My son had neuropsych testing here a year ago, and we had to have it redone this year by a…read moredifferent professional. The neuropsych report from Steinmann was brief, did not include diagnoses, and was not what the University needed for accommodations. Also, Sugarman stated in her report that my son did not have ADHD while for the past year he continued to have symptoms consistent with ADHD. The professional we saw this year found that my son does in fact have ADHD. Dr. Sugarman herself did not meet with my son to administer tests, this was done by office staff. She spoke with my son for about 5-15 minutes to ask him what college accommodations he was looking for, assuring him she would provide that, but not to glean any additional information to complete the evaluation itself. We received the evaluation which was 6 pages long, mostly consisting of charts and missing recommended accommodations and any diagnoses. She briefly spoke with my son after providing the report (for about 5-15 minutes), during which she tried to sell him on a costly treatment called computer assisted cognitive remediation that she provides. In looking into the recommended computer assisted cognitive remediation treatment, it did not appear to be an empirically validated treatment. Dr. Sugarman also recommended this treatment to my friend's child who's clinical picture was completely different than my son's. After receiving the evaluation, we asked Dr. Sugarman to provide specific diagnoses and were told we would have to pay additional money in order to obtain that level of detailed information. My son later reached out to Steinmann because the University said that his neuropsych report was not usable for accommodations. Dr. Sugarman provided a document listing functional limitations, some of which don't apply to my son, and others which are attributable to ADHD, and then stated that he should be encouraged to develop a relationship with each professor to establish accommodations. Also, prior to the eval, Steinmann said they could bill insurance but that insurance would likely not cover it. I went through the process to have the insurance approve the eval under the billing codes provided me by Steinmann, but then after the evaluation they billed my insurance company under different codes than the ones they provided me. When the insurance company and I called together to ask them to rebill with the original codes, they left us on hold for 40 minutes before we gave up and hung up. We called a week later and they hung up on us three times in a row. The neuropsychological testing we had done through a different provider was a very different experience. He himself met with my son for 7 hours administering tests. He spoke with my husband and I for an hour and a half to obtain more information. After providing a 16 page report he spent an hour and 45 minutes going over the results and answering questions. There were clear diagnoses, including moderate/severe ADHD. He also clearly listed academic accommodations (longer test times, tests administered in environments free of distractions, using a smart pen to take notes in class, etc) in his report. The cost of the test was roughly the same as what we paid at Steinmanns. I have had two friends who also had a negative experience at Steimanns. I am worried about people not only wasting their money, but wasting time in getting inaccurate evals (I feel like my son's college experience last year would have been very different if he had had an appropriate diagnosis, an accommodations plan, and appropriate medication in place).

There is a very expensive "membership " required to begin treatment as well as expensive first meeting with the Dr. This membership is nothing more than online access to meditation guides, nutrition and other info that can easily be found under general online searches or books. For analyzing the patient. If you have insurance it is up to you to submit your own documents and obtain any reimbursements on your own. I received 20% back from my insurance after a couple months. If the patient misses an appointment to which in our case an email notification was sent but not received, the charge is full cost of appointment and no credit towards next appointment, so may as well burn your $200. The hours are very limited and even during business hours, the phone goes to a message machine and emails unanswered. Our mental health system is a broken mess here in the USA, most people will agree if it has touched your family directly. This office was not the solution for our needs and we are a few thousand dollars shorter with no progress towards mental health. Personal attention, care and concern is absent. Look elsewhere. Nice website and user friendly so thumbs up to the web developer on doing their job well!

Tamara has to cancel and resend it. Monday I found a pharmacy with it in stock and left a message. never heard back. Tueasay the MA tells me Tamara already filled it and it is available at my pharmacy. they did not even listen to the message. i call my rx, they repeated they dont have it in stock and wont for some time. and, noone called them. Laura the MA outright lied to me. I call back and she says she will put in another urgent message to Tamara. we now have no meds starting tomorrow. I called back at 3:30 and Laura says its still "pending". Wednesday, I call the rx and they never got it from Tamara, and they are out of stock now. I called around and found another rx. i called this Luara and left yet a 5th message. I called the Provo office and a kind lady talked to Claudia and they both requested a call back from Laura. Never heard back. i call 2 hours later and Laura answers and says she took care of it. she sent it to the one from yesterday. she did not listen to my message 2 hours earlier nor the 2 from the other office ladies. i asked for a paper rx so I can take care of it myself. but no, Tamara doesnt work today. We now have no meds and are leaving out of town. Hope Tamara and Laura have a great holiday. I hope whoever even thinks about going to you for help will be able to see this and know you have zero compassion for your patients and will not make our mistake in going to you. you cannot take the time to tx a simple rx. your team feels comfortable lying and not doing their job. This is a psychiatry office, managed by Havn, who "claims" to offer best in class health management. I guess that means zero accountability.

I hated that my parents were sending me to somewhere I knew only horrible things about. I had only hatred to the place when I went in. However as I began to see what was going around me and the ways that the program let me be whoever i wanted to be i began to see their vision. Now there are hardships that come with treatment, theres no questions to that, and solstice had its moments for sure. But what you have to realize it is a place of what you make it be. My experience in the beginning was horrible because I fought the program i did not want to get better, but even then they held my hand through all of it. as i realized what there intentions were i found it in myself to let them help me heal. I trusted the staff more and more. The therapists are incredible and they are there for whatever you have to bring them. Some might say your going to be there for a year or more but the key is if you let them help you instead if fight agaist them you could be getting our in under 6 months like me. the program is incredible and yes it still has work and growth that would make it even better but it is something I will forever be grateful for. If you are a parent looking to send you child here, i recommend with every good part in me. your daughter deserves a chance to find herself and thrive in a world that maybe wasn't built for her and solstice provides a way that you can make your own and take it with you for the rest of your life. this is my experience and i hope that you could provide you child with the same, however each kids perspective is different. Solstice is the best place to become a new you and break way from the patterns of the past.

Jokes aside it was very emotionally abusive. And if you send your kid here you don't love your kid. My therapist made jokes of sexual assault all the time. But they would take us to Menchie's, which was super nice.
