Staff were extremely unprofessional and rude, and massage was terrible…read more I went with my partner, and we were placed in adjacent rooms. Our two therapists were talking to each other in Thai constantly; something I've never experienced at any other parlour. However, during my massage, I had to ask multiple times for the guy to ease up on the pressure. He did not seem to know how to give a Thai massage as a good 90% of the massage was just him pressing his elbows in and grinding. Yes that's a Thai massage technique but it's not the ONLY one, and I've never felt someone grind as hard as that. After the second time I asked him to use less pressure, he made a comment to the other masseuse (in Thai) and they both laughed. I found out from my partner afterwards that he was actually badmouthing me. I am appalled that a company would allow this behaviour. The real kicker was that the massage was only 50 minutes. We started quite late; 17 minutes after our booking. Had to wait the entire time in the room so I had nothing better to do but watch the clock. However, we then ended about 5 or 6 minutes after the schedule end time; a full 10 minutes short of the 60 minutes it was supposed to last. At that point I wasn't going to try and force the issue as I wasn't happy with the massage anyway. Why ask for more of something you don't like? I've tried multiple places since moving into the area and I've never had an experience like this. Definitely will not be back.

Was my neck broken, did I break my neck?…read more The day I gingerly approached this temple of Thai healing I was a broken man. Danielsan was not a well boy. Unlike the karate kid, I had no Mr Miyagi with which to give me a white hot hand slap to bring my vital signs back to life. But, I soon realised that I did not need him... The all female crew at Mumsabai make Miyagi look like a first-year rookie at a TAFE massage school. As I entered I was greeted with a shy hello and asked which of the services I was interested in. I opted for a 60 minute traditional Thai massage with reflexology. I was ushered through a velvet curtain and once ready I was asked my preference of pressure. I chose hard, and I was regretting it early. The ladies might be tiny waifs but the strength in their fingers is such that they could shatter concrete like a sledgehammer. The knots in my shoulders and neck were like a sailors taut-line hitch but seasoned fingers dug them loose whilst paying particular attention to my neck and the back of my skull. The tension was such that my pain threshold exceeded excruciating and I found myself for the first time ever tapping out in a massage. I've had plenty of remedial massages in my time with burly men putting forearms through my iliotibial bands which brought laughter born of too much pain, but this was another level of pleasurable torture entirely. The foot reflexology involved a technique I had never received before. A sharp tool, like a sewing needle, was employed to extract a greater response from my body and it was perhaps the greatest foot probe I've ever endured. Once complete I thought the massage was over... but I had a final 20 minutes in store. Firstly, I was put in a position that can only be described as Sting's scorpion death lock. Unlike the wrestler's finishing move I wasn't pinned to the mat, I was lifted gracefully and effortlessly by this tiny girl right off the table and was floating in air as my back and neck had their tensions released. Returning me to the bench she finished up by interlocking her hands inside my raised arms and re-aligned my verterbrae with an expert touch. After this massage I was the Zen Master. I felt like a trillion bucks for the next 2 weeks. Highly recommended. Wish I was here right now!

No. I walked in off the street without a reservation, with a friend to get a massage together, and it the prices were very good, and the place looked clean and staff friendly. It was $45 for 45 minutes, and $5 extra for oil. We had a full body massage, from head to toe. The traditional Chinese staff were excellent, polite and respectable. The thin and long store isn't the most fancy, just a basic set up, with 3 or 4 massage beds, and some quiet asian music set the scene. As my first massage experience in Australia on Oxford street of all places, it was pleasant and felt amazing! I'm sure to go back there, to make use of the coupon card they offered us for multiple visits. If you don't want 45 minutes, they offer half an hour, or an hour as well, roughly a dollar a minute. They also offer acupuncture and reflexology at affordable prices.

The decor is simple and it's just one small room separating each person by a curtain, so not a day spa, but you will definitely leave feeling better than when you came in!

I just came back from my first 30 min neck, shoulders and back massage for $35. Must say that after…read moremy first session, I can already really feel the difference. My shoulders and neck have become as stiff as a board from sitting at my desk for hours every day. However, 30 minutes later I can now actually rotate my head and shoulders again. If you've never experienced a 'real' Chinese remedial massage before, it is very different to the more common Thai massages which are great but seem to do more for one's mental well-being. Chinese massages are more about dealing with core problems and getting your body sorted out like getting the knots out of your neck and back. My massage therapist had hand strength that was phenomenal bringing a new definition of a fine line between pleasure and pain! There are many positives about Healing Hands. Most importantly, the massage was great and effective. Other positives; extremely reasonable prices which become even better after you get back a health fund rebate, easy parking, friendly staff who can communicate in good English. I'm going back again next week for session 2. I read that they also offer a variety of other therapies like cupping and foot reflexology which I'd be interested in trying down the track. If you are looking for a luxurious spa environment, this is not the place for you. Healing Hands is clean, comfortable and minimalistic inside. The location is tucked in a bit so quite easy to miss if passing by. You would come here to get your body sorted out without the bells and whistles and they did this very well for me (so far).
