We passed some luxurious and humble lake house and cottages (that was the highlight). While the experience was lovely, I did not have much interaction with the staff beyond confirming our tickets. If you are looking for a unique and memorable experience, I would recommend the Muskoka Steamships. Whether you are a nature lover, history buff, or just looking for a relaxing day out, this is a greatt activity. For now, 4/5 only because we had not tried out their food options which is offered for additional price. So next time , that would be our goal. We were thankful that the boat had both indoor seating and outdoor seating as it was a chilly day. While we awaited the boat we shopped in the store which had an extensive collection of items made by local artists. What we liked: When asked questions the crew was knowledgeable. The boat was very pretty- much nicer than other boat tours we've done. They had a full bar and snacks for purchase. Lots of different views from the boat- three levels of I treating spaces. Plenty of seating. What we didn't like: From the website it looked like we would be enjoying a steamship. The boat we took was a diesel ship. It seemed like we would learn about local history of the area- but it was a prerecorded tour that was out of sync with what we were supposed to be looking at. This made it confusing and we were unsure of what we were supposed to notice. It was pricey for what it was. And there is an additional charge for the museum. Crew was moving furniture from the dining room for the carpet to be replaced. The tour felt like an imposition for the crew to get their work done on the boat. Not great pictures of the beautiful dining room because there were chairs stacked everywhere. There are many great museums in the area and lots of cool experiences, many that are free.. I wish we had skipped this one & spent time elsewhere.

They should've said this is a private tour for the bus and the people on it and not for locals. I think the tourists were Turkish. The tourists are not to blame Georgian Spirit is to blame for letting locals go on what should've been a private party for tourist everything was in Turkish language. The music was loud and in Turkish they didn't even go to Penetang. They just floated out a little bit from Midland and Back. I paid $96.00 for two people. It was just so bad I'm still not over it it was so awful. Please don't go on George Spirit go to Penetanguishine . Hopefully you'll have a better experience and someone can speak English and show you some sights, not just float, listening to a foreign language It shouldn't have any stars, but it won't let me post it unless I give it one star. This was such a horrible experience just awful.

Great hike! We did the loop starting behind the Dorset Heritage Museum. It was a bit steep at some…read moresections but very manageable. There were lots of spots to sit and even have a picnic. There's a small shop at the top of the hill under the tower that has various souvenirs and shirts. We did this on a Sunday in late August and there were a handful of people there also.

We recently did the Presqu'ile National Park & Old Mill Alpacas day trip. We had lots of fun…read moredespite the iffy weather. Our tour guide Charmaine is very organized & friendly. It was so nice that everything was laid out clearly. We knew how much time we had for each activity. Our first stop was to the national park. We were getting intermittent rain alternating with sunshine so it was pretty wet. Also the park is on marshlands so even more wet than normal land! lol. We got dropped off by one of the board walking trails. It's very scenic & beautiful despite the rain. The sun came out at times. So nice to get some fresh air & there were birds, frogs, fish all around. Our next stop was at the Presqu'ile lighthouse, beach & visitor center (all near each other). The beach is small & rocky but it was so nice to be near the water. After the lighthouse we got to wander around the small visitor center. It has two single washrooms, a small history room, & a small gift shop. Next was our lunch stop at the Big Apple. There are around 4 food trucks outside the main building. There's a petting zoo also. Inside the main building there are washrooms, a candy store, baked goods, souvenirs, a burger joint & a bar. I liked the big apple but it would be hard to get there without a car. I liked that we got to pay for our own lunch because that also meant we could get whatever we want. Sometimes the day trips include lunch & has a limited menu especially for people with food intolerances. After lunch we got to go to Old Mill Alpacas. Here we got to feed the alpacas, and walk the alpacas. The owner of the farm also did a quick talk about alpacas. It was very interesting! Because of the rain it was muddy of course so we got dirty but I didn't mind as I was prepared with my waterproof boots. Also short trips informed us of weather conditions in an email before the day trip. After the alpacas we had a 30 mins break for dinner at a highway enroute rest stop. Too bad these enroute places don't have better food options. Anyway short trips has no control over that. Our drop off was on time. Overall we really enjoyed our tour with short trips. We would go on another tour with them for sure. Since we don't drive or have a car this is a really nice way to see parts in Ontario we wouldn't normally be able to see.
