Last time we were here, I asked to try a stroller cover on my stroller but the sales associate said no because they (staff) have to figure out how to get it in the package & can't make it look nice in the package after it has been opened...and no one will buy one that has been opened...so why is there no demo versions? read more

Quick shop at this toys r us the staff was helpful with getting the car seat for my son and loading it into my suv and they had a good selection of products I always shop around for deals and price difference on baby gear and they had the car seat for the cheapest price right now the only down side is getting to the store you have to be going north bound to get into the parking lot easy from the front but other then that it was a good shopping experience read more

Granted, I've never been to another Toys R Us in Calgary so maybe I don't have a whole lot to compare to, but this one seems to be a little disorganized, small, the registry printer NEVER works (ok, "never" being the two times I've tried, years apart) and it's kind of dingy. The whole store needs a revamp. The employees are nice and the prices are okay, for what little baby/toy shopping I do (usually for a friend's baby-on-the-way). All in all, I don't really look forward to coming to this location. Next time I think I'll try one of the other TRU locations in Calgary. Underdog 2/30 read more

Babies babies babies - they've been surrounding me for the past year or so! Several of my close friends have had their first or second children this year, and that meant a whole lots of baby showers and birthday parties. While I love heading to cute shops like Fab and Nest, sometimes you really just need a basic store with decent prices. That's what Babies R Us is for me. This seems to be the go-to registry when Mamas and Papas share the happy news. It's got everything from diapers and wipes to clothes, bedding, feeding stuff, carseats, swings, strollers, decor and of course, toys. It's actually kind of intimidating, even for this girl who spends a ton of time with little ones. There's a ton of brands to choose from, and I find it's best to ask the staff if you're unsure. They're really helpful and many are specialized in things like strollers and car seats. Their registry system is great - you can ask them to check and see what's been purchased while you're there and they'll help you find whatever you need. When my best friend became pregnant with her first baby I was so excited and shopped a whole lot every time I saw any cute outfit anywhere. However, she surprised us all by arriving almost 3 months early, and this tiny preemie baby had nothing to wear, since really, who shops for preemie clothes unless you know you're going to have a tiny baby? So I came here and I literally scooped up almost every preemie outfit I could find. There wasn't a huge selection, but I suppose that makes sense since they usually outgrow them so quickly. Other than the lack of preemie clothes, this place has it all. It might not have the trendiest, handmade crafts of the other stores I mentioned, but it's basically a one stop shop and you can count on the staff's knowledge. #30DaysOfYelp 5/30 read more

Came in here looking for a nightlight buddy for my niece. The store is a little peculiar because you need to enter through the Toys r Us and this location was quite smaller than the ones I am used to in the states. There were many employees around, just none offered to help us as we roamed around them looking for the nightlight. (If I was in a hurry, I probably would have asked for help) The selection is basic and the necessities appear to be there, but if you need anything special, I would try another spot. read more

I was just in today and the customer service was terrible. While looking for Care Bear items I had to approach FOUR customer service representatives. The first sent me to the other side of the store. Once I was there the second sent me back to the side of the store I was already on (very rudely). Once there I explained to the third my confusion and they sent me to the middle of the store. Then the fourth sent me to the other side of the store. When I asked if they were able to just show me they were insistent it was just around the corner and walked away. Needless to say I did this all with a 4 year old in tow and never found them. I'll never go back to this store again. read more

What horrible customer service!!! I was asked to retrieve a video game for a friend, and I guess it was a newer one because a few places I had already gone to were sold out. Deciding to save myself some gas, I called Toys R Us ahead of time and was re-directed to their electronic department. When I asked about the title, the man on the phone (who did not introduce himself when answering the phone,) told me they still had a few copies left. Since I was about a half hour's drive away I asked if he could put one aside for me and that I would pick it up right away. He said he couldn't do that and refused to explain to me why! He told me " Well you should have pre-ordered it if you wanted a copy." and hung up. I apologize for trying to give this joke of a store any of my business. If that is the kind of customer service they encourage, I'll just buy my stuff online. read more

