Juliana was a major help during a very vulnerable time. I booked multiple at-home lactation consultations when I was freshly postpartum, and she provided personalized and thorough after-visit reports to support my breastfeeding journey. I was dealing with blood blisters, a poor latch, doubts and fears about supply, and a baby that was temporarily not gaining enough weight. As a first-time mom, it was extremely stressful, and there were many tears. However, Juliana's visits always left me feeling more informed, reassured, and capable. We also did a weighted feed during every visit, which confirmed that my baby was indeed getting enough to eat. I still remember the relief I felt when I learned that. Juliana is a big reason why I decided to stay the course with breastfeeding. (Thank goodness, because now I LOVE it.) My insurance covered the cost of the visits, so I just paid the $60 travel fee. I also attended her breastfeeding class with my husband before giving birth. This was super helpful, but I recommend taking the class within 1 month of your due date. We took it a bit too early in my pregnancy, and forgot a couple things by the time I gave birth. As a second-time breastfeeding mom, I didn't think I needed a LC, but was humbled when my baby wouldn't feed properly and failed to hit weight milestones. After many weeks of troubleshooting and anxiety, we finally saw Rochelle who correctly identified the issue immediately, referred us to other fantastic providers, and provided incredible, kind support throughout the process. I went from mostly pumping for 3 months to exclusive breastfeeding. My daughter is 5 months old and BF now feels easy, my baby is healthy, and all is well. We stopped in to this store specifically for their Jellycat collection. Our bachelorette group of 8 all found different ones to buy; they had quite the selection! Jessica and Rochelle were very patient with us. They answered questions about supplies and doing a baby registry for a member of our group, and we all had an expedient checkout process. This store has been such a blessing with my second child. I desperately needed urgent lactation help and Rochelle was a lifesaver. I went from being scared and confused on why my baby's health was declining, to having my healthy and happy guy back within a week. Then went to this location which pictures a store front but clearly not at all a store front once you get here and closed 30 minutes before the stated closing time. I came here for lactation services as it was on a list of places covered by my insurance. The initial visit was extremely helpful as I am a first time mom and had no idea what I was doing. My baby was at a good weight and ate a good amount We then came back for a follow up visit. At that visit my baby had gained adequate enough weight (adequate enough that my pediatrician was not concerned) and also ate a good amount for a baby eating every 2 hours. But at this visit Rochelle started to express her concern for how much she was eating and gaining weight and after I said my nieces had tongue ties she then expressed her concern for the possibility that my baby also had a tongue tie. At the next visit she ate the same amount as the previous visit and was still eating every 2 hours. This is when Rochelle stated that she was very concerned with her eating and referred us to a pediatric dentist, which was not covered by my insurance at all. I followed through and went, she was diagnosed with a tongue tie, had it cut, did the stretches as exercises, and made no difference in nursing. I'd had no pain or problems in nursing since the first visit to the LC. I then went to a follow up visit with Rochelle. At this point my baby was still eating every 2 hours. When we did the weighted feed my baby ate the same amount as my previous two visits. The difference was Rochelle then said that it wasn't a problem, that it was a normal amount for a baby to be eating at that frequency. Which brings me to my point that after thinking about all of it later, it concerns me that my baby was misdiagnosed and over treated because she might have been on the verge, but was eating fine, and they made it out to seem like she was very behind the curve. Me being a new mom, this scared me a lot and of course I treated it, with the little money I already had. Not to mention the multiple other services like baby chiropractor and occupational therapy that was also recommended. Any time I attempted to ask for help with pumping my questions were brushed aside and not really addressed. From my observations it just almost seems as though all of these pediatric services are well acquainted and refer eachother to get more business. All babies are different and not quite hitting the weight curve is not unheard of and shouldn't be treated with such a panic. Especially when the baby's pediatrician is not concerned at all. I'm glad insurance paid for these visits because I would have been upset if I'd have paid out of pocket. I could be wrong but these are my thoughts. Follow up with pediatrician for weight concerns, not the lactation consultant. read more

