Having received excellent Chiropractor care over the past 40 years, finding the "correct" Chiropractor services is always a top priority of mine. Imagine my delight in being truly blessed to have found the outstanding services of the "Schelin Family Chiropractic" on Lyons Road in Coconut Creek, FL. From the first call to make enquires I was met with the charming voice of the Office Manage who immediately put me at ease and welcomed me to the area and set me up with a fast appointment. The moment I walked through the door I was treated as a family member. The atmosphere was dynamic, the lovely voice that had put me at ease belonged to Mrs. Schelin. Doctor Schelin did an extensive exam and asked all the right questions. Over the past few months, I have received amazing care, and met other wonderful clients. The best description I can give for this remarkable office is that it feels like your corner "Cheers" where everyone knows your name. When I walked in, the pain in my lower back was extreme. With adjustments and exercise I am now able to use my exercise equipment once again. There are also amazing free classes that are offered to all clients at no charge every week for one's health and well-being. As long as I live in this area this will always be my "to go place" for not only all my chiropractor services, but for my "new family" of health and well-being. The staff immediately acknowledged my completion of the packet and thanked me with a friendly note regarding seeing me soon as a New Patient. My concerns were lower back and neck pain, I came in with MRIs which both Chiros took the time to review before any actual adjustments took place. I was asked to return and when I did the beyond welcoming staff educated me on my plan which I then met with one of the Chiros to complete the plan of action to get me back in working order as working from home during the pandemic caused stiffness along with my neck and back pain. Regarding payment, insurance is accepted but mine was out of network so I chose one of the offered packages. They accept Care credit so that was also a plus for me. I've been seeing these Amazing Chiros for a couple months now three times a week and am beyond pleased with my progress. I have even started to attempt gym time since I am able to move with less pain and more ease. After just my second visit, the bulk of my symptoms were gone. I came in for visits twice a week for several months and so I also got to know their amazing staff - Alexis & Carolyn. They all took great care of me. The commute from home was too long so they even found me a chiropractic referral so I could continue my care long-term. 2022 was a rough year medically and I am eternally grateful for this chiropractic team. I wanted treatment on both my foot and my lower back, so I paid an additional $49 for the second body part, bringing my total to about $100. I did feel some relief from the treatment. During my first visit, the doctor explained that if I wanted to continue with chiropractic adjustments outside of a treatment plan, the cost would be $250 per session. I explained that I could not commit to a treatment plan without first discussing it with my husband. I was told I should return in about a week for continued treatment, so I scheduled my follow-up appointment. When I came back for my second visit, the doctor presented me with a treatment plan that included a package of $2,500 for eight sessions. I explained that I needed time to consider that option. What was disappointing was that, right before my second shockwave therapy session was about to begin, I was informed that the price had now doubled because the first visit was only an introductory special. This was not communicated when I scheduled the appointment or when I arrived. I was under the impression that the pricing I paid during my first visit would be the cost going forward, especially since I was receiving treatment on two body areas. No new X-rays were being performed, and the treatment itself had not changed, so I was surprised by such a significant price increase with no prior notice. While I did experience some relief from the treatment, I felt the pricing was not transparent and that the ongoing costs were not realistic for the average self-pay patient. Paying $200 for shockwave therapy and $250 for adjustments would make continued care financially unrealistic for many people. Patients deserve clear pricing upfront so they can make informed decisions about their healthcare. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this office.
