Table skirt is the worst example of workmanship done by "professionals" that I have ever seen. Never, Never use BB workroom. She promised me my drapes in 4-5 weeks and 17 weeks later I finally got them. The workman ship is horrible, my daughter could sew better. They were returned 3 times for mistakes, seam was unacceptable, hem longer than the fabric, they are still crooked at the bottom. She lied to me numerous times, always an excuse never a solution. I was afraid to send back again as I probably would not ever see the fabric I purchased, she is so unprofessional and never returns your phone calls.