They aren't just some pricey retail store like I first thought but they have classes, group sessions, lactation services and even a birth center if you're into that. I've taken a class and recently started going to see Rochelle for lactation consulting. The one on one help is great when you're struggling with specific issues since group sessions are not enough time to get all your questions answered (in my opinion). Rochelle is really thorough and takes meticulous notes. I've also enjoyed the lovely staff helping me with baby carriers. I struggled with getting my son in a carrier and they've been really helpful in working my way into the baby wearing world. Resources for anything baby related at this birth center! There's a small shop that sells a bit of everything your baby needs. It's very well laid out and neat. Most of all, the staff are very friendly! The shop owner herself is a lactation consultant and she holds a breastfeeding support group every Tuesday and Friday at 11am in a classroom at the back. The classroom is also a place where different types of classes are being held, one of which is the Hypnobabies class that uses relaxing and self hypnosis techniques for labor (pressure wave) management. Beyond the classroom, there is a door that leads to two birthing rooms that are equipped with bathtubs and beds for the birth of your child. A lot of midwives and doulas are familiar with this birth center. This is a place to be that serves the inland north county community. My husband and I had the opportunity to take Liza's Bradley Method Birthing Class over the last few months and were impressed with her attention to facts, usage of evidence based practice articles, and her presentation of information in a way we could understand. She was funny, educational and kept us engaged. She had us watch videos, play games, practice relaxation and engaged us in discussion with eachother. You see, Liza had her hands full with us. Both my husband and I are well educated registered nurses; he practices as an ICU RN and functions as the main code RN in the hospital. I am a surgical oncology nurse. The both of us thrive off of information, but we also need to know the behind-the-scenes-why and the research backing what is being presented. Liza was incredible at answering our questions empathetically as well as with the appropriate and current research. From the experience of a first-time mom and dad, we feel so confident after taking Liza's class that we can handle anything our birth may throw at us. We have seen her devotion to her client's education week after week, her thoroughness and compassion for those in her presence, and her continually expanding motivation to help each couple succeed as educated parents. We didn't expect to buy anything we just wanted to check out strollers and car seats since we are going to be first time parents in a few months. This store is amazing because first off there are like no stores in person where you can compare and actually use strollers, idk what happened but all the baby stores are gone. Second, if you are like us and compared a bunch of strollers online, you need to go in here and talk to someone who works there. They are incredibly knowledgeable and help explain things and features the internet fails to do. We went in thinking we would like one stroller and fell in love with a totally different one thanks to our sales associate, Jessica, pointing out the differences. Jessica was informative and helpful all without being pushy or too over the top "salesy". She gave us space to chat and was just so informative that we decided to buy both the stroller and car seat from her then and there. She was so kind and easy to work with. I recently purchased a new child seat and this company specializes in installing them and making sure they are set up correctly. Child seats can be notoriously difficult to set up because there are a lot of ways to configure the belt and tighten things up. It was easy for me to set up an appointment with them on their website. Only took 20 minutes for them to review and check the fasteners. Child safety is not something to take lightly. I've been to the Babies in Bloom Store numerous times and have never had a bad experience until recently. I live locally in the area and work with children for a living so I like to see what is new and any sales going on. I also have lots of nieces and nephews that I loved shopping there for too but will no longer be shopping nor supporting this business after my embarrassing and horrifying experience that I had there recently. As I was looking around the toy section I was approached suddenly by the owner Rochelle, and in quote she says "Can I talk to you" and was taken a back because wasn't sure what was going. She goes on and ask if I can talk with her in her office, which looking back now would have NEVER done because made me feel sick to my stomach. So when I get to her office she immediately starts to falsely accuse me of stealing from her store which is not true at all and says in quote "It's in your best interest to not come to the store as often" which again was taken a back because I have done absolutely nothing wrong. And I told her you are wrong and have never stolen anything and then goes on to still put blame on me. Then, proceeds to say "When you touch something it makes you look guilty that your stealing something," which at this point I was boiling up inside because I was again being falsely accused of nothing. She then goes on to mention "I don't want you to get in trouble since we now have security, and basically putting me out to look like the bad person. Once the conversation that felt like forever was over I left the building feeling disgusted, assaulted, racially profiled, discriminated, and just utterly shocked that someone with no class could be so disrespectful, hurtful, and make my character look bad. Which anyone that knows me knows that I'm a good human being that only like to engage with positivity and support others. I never thought I would have to write a negative review to a store that I loved supporting but I don't want any other person to go through what I went through. I will never step foot in that store again nor support people that make people feel awful for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I hope other customers will see this because no one should support a store that makes someone feel awful. read more