I don't have kids but I've bought many of my friends kids gifts from here. Recently my friend had a baby so I came in a few times to get items. First off...the whole building needs a facelift! It's super outdated! Paint chipping off doors and the entrance is not inviting. When I went in, it was pretty dead but quite a few cashiers open. A lady did come help me with some items I couldn't find on her registry. I'd say they had half the items. They were sold out of a lot or only had pink girlie versions, when I wanted blue etc. cashier was nice enough, it just felt kinda "cold" unfriendly. Hard to describe but for a toy store you'd think the employees would be cheery and fun happy music would be playing, but honestly it's kinda depressing. read more

Ruth at Baby R Us is awesome! We were 2 weeks away from having our baby and Ruth not only gave us the lowdown of what we required but was soo informative! We got everything for our first few weeks and we were so overwhelmed with all the products and she made it very easy. The store is soo busy and there usually isn't a lot of staff to be found but Ruth makes it worth it. She is a fantastic ambassador for the store, so knowledgeable, and just made our experience (at a very stressed out time ) easy for first time parents. Ask for Ruth!!! read more

Toys R Us is the worst online store! We have had nothing but issues with the only two orders we have ever done with them. First off, the baby monitor that was ordered as a gift for us was USED...fully scratched monitor and smears all over it. Then when we compared prices to Amazon it was 100$ more!!! We will never purchase from here again when we can get what we ordered quickly and cheaper from Amazon. read more

Worst toys r us location in my experience. I don't usually leave reviews but this experience left me seething and bitter. I found a beautiful doll on clearance for a reasonable price, and knowing their " buy 1 get 1 half" policy I found another and headed to the till. They ring it up and the first doll is four times the price than what the tag says. I point it out that the shelf said something different and the clerk says " oh this happens, sorry do you want to void it?" Now this has happened to me at other locations in Calgary and they never just offer to void it, they'll look for the doll and the price and typically do a price guarantee. I had to fight this clerk just to go check the tag. Finally he does and when he comes back he has the tag and says it was just in the wrong spot, even though when I found the doll, the shelf was stocked full behind this tag. I have to argue more and more just to see a manager. Again he leaves to get a manager and comes back a minute later with no manager and a weak " im so sorry there's nothing we can do" at this point I was getting embarrassed and frustrated and the line was getting longer and longer behind me. I left the doll and the store seething about how rude this clerk was and how I never actually got to speak to someone about this ordeal. If you want proper service with more enthusiastic employees please do yourself a favour and go to the 32nd ave or crossiron locations. I've never had any problems and selection is just as good. Horrible customer service at this Toys R Us!!! Unprofessional staff at the Customer Service counter. As a mother of 4 I have little time on my hands to go shopping, but we decided that a bike was worth the trip. We looked online and headed to Toys R Us thinking they are specialized in what kids need and it will help make the most of our time, money & effort. Little did I know that the bike would come on sale 2 days after I bought it, something I found out from an email from ToysRUs but not from the Customer Service person (Cindy) that I talked to when picking up the bike. Even more so, when I called, 30 min after leaving the store, was told it's not her job to know what goes on sale but the customer's job to monitor and pay attention. Basically, not Cindy's exact words, but the message I got from her attitude towards me, ToysRUs will reimburse if you catch them, otherwise will fool you if you don't. I will have to go back now, as I was instructed by Cindy, and use my time, money & arrange babysitting for my kids to get $50 back, just because my gas, my time, my kids time mean nothing to Customer Service rep Cindy at ToysRUs. The gentleman who gave us the bike was stuck with no smiles, no courtesy as well, but at least new about their promotion and added the promotional helmet to the bike. It was frustrating to experience this at the end because the young man who helped us pick this bike, 2 scooters and 2 other helmets did a great job and was very helpful and kind to us. We won't be going back here soon, that's for sure. read more
