We were very disappointed with our family beach photo session. With a large group, we put a lot of time and coordination into getting everyone together, and we had been looking forward to these photos all summer. Unfortunately, there was very little direction during the hour-long session. We were not given much guidance with posing or positioning, and our requests to try different areas of the beach were not really accommodated. The session often felt more like "point and shoot" than a guided photography experience. We were also told to expect a 10-day turnaround, but it took closer to three weeks, with the only explanation being that there was a lot of editing involved. When we received the gallery, however, the photos appeared minimally edited, with visible blemishes, flyaway hairs, and even a child in the background of some images. It was especially disappointing because this was a rare opportunity to have our entire family together, and we had hoped the final photos would reflect the time, effort, and anticipation that went into making this happen. Avoid Baby duck photography Awful experience from start to finish July 6 I paid and booked for ENGAGEMENT photos at Long Beach island at 3 pm for August 17 (our anniversary) July 6 she said Got it! Thanks so much. I will send a confirmation a few days before with specifics where to meet etc August 16 I REACHED OUT TO HER to verify we were still on since I haven't heard a peep out of her. August 16 3:36 she confirmed we were on. August 17 she canceled due to lack of permit. Personally I feel like that was a lie due it being a public place and she didn't have any equipment set up and it was a small group (3 people ) She gave me an alternative of another beach and I said no because Long Beach has the light house. The location means something to us as I told her the backstory. August 17 she did offer me a refund or reschedul We rescheduled for august 31st at 8 am August 30 she reached out to me for confirmation It was confirmed by me same day August 31st comes it's 8 am it's at the beach it's cold and she's complaining. It's cold. She wore the wrong shoes. She is worried about her animals at home because she thinks she left the window open and they might be cold. She's telling me she loves to shoot here but it's her first time shooting here. There is a walkway we go to and she's mumbling to herself. She isn't really looking through the lens unless she's videotaping herself take the photos. We felt drastically rushed. I was off because I fees off energy. Her energy was awful it put me in a bad mood. She ONLY TOOK FAMILY PICTURES. She left in a hurry. Told me she will have our sneak peaks in 24-48 hours. Our actual pictures in 14 days I try to be patient. I actually forget about the sneak peaks. I contact her at 14 days no answer. 22 days later multiple texts messages and comments on her page she finally answers. She told me I would get my pictures same day. Most of the pictures are blurry and have SHITTY FILTERS ON THEM. No editing at all. I blend in with the background. My fiancé face is damn near hidden in the sunlight. My son's hair looks crazy from her touching it. I personally have to edit my pictures myself which is fine because I can do that. I personally paid way too much money for a terrible experience. Getting ahold of her is like pulling teeth. So a full refund will never happen. I highly do not recommend. Nothing about that is professional at all. read more

I was looking for someone who could take pictures of my newborn, I've chosen baby duck photography and after she took the pictures she told me I would have them within 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks I've never heard back from her Ive keep trying to get. ahold of her after 2 months later she finally admits she lost all of my newborn photos if I can do a resession. I went back to redo the photos now my son was almost 3 months old. she told me she gift me with a certificate for when he turns 1 for free photos. I wrote her a week before his first birthday and she told me yes and then came up with excuses then I never heard back from her. If you are looking for good communication and to receive what you pay for, this isn't it. One year ago we welcomed Jen into our home to take newborn pictures. She told us she had just recently sold her studio space because it didn't make sense to pay for it when she could come to people's homes. The entire time, she made very awkward and personal conversation, complaining about her family and other situations that shouldn't be spoken to around a first time customer. My baby decided he wanted to be awake during the session - so instead of taking those pictures, she spent half of the shoot time trying to get him to fall asleep. We ended up only getting 2 or 3 different poses of the baby. She told me 10-12 days for the pictures to be sent to me. Just over 3 weeks later, I finally got the pictures after multiple messages following up. (still not a horrible turn around, but don't give a time frame if you're not going to keep it). I had paid in full at the time of service. I chose the pictures that I wanted printed for the 3 sheets that were included in what I paid for immediately after getting the pictures. That's where the communication completely stopped. I had also booked another photoshoot with family for one of her beach sessions for August (the next month). So worst case, i'll bring it up to her at the family shoot, or maybe she will event bring them to the shoot for me. Nope, didnt happen. I brought it up, she brushed it off. She told us 2 weeks for the family belmar pictures, it took 4 weeks. I reached out again multiple times to follow up & she stopped answering me. She would only respond to my sister in law that was also a previous customer and was in the family session. We finally got the pictures and half of them didn't have the people in the background edited out and we specifically asked her if they would be in the picture during the photos and she said no, she would photoshop them out. We asked for them to be edited correctly and resent, never happened. an 11x14 print was part of our family session package. We sent her the photo we wanted printed for that. No response.... I reached out again and again about receiving the newborn prints that I paid for, ignored