The customer service my husband and I received here was more than we could have hoped for. We just started our stroller search and we were having a hard time since there's not many places to "test drive." We were recommended this place by a friend and SO glad we stopped in. It's definitely on the smaller side but still enough room to test drive and collapse the strollers. We don't remember their names but we had two ladies help us out today and they were both phenomenal. They were so patient (we had every question you could think of), flexible, knowledgeable and not pushing us to buy anything. Just legitimately trying to help us find the right stroller for us. Even with it being fairly busy they still were able to give us so much attention and help. Also a plus was having other parents that were shopping let us know what strollers they've loved. Everyone was just so nice and it was the exact experience we needed as soon to be parents. We will definitely be coming back to babies in bloom. read more

We took some child and baby safety courses one evening here prior to my daughter being born. This is a great store and parenting resource for the Vista community. The class was great and well ran. Really nice selection of strollers, car seats, and would recommend shopping there before going to a big box store. They have lots of the nicer brands some stores do not get and the staff is waaay more knowledgeable and helpful for learning the ins and out of everything baby care related and pointing you the right direction. I came here for pre-natal yoga with Liza and loved it. I also had a couple of lactation appointments with Rochelle, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. She had a lot of suggestions and insights to offer that other consultants did not. Additionally, I came here on a weekend for a baby-wearing 101 class. I didn't take hynobirthing or come to the lactation lounge here (only because it's a little bit of a drive for me), but they get great reviews as well. All the employees are so helpful and knowledgeable about all things pregnancy, and breastfeeding! The boutique carries the cutest things and they are all high quality, with most being local! I'm giving birth at a different birth center, but my husband and I chose this center for a newborn care class since it they offered one that fit with my husband's schedule. Wow, it was so much more than I expected! Rochelle, the owner, teaches the class and she is just so real, personable and funny. She put all of us nervous first-time parents at ease right away. The class consisted of videos, anecdotes from Rochelle's personal experience coupled with her knowledge of current scientific research, and practice. We walked in scared that we would not know how to figure out how to care for our baby, and walked out with confidence, and a wealth of knowledge, resources and helpful tips. I don't know how she fit that into two and a half hours; she is a truly gifted educator. I will definitely look into taking more classes here in the future. read more

While this is a cute store and the service was very friendly, it is really more about the birthing center. We came here just for the store itself and drove quite a way to get here due to the great reviews and it was kind of a waste. No furniture or larger items, this is more for smaller newborn items and located off the beaten path by a bunch of doctors offices. Excellent place if you are looking for a "home birth" type of set up, but purely to shop for your little one this is not an ideal place as the selection was pretty small and the prices high. read more

After letting her know I had a surgery previously she recommended vitamins to help with vasospasms I was having and it worked! She is knowledgeable beyond all means! The majority of my rating/review is strictly for the lactation lounge, which is a free "event" offered at Babies in Bloom. I started attending the lounge shortly after my first was born and we were facing terrible nursing issue. The lounge offered a safe place for me to go and just get out of the house (which for a new mom is a huge thin since you can feel chained to a chair constantly nursing), it helped me to not feel so alone and that there was a light at the end of the tunnel and this nursing thing would eventually be much easier! The shop owner is a certified lactation consultant so she is there to answer and help with and technical questions and all the other moms there just get it. I believe the lounge specifically is what helped us make it nursing as long as we did. About the shop. It has moved locations since I was last there, and extended itself to also be a birth center. Which I love, the Vista/Oceanside area has needed a birth center forever and the location is close to a hospital which will allow nervous mothers to feel comfortable about a speedy transfer should they need one. Babies in Bloom has always been an upper end boutique. All the items are of great quality but tend to be rather pricey. You will fined baby wearing items from: Tula, Sakurabloom, Solly Baby, Moby... All kinds of nursing equipment from bras, pads, pumps, covers, supplements... Toys for 0-3+ years: Happa and Boon... Some other smaller locally made items like hats and bows... You can find hazel and amber necklaces, chewbeads... Tons of natural baby products. As said most the items do tend to be pricey, but are not "oh my god" outrageous like some boutiques. Lots of classes are offered. The Lactation Lounge as previously mentioned, yoga, dance, music, sleep help, cloth diapering 101, baby wearing 101, etc. In the past there have been events like "moms night out", Baby Fest (which was awesome when we attended), and bringing in specific vendors for an event. No longer living local I do not shop here or stop by often but when I did I only purchased items I knew I specifically wanted that would cost me more to buy online and have shipped but the classes and events are pretty great from previous experience and worth checking out! read more
