I figured it would be pretty simple, but 18 hrs and a toner cartridge later, I could barely scrape together enough info to fill out my extension, which sucked since I really wanted my stimulus check sooner than later. Did I mention I was unemployed at the time? Tail between my legs, I headed for Cyndie based on some random yellow pages reviews. Even though I had attempted to do them myself *and* had made some incorrect assumptions *and* handed off a mass of jumbled printouts and random scribblings, she was very professional, fast, and super nice. She even caught a little handwritten memo I'd made to myself about an ancient savings account that I had forgotten to tell her about during our initial meeting. Hurrah for being thorough! I thought her fees were on par with other tax prep services (simple filing, renter, not self-employed, MA and federal ~ $160) and was totally worth it considering the time I'd already spent plus the extra fees for e-filing Turbo Tax or H&R Block would have stuck me with ( ~ $80 + HUGE UNCERTAINTY). Plus she answered all my additional questions for free, which other chain services don't do. Anyway, Cyndie really put my mind at ease. I got my refunds back within 2 weeks and my stimulus check came on time in the mail the other week as if I had never filed an extension. Awesome. I'm giving her a high-five next time I see her.

After an initial meeting with Olga Sevidova that went well, I sent her all my documents and a request for an additional document to be filed that went unanswered. She requested a meeting, then failed to confirm the meeting date/time and sent a zoom invite 3 minutes prior to the meeting (which I of course missed) and said this was their office policy. When we finally met to review the tax return that she had prepared, there were glaring errors right away. Lev Agranovich (the owner) had to step in to make the corrections needed. Instead of taking accountability, Olga then proceeded to bill me for an additional 100$ for the extra form she claimed I had asked for last minute, when in our documentation I had requested it a month earlier with no transparency on extra cost. She became rude, defensive, and unprofessional in her emails and told me it was my fault because I had missed her virtual meeting (that she had failed to confirm). I finally agreed to make the extra payment to just be done with the process, yet she was unable to provide a final tax document with all the corrected edits, refused to answer my email follow ups and just kept asking for payment. Despite her incompetence, Lev (who was cc'ed on all the communications) did not step in to help mediate the interactions. I have never had a professional interaction with this degree of poor communication and poor product quality, and the inability to provide a final document for review prior to payment. She then proceeded to tell me I would be billed regardless and threatened a collection agency should I not pay for a tax return that I was unable to review, and that had prior mistakes made. I finally had to send AGS Tax group a certified letter documenting the inadequate work and refusal of payment before they finally provided a completed tax return for my review. This was a huge inconvenience and headache with many hours on my end wasted sending them all my documents and I will never be returning here. I have never dealt with this level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability. You should find another place to prepare your tax documents.