and now again and again for the family session print (also paid for in full) She finally answered me saying the lab was backed up and she had to switch labs to get them printed and would have them mail the prints to me directly. I never got them. I reached out again and asked for a partial refund of both packaged since I paid for a product that I am clearly not going to receive. She made another excuse about the lab and asked if i wanted to come in for a complimentary easter session. I agreed (knowing i was never getting those prints at this point). We showed up and there were 3 other families in the room waiting for pictures. She talked about how people have the nerve to complain that the ducts are brown instead of yellow like she posts on the website. Spent maybe 10 minutes taking pictures.... most of them didnt even have the ducks in the pictures. I received the pictures a month later (well after Easter)... there were maybe 10-12 pictures total that she took. I reached out again regarding the prints that I still haven't received.... She told me the lab delivered them to her house and she would mail them out to me that week. That was 3 months ago and i still haven't gotten anything. I have reached out again and again and no response. At this point, it is very obvious that I am never getting those prints that I paid for. One was a timeless moment of my newborn son and one was an extended family picture that was meant to be a Christmas gift. I am writing this is discourage anyone from using her in the future for any special moments. You will be let down. I have had so many friends use her, and was always happy with their pictures, but no one ever shared their horrors with her. Another friend also got newborn pictures a month before i did and also never got a response from Jen when they tried to select their prints. Let me start by saying I've been going to Jen for five years for my kids and family photos. She does great work and the kids loved her. That's where it ends. Her professionalism or lack thereof I should say and attitude are horrible. I have always paid upfront on Venmo, paid in full etc for my sessions ahead of time. I had an issue before with a Christmas shoot being very late with delivery where I had to track her down and ask that my pictures get done before Christmas because they were literally done three weeks prior! She gave me excuse after excuse and was more defensive than apologetic. That was the first red flag. However I was happy with the pictures so I continued to take my daughter and eventually my son there. Fast forward to this year, I had paid a deposit on a boudoir shoot that she rescheduled first due to her mother being ill. Completely understand and I was fine with it. She said that the shoot which was originally supposed to be in May or June, would be rescheduled for September. Ok she kept my money no big deal. In September, I rescheduled the session however due to an RA flare up I was unable to go and as someone with a chronic illness, being sexy in a boudoir shoot during a flare up is probably the furthest thing from your mind. I messaged her ahead of time and explained and asked if I could use the credit towards a shoot for my kids, knowing I bring them to her two times a year at least. She said sure. December comes and I bring the kids the first weekend of December to her studio for Christmas pics. The whole time I was there she kept "warning" me that the turnaround time was going to get longer and longer as we got closer to Christmas. She also complained about people inboxing her for their pics. I was understanding though. She assured me that it would be closer to 10-14 days turnaround times which I was fine with as it only December 2nd. Two weeks pass, my family had influenza A and Covid, myself included and I was out of work and quarantined for two weeks. I didn't bother her the entire time as I was extremely ill and taking care of two sick kids. The week of Christmas I started to wonder where my pics were. I had been checking my email constantly day and night. Looking for my photos. On the 19th I messaged her on Facebook asking nicely would my pics be done before Christmas as I didn't want to "harass" her. No answer. On the 21st I messaged again, this time a little passive aggressively since I was being ignored. She finally replied that she found out the reason she didn't edit my pics was due to a corrupted card and basically had lost all my pictures. She wanted me to come that day on a Wednesday, or the next day and she would edit them in an hour. Mind you I was at work, my daughter at school and my son at the sitters. Her studio is 45-50 min away on a good day with minimal traffic. I was clearly upset when messaging her back and said I would not be able to re arrange my life that quickly a few days before Christmas due to something that was out of my control. She got defensive as usual and acted like a victim when I was actually the victim here! I asked for a refund and she said she couldn't provide me with one since it was a credit from another shoot! Of course I told her how absurd that sounded as it was no fault of my own and she nastily said have a happy holiday send the Venmo request. She acted as if it was MY fault for not contacting her sooner for them even though she warned me that it was going to take long!! It's not my responsibility to hunt you down for a service you provided! I was in tears at work thinking of my adorable pictures I would not get to send out on cards and I thought about trying my hardest to make it there later that afternoon. I told her I would try but unfortunately I couldn't get out of work on time so then I asked can I come Friday around 3 after my daughter got out of school. She said fine. Well Friday came and we had a snowstorm. My daughter was released early and my son was almost an hour away with his father at work since my sitter couldn't drive to my house. I was driving around for two hours in the bad weather and I basically told her I didn't think I could make it now. No answer... as usual. Around 3 the weather started clearing and I messaged her again asking if she was still available I could try to make it in if she was still willing. No answer. So I said forget it. I'm not wasting my time driving and getting ready if I don't even know that she's