Do not even attempt treatment here if you care about the quality of care you or a loved one gets. Often patients don't even get the therapist promised for up to 2 months. Patients exiting hospitals will flounder if not given support from an assigned therapist to help them make the transition to a new environment. This causes unnecessary angst and distress to those already in a somewhat fragile state. Shame on you Altium! PS. this does not mean there are not some nice and caring staff there, but the benefit is not worth the risk Just my opinion.

My only complaint is that the dr. we saw didn't really explain things very well to us. She didn't really tell us what each treatment did or educate us. Every night i was in fear of the impending call or knock on my door. Annies house was our saving grace. If it wasnt for Annies House and Staff, my daughter would not have her life back, and i would not have my daughter back. She is still in recovery and its been almost a year. He immediately had me take some x-rays, which I thought was going to be a huge waste of time and money because it was obviously just a muscle issue. I wouldn't be walking if it was bone, right? I was so wrong. Turns out that the injury is actually a broken pelvis. Dr. Nelson's intuition and on-site imaging technology changed my entire season over about the course of 5 minutes. I'm so grateful he didn't just do the basic physical that most doctors would have done and just assigned me some strengthening exercises. He got to the heart of the issue. What impresses me most about Dr. Nelson, however, is his bedside manner. He was so kind when I burst into tears and has been patient with me when I have argued (again and again) about what exercises he'd let me do. He knows I'm extremely competitive and is good at harnessing that to help me be the "best healer" I can be and get back to racing as quickly as possible. The whole staff is super kind and courteous. It's easy to get an appointment. Although I can't quite say it's been a pleasure being their patient, they couldn't make the experience any better.

had an extremely upsetting experience with Advanced Sports Medicine Clinic…read more I came in experiencing significant lower back pain, and I specifically told the doctor that I was also having abdominal pain and symptoms that were concerning to me. The Doctor still proceeded and gave me two steroid injections in my lower back. Shortly after being seen there. my condition became significantly worse and I ended up in the ER. I went into urinary retention, required a catheter, developed severe weakness in my legs, and eventually lost the ability to walk normally. I was ultimately hospitalized while doctors tried to determine what was happening. What has been especially difficult for me is knowing that I was trying to communicate that something felt seriously wrong with my body before everything escalated. Regardless of what ultimately caused my neurological symptoms, I wish my concerns and the combination of symptoms I was reporting had been taken more seriously and that I had been advised to seek a higher level of medical evaluation. After everything I went through--the ER, hospitalization, skilled nursing home, loss of mobility, bladder issues, and the ongoing recovery, I was honestly shocked that the clinic had the audacity to call me and still pursue my copay as though this had been an ordinary visit after what they put me through, given the circumstances, I would have expected significantly more compassion and consideration. This experience has had an enormous impact on my life, and unfortunately I would not feel comfortable returning to this clinic or recommending it to someone experiencing complex or rapidly worsening symptoms under this clinics care.

My son had neuropsych testing here a year ago, and we had to have it redone this year by a…read moredifferent professional. The neuropsych report from Steinmann was brief, did not include diagnoses, and was not what the University needed for accommodations. Also, Sugarman stated in her report that my son did not have ADHD while for the past year he continued to have symptoms consistent with ADHD. The professional we saw this year found that my son does in fact have ADHD. Dr. Sugarman herself did not meet with my son to administer tests, this was done by office staff. She spoke with my son for about 5-15 minutes to ask him what college accommodations he was looking for, assuring him she would provide that, but not to glean any additional information to complete the evaluation itself. We received the evaluation which was 6 pages long, mostly consisting of charts and missing recommended accommodations and any diagnoses. She briefly spoke with my son after providing the report (for about 5-15 minutes), during which she tried to sell him on a costly treatment called computer assisted cognitive remediation that she provides. In looking into the recommended computer assisted cognitive remediation treatment, it did not appear to be an empirically validated treatment. Dr. Sugarman also recommended this treatment to my friend's child who's clinical picture was completely different than my son's. After receiving the evaluation, we asked Dr. Sugarman to provide specific diagnoses and were told we would have to pay additional money in order to obtain that level of detailed information. My son later reached out to Steinmann because the University said that his neuropsych report was not usable for accommodations. Dr. Sugarman provided a document listing functional limitations, some of which don't apply to my son, and others which are attributable to ADHD, and then stated that he should be encouraged to develop a relationship with each professor to establish accommodations. Also, prior to the eval, Steinmann said they could bill insurance but that insurance would likely not cover it. I went through the process to have the insurance approve the eval under the billing codes provided me by Steinmann, but then after the evaluation they billed my insurance company under different codes than the ones they provided me. When the insurance company and I called together to ask them to rebill with the original codes, they left us on hold for 40 minutes before we gave up and hung up. We called a week later and they hung up on us three times in a row. The neuropsychological testing we had done through a different provider was a very different experience. He himself met with my son for 7 hours administering tests. He spoke with my husband and I for an hour and a half to obtain more information. After providing a 16 page report he spent an hour and 45 minutes going over the results and answering questions. There were clear diagnoses, including moderate/severe ADHD. He also clearly listed academic accommodations (longer test times, tests administered in environments free of distractions, using a smart pen to take notes in class, etc) in his report. The cost of the test was roughly the same as what we paid at Steinmanns. I have had two friends who also had a negative experience at Steimanns. I am worried about people not only wasting their money, but wasting time in getting inaccurate evals (I feel like my son's college experience last year would have been very different if he had had an appropriate diagnosis, an accommodations plan, and appropriate medication in place).

Theft of personal property since my family member…read morehas been there his watch, most of his clothing, his wallet with cash and credit cards inside (3 times), his winter coat (purchased at Christmas 2023) 3 new sets of sheets and matching bedspreads, and most recently a beautiful blanket for his bed with an image of a wolf on it that his daughter had given him. When staff was told about this (each time something comes up missing) we get the same song and dance that they will find the items and return them and then call us back once they have done that but I have yet to see the items nor have I ever received the promised call back. We have spoken to the front desk, the laundress/activity director, the aid that helps him shower(last time he saw his watch) and he still has not had anything returned nor has anyone called back. I have asked to speak to the administrator a number of times only to be told that they couldn't give out his contact information but would give him mine and he would call me. The most recent problem was brought to our attention was when he had someone withdrawn $900.00 from his bank account and then said he needed to withdraw more only 2 days later, and when asked where the first $900.00 was he said that one of the nurse's aide's there was having financial issues and that he had given it to her and had done so many time's since he's been there. When we confronted her about it she denied it at first but then admitted to it and promised to pay it back but only after we said that we were going to report her and file charges. He has yet to receive any money back nor has he gotten any of his belongings back. Keep in mind he is bed ridden and cannot get around unassisted to spend any of the money he has withdrawn and in going through his bank statements recently we have found hundreds of dollars unaccounted for. And if you can call 2 buns and a piece of chicken with no condiments on it a balanced meal there is definitely a problem (don't get me started).
