I stopped in today because I recently purchased food from this location and genuinely enjoyed it. I had the pasta salad and thought it was good, which is why I fully intended to return and continue supporting this business. Unfortunately, today's interaction completely changed that. When we walked in, I was greeted and I returned the greeting. The employee then made a passive aggressive comment implying that no one had spoken, so I clarified that I had said hello. The exchange immediately felt uncomfortable, unnecessary, and unwelcoming. I found it very off putting that the focus appeared to be on whether a customer spoke loudly or enthusiastically enough rather than simply providing a pleasant and respectful experience. The employee has no way of knowing what customers may be dealing with in their personal lives. Because of this interaction, my husband and I chose to leave immediately. For context, during my previous visit I spent around $60 on several items, so this feedback is not coming from a lack of interest in supporting the business. It's genuinely unfortunate to leave a review like this, as the product itself was good. However, customer service matters just as much as the food, and because of this experience, we will not continue to support this business. read more

Cupcakes were lovely. They were moist with this amazing crust on the edges. The icing was great too, I'd like to see a variety of icing if possible (I just a personal preference to cream cheese icing). Both of the lemonades that are offered are DELICIOUS! I will definitely be back. read more

Cupcakes are flavorful, moist, and icing isn't too, too sweet! i was passing through Augusta on my way to Columbia, SC and researched the best Black-owned bakery in the city. BabyCakes stood out both on Yelp and Google reviews! Long story short, i bought one of each of the cupcakes that they had in the display case to share with friends for a birthday get-together. All of the cupcakes we tried were SO GOOD!!! The red velvet was especially tasty. i had originally hoped to purchase a cake as well, but be aware: it's not a big establishment - you must pre-order cakes. I was extremely disappointed in how the cake turned out that I ordered. The lady said she would be able to do it, when my friend picked it up it looked nothing like the picture I sent and was super dry and tall, the words were super glued to the cake...She even said she didn't have the material to do everything, then why even agree to do the cake? She took $5 off when my friend picked it up but she should have been honest and say she couldn't do it so we could have gotten someone else to do it. My friend also hit her head on the sign while leaving (it should be hanging so low). Will not be shopping with them ever again. read more

Oh my goodness I love this place. It's a pleasure to try more cafes in the area even it took a while to find this one. Just in case if you have trouble finding this place, call them and they will help you out. :) This cafe and Embers Grill are the only restaurants I've tried so far that serve Apple Cobbler and I've had yet to try the one at Baby Cakes, but I plan to. The cupcakes I bought were so pretty and looked so delicious and the service was truly admirable. Glad to have tried this one out and I highly recommend it if you havent been here yet. read more

My wife owns a business close to babycakes Cafe. The owner is really sweet and she always has fresh cupcakes available. They come in all kinds of crazy flavors. And they are all delicious. I picked up a few dozen for my daughter's birthday in January. They had a big paint party at my wife's place and ate the cupcakes. The teenagers were very sad because they wanted more than I had bought. Too bad kids go by your own, they are literally across the street. read more

Nestled in a strip mall on Shartom Drive is this little gem. I've followed the business on Facebook before this store front was established. I had not gotten around to trying anything but here I am at the physical business to give it a try. It's not a pastry and sweet filled establishment. What was available was contained to one space with cupcakes on a cupcake tree and brownies and bloodied under dome glasses. I decided to skip the cupcake special and grab what stuck out to me; white chocolate chip and pina colada at $2.50 each and one brownie and one blondie. I forgot to get pics at the establishment. Taste? I tasted all before the review. All items were moist, sweet and really good. What I want to say is I've had all kinds of cupcakes. There are theeand some are the kind where the flavor is infused in the icing and some where the flavor is infused in the cake. Some are both. My favorite is when it's both. From the two selections only the icing was flavored. Not sure the white chocolate could be but I've had pina colada cupcakes where the fruit was in the cake center as well as the icing. While I didn't get that here I did get really good cupcakes. Next time I'll try Red Velvet or something other similar flavor. Overall, I'll definitely return. The brownies are a really good and as I sit here, I'm waiting on ice cream to dollop on top. I can't wait for that! read more

This is a very cute little cupcake store in Augusta. I googled cupcakes for my grandson's birthday and found Babycakes. I was excited that they had blue velvet and wanted to get some for his birthday. Unfortunately, they only make the blue velvet in Thursdays and I wasn't going to be in the area yet. Anyway, the person I spoke to over the phone who I think is the owner was the sweetest person. She was so helpful and offered me various options. When I finally arrived in Augusta, I just had to visit her store and get some blue velvet and a few others. Her cupcakes were delicious. Soft and moist and not too sweet, just perfect. The blue velvet has a blueberry flavor which was surprising but wonderful. I could have returned every day that i was there but I had to resist.
