She was very good with newborns, my boys were comfortable during the entire session and did not cry once. She was well prepared with very little direction from me on my preferences. Shara is wonderful both as a photographer and a person. I used her for 2 of my 3 daughters (and if I could go back in time I would have hands down used her for all 3!). I did newborn, 4 month mini, 8 month mini, and 1 year sessions with each baby and she is just a magician. One of my daughters has been very anti-photo since the day she was born and the amount of patience Shara had was insane - especially at the 4 and 8 month sessions, yikes lol. The props, clothes and accessories she has are gorgeous and very high quality pieces. She's also fabulous at working with siblings (and photoshop when needed) and we have some priceless portraits of our 3 girls together. Price-wise she was comparable or even a little lower than all of the other highly sought after baby photographers in my area. There are definitely less expensive photographers out there but in my experience you get what you pay for. She also doesn't bug you to purchase expensive prints through her which I really appreciated after a previous experience with another photographer. Lastly her turnaround time is so quick! I've waited for over a month to get photos back from other photographers but Shara is upfront and honest about her delivery time frame and has always been spot on in my experience. This review is so long overdue. We first met Shara 4.5 years ago, she photographed our newborn daughter. She is definitely the baby whisperer. As new parents, we felt completely comfortable handing her our baby and letting her work her magic. I never felt like I needed to hang out and make sure our baby was okay. Her home is clean, comfortable, inviting, and she put out a bunch of magazines and snacks for us. Her work is phenomenal, the pictures we got back were even better than I hoped for so it was a no-brainer that we went back to her a few weeks ago to photograph our newborn son. I have had all 4 of my kids photographed by Shara. She is absolutely amazing at what she does and is wonderful with babies and children. I only had one of my kids do their newborn photos with her, but I wish I had been able to do them all with her. Nevertheless, she has taken all of my kids' one year photos, and I'm always blown away by her work. We started with her when she was in Orange County and were sad to see her move to the Bay area. There was no doubt that we would make a trip to the bay to have our last baby photographed by Shara for his one year photos. Shara is warm and sweet. I remember when I had my son's newborn photos taken a few years ago, he got a little fussy, but she fed him the bottle I provided, and gently lulled him back to sleep, and he looked so comfortable during his whole session. Our whole family recently took a trip to the bay area to have our youngest son's first year photos taken, and she was amazing with him as usual. At first, my son was a little apprehensive, but she quickly got him to feel comfortable. She knows how to interact with children and has a welcoming presence about her. Her studio is spacious and beautiful and inviting with different set ups. She seemed to be intentional with her studio space, providing an area to lounge and just relax in. The area also has toys for younger children. It was perfect for my kids, and they loved it while baby brother was getting his photos taken. She also provides snacks. She has walls full of blankets, accessories and outfits arranged by colors. She has different props. She has everything. You really just need to bring the baby. She was also gracious enough to take sibling photos of my kids, and even though that was a bit chaotic, she was patient and knew exactly how to work with my kids. Shara is as good as it gets! She has done all the photos for my second child: maternity, newborn, 6 months and one year. Every session has been phenomenal; I love my photos so much. Shara is friendly and easy to work with and strives to do the very best for all her clients. She is so patient with everyone and even if you think your kids aren't cooperating and there's no way she could have taken good photos, she does it! I cherish all the photos I've received from Shara and I really love the way she does her pricing; there is just one fee! You don't have to choose just a few prints to buy a la carte like with most photographers; she will give you about 30 retouched digital images for you to print and post to social media as you like. So fantastic! Seriously, if you've never been to another photographer, I will tell you it's so disappointing to have to sit through 50 good photos and know that you'll be charged $25+ per print. We only have about 25 professional prints from our first child's entire first year because of that kind of pricing strategy. For our second child, we have about 100 because we went with Shara!
