My daughter ended up coming here when she was not having success at a different practice. A friend…read moretold us about this practice, and we could not be happier. She has a chronic problem, so there is no easy fix, but they took the time to really assess the problem and provided exercise to help. Lo and behold, I found myself in need of PT when the practice at my HMO was filled. I asked if I could go to this practice instead, and I am glad I did. They really take the time to understand the "why" of your problem. I appreciate that they do that and not just throw exercises at you. I am very pleased with my therapist, Connor, and already believe I am seeing progress after two weeks.

Now I hear, despite all my best efforts, that I'm not making progress and PT is a waste of my time. This was very devastating news. I was trying to balance PT with recommendations from other health care providers, and it was confusing when the recommendations conflicted, especially about what I should be eating. I feel like there still could be meaningful ways to engage in PT, but now I feel like I'm defective, and it's me as the person who's the waste of time. I thought things were going okay, but the way it ended, especially so abruptly, was extremely upsetting. I'll heal on my own or find someone who can work around my other challenges.

In short, Dr. Shea helped me get back to a point where I could get under the weight again. With her…read moreknowledge and willingness to spend the mental time needed to figure out the problem, I was able to squat and deadlift again (in the short-term) and design a program to continue making gains (in the long-term). I came to Dr. Shea with a nerve-related injury after struggling to self-diagnose and work effectively with a local PT. I'm a powerlifter and was experiencing a strange numbness that would only present itself under heavy loads and at key points in movements. I decided to visit a Chiropractor by recommendation of a PT friend (not the person treating me). I chose this particular practice because I felt that at a self-owned practice, the practitioner is highly encouraged to provide the utmost attention to detail -- and I was right. Unlike other visible injuries, we're constrained by what I choose to convey as a patient and Dr. Shea's ability to 'feel' out potential problem areas. I'm beyond grateful of our ability to hypothesize together, test, and focus in on the root cause. Over multiple sessions with her, I was able to get to a place where I was comfortable under light load. Taking my responsibility to test movements and collect information allowed us to hone in on where the true underlying cause existed. We now have a good idea of which nerve is being compressed, where in the squat and deadlift movements is it being agitated, and how/why is my movement causing the unintended compression. Through that, I'm now back to the gainz with a plan to correct deficiencies and enter competition stronger than before. Thank you, Dr. Shea.

Since seeing Alexa, these incidents have become infrequent and overall my body feels much more in harmony. Recently I had a little girl, and at her 6mo appointment her pediatrician noticed she had slight right head tilt/torticullis. At my next appt with Dr. Shea I asked her about this and she offered to assess her! She did some gentle massage and offered me some exercises I could do at home with Porter to help loosen her muscles up. This was so wonderful and unexpected. I'm so thankful to be a patient of such a kind and talented chiropractor!

Awesome! I spent a little over a week on vacation and in between the flights and all the sitting I…read moredeveloped a pinch in my back. Thinking It'd go away it turned into muscle soreness from compensating from sitting at work. This made me avoid the gym, which was terrible, mental and physically. I had been going to another chiropractor off and on and was recommended by my chiro to go to Dr. Jason Mavor who's local to me. I called for an appointment and got my registrations emailed to me for so I could fill them before hand. I even got an appointment same day I called! Stopping in the office I was quickly greeted and got right into the adjustment. Dr. Mavor (prefers to go by Jason) talked with me first about my concerns and I told him what was going on. And even about my hip injury from before that had kept me from squatting deep for months and he went to work. The adjustment was excellent. It was the type of adjustment that you break a flash sweat because the target areas are getting worked. My back my shoulder my hip all took adjustments! He even showed me how to do some exercises to help loosen and prepare for my workouts. 3 days later I was back in the gym. I just got my 2nd adjustment and he said I'm recovering extremely fast. I feel great, better than I have in awhile and I really thank Jason for it.

I also recently tore a muscle in my forearm. After multiple visits to my PCP and PT with no results, I visited Dr. Mavor. I wish I had met him sooner as my 6 weeks of PCP and PT visits let me still hurt and feeling hopeless about my recovery. I *highly* recommend Dr. Mavor. I am a serious athlete and Dr. Mavor helped me to transition back to training (as opposed to the complete rest my doc and PT had suggested). His Graston technique work eased my arm pain after just two sessions, so that I could ease back into my workouts. Dr. Mavor is very available by phone and in-person. Furthermore he will take the time to actually explain what is happening in your soft tissues, what is happening in your movement, and what you can do to get better. If you are an injured athlete, get to Mavor Chiro NOW!