there! I requested my $50 deposit on Venmo. It took about four days for her to finally respond on Facebook and she basically said I was harassing her and told me never contact her again for photos! After five years and thousands of dollars of photos that's how she treats a loyal customer? I am actually really hurt but I got my money back and learned a valuable lesson. Here's my experience. So I booked the session for the first weekend in November. Communication INITIALLY was great, instant booking, no problem. She asks that you Venmo her personal account (with a discount) so she can avoid the Venmo fees. Me personally, I found her actual business Venmo and told her I felt more comfortable paying the business Venmo at full price. I've heard way too many unrelated weird venmo horror stories, so that was just my personal preference. Plus I had a feeling to do it this way-- I should have stopped there, but here I am. When I got to the venue, I couldn't find her. I did message her prior to the pictures about where to meet her, but never received that information. I had to scout her out in the parking lot. My context clues: it's probably the blonde woman sitting on the curb next to a PA plated car (our pics were in nj). The parking lot was full, so we had to walk around a little to find her. After we introduced ourselves to her, she started talking about her other session bookings. I felt a little uneasy about her opening up to me about another family she hadn't heard from, and admitted that she lost their contact information, and expressed frustration that they did not reach out to her to confirm the appointment. I picked this up as a little red flag, and maybe it is, maybe it isnt, but it came off as unorganized and a tad unprofessional to open up to another client about her miscommunctions and frustrations towards another family/ client. After the session, I was told my pictures would be sent to me in 2 weeks, with sneak peak picture postings on social media within 3 to 4 days. Sneak pic peaks were never posted. I messaged Jen at the 2-week mark-- her response was I'd receive probably "...tomorrow". Three days later, still nothing. I was scrolling on Instagram, and I saw that she posted a Christmas portrait promoting her business about an hour or 2 before, this reminded me to message her on *Instagram* (mind you, *not text*-- this was a social media outlet, where the user can choose to respond at a later time). she said I was "very rude" because I messaged her a day before Thanksgiving (again, I messaged her on Instagram -- plus I had seen that she just recently posted something so I thought no big deal, and I was not expecting an answer right away). Also, to majority of the county, the day BEFORE thanksgiving is a working day. After she called me rude, she said she was working on the pictures and they should be ready "tonight". SIX DAYS later, still nothing. I messaged her on IG again to follow up. I got the classic, "Did you check your spam folder". Lo and behold, nothing from Jen was in my spam folder. I did a search though the whole inbox, each folder, nothing from Jen was in there. This took a total of 3 weeks + 2 days to get the picture, with having to follow up every few days. Im curious to know if she was triaging her pictures. I felt like my session pictures were put on hold, while the other current Christmas studio pictures were getting priority. I've only seen 2 negative reviews about her on yelp and yellow pages, with similar communcation issues mentioned. If you Google her business, it says permanently closed, which is a little shady/ unnerving. I'm wondering if it's a way to get around negative Google reviews? Not sure. Just theorizing here. Plus, I don't see a way to leave a review on her Facebook page-- possibly intentional. Overall opinion: very easy to book -- hard to get a hold of once your pictures are taken. I had to hunt my pictures down, well after the promised date. I shouldn't have to be the one reaching out to said professional entity on why they are not meeting their stated delivery date. Also unprofessional, calling me rude, lol. Sure , day before Thanksgiving, but it was an Instagram message. I worked the day before Thanksgiving too, but that's besides the point. It appears that she books the sessions where she can get them and slacks on the delivery. At least in my experience. But I'm sure the others who were prioritized for Christmas sessions have had a better experience. I wouldn't recommend Jen or babyduckphotography in PA to anyone. I did not feel valued/ considered/ respected as a client. I was polite in communications on my end. It's not worth wondering when you'll get your pictures. Plus the snark communication on her end is not professional. Comes off as unhinged. I don't have time for the negativity, I just wanted my pictures when they were promised. Why should I have to hunt them down? I hired you to get these done in a professional and timelynmanner.. communication greatly lacking. There's plenty of other great photographers out there. Unfortunately we are still waiting on photos from 7 months ago despite numerous messages to the photographer, most of which were unreturned or where we were given false promises that have not been followed through on. Will not book again. read more

I was excited to see this company on Facebook that was local and not too expensive. Booking went really well, venmo'd the owner, Jen, in full because of the discount she offered. We had planned for a date which ended up calling for rain that same day. I messaged her confirming whether or not the photo's would still be done, they were rescheduled for a different weekend. Those also got rained out. After the second cancellation, I messaged her saying that our schedules plus the weather did not seem to agree and asked for a refund. She apparently does not allow refunds which this information is not listed anywhere on her website. She did offer for me to keep the credit with her for a later time/session. So I agreed to do it in a weekend in June. She never answered my messages to schedule again and I have not gotten my $135 back either. Please be aware that she does not offer refunds and this was not handled very well. I was so excited to get some updated family pictures and upset that we were unable to do so. read more
