But not so much so I wouldn't try somewhere else next time we will have a private ultrasound done. I actually called two other places first and no one answered so I tried here. I was able to make a same day appointment online - total win - so I was sold. Parking is not an issue since this is in a shopping plaza. We were set to find out the gender of the baby at my next OB appointment, but I got anxious and didn't want to wait 5 more weeks so I decided to find a private place to do it at the recommendation of a colleague at work. The location was nice and clean, the room comfy, and had a big screen to watch along. We went for a 15-minute gender determination at 16+1 weeks. The cost for this service is $89 (plus tax - I think we paid $96 and change) and includes some printed images and digital images/videos sent to your email. I was disappointed that all the digital items had a big watermark on them. I wanted to get one printed but do not particularly care to look at the watermark in the picture frame. It was a bit of a bummer, had I known I probably would have checked other places first. The printed images came on long thing paper that is rolled up so they are all crinkled and creased when you get them. I know this is sort of out of their control with the printer they use - I guess - which is why it is nice you also get the digital images, however they should send you images without their watermark or at least let you purchase one. I now have the option of using rolled up creased printed photos or a printed shot with a huge pink water mark on it for our maternity shots. The tech was friendly. There was someone else in the room I guess coaching her so perhaps she was new. It was fine we got a really nice photo of our baby. The 3D images did not come out as clear as I'd hoped, but that may have just been because of where I am in my pregnancy. The service was supposed to be 15 minutes of looking at our baby and we got about 9. I was disappointed when she said we were done considering it was $100 for 15 minutes and I didn't even get that. Because we still got 9 precious minutes with our baby and were able to find out the gender it was not a complete waste, but I was definitely disappointed by the experience and it was not close by or cheap.

It's been three hours since my appointment, so I've had time to consider if I'd write this. I had a CT scan scheduled for 3:45 today. New Year's Eve, I got a call from the office to call them. I got calls at 4:58 and 5:04 pm. My wife called them immediately, but, of course, the office was closed. We chuckled, saying that the caller, Angel, never intended to talk to us because why would she call after the office was closed? I called again the next day but got nobody on New Year's Day. I completed early check-in through MyChart anyway. I showed up at my appointment today 20 minutes early and checked in on the kiosk. My appointment time arrived, but other patients continued to get called back. Eventually, I heard the lady at the check-in desk talking about me with a coworker. She was literally talking about me by name. Anyone else in the waiting room could have heard. I wasn't sure what she was saying and assumed she was prepping her coworker to see me. I eventually heard him ask, "Why don't they call patients like this to notify them?" She responded, "Patients are called and notified. He got a text." (I never got a text.) I waited and waited for news on my appointment-any news. I never got it because nobody ever called for me. 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I approached her. She stalled and eventually told me they needed confirmation of insurance. It made no sense because I clearly have insurance. A doctor referred me. She told me to wait in the waiting area while she got the scheduler to schedule me. I eventually got called back. The lady seemed nervous. I told her I wasn't mad. She was simply doing her job. I told her that Angel called me and my wife after 5. My wife immediately called her back, but the office was closed. I told her it would have been nice to have been told in a voicemail that they needed insurance confirmation. It would also have been considerate and professional to talk to me after I checked in via kiosk instead of loudly talking about me with a colleague the way the lady at the front desk had done. I had to schedule another appointment, but I was told it would be two weeks out. I asked the scheduling lady what the problem was. She looked at her computer and then told me she didn't know. I'd needed to call and ask. I'm still not mad, but I'm incredulous. I can't believe what I experienced with this office. There was absolutely no professionalism or humanity even. I hope that Angel takes a more professional approach for others. I've scheduled another appointment for two weeks from today but might find another location. Life goes on.
