She requested a meeting, then failed to confirm the meeting date/time and sent a zoom invite 3 minutes prior to the meeting (which I of course missed) and said this was their office policy. When we finally met to review the tax return that she had prepared, there were glaring errors right away. Lev Agranovich (the owner) had to step in to make the corrections needed. Instead of taking accountability, Olga then proceeded to bill me for an additional 100$ for the extra form she claimed I had asked for last minute, when in our documentation I had requested it a month earlier with no transparency on extra cost. She became rude, defensive, and unprofessional in her emails and told me it was my fault because I had missed her virtual meeting (that she had failed to confirm). I finally agreed to make the extra payment to just be done with the process, yet she was unable to provide a final tax document with all the corrected edits, refused to answer my email follow ups and just kept asking for payment. Despite her incompetence, Lev (who was cc'ed on all the communications) did not step in to help mediate the interactions. I have never had a professional interaction with this degree of poor communication and poor product quality, and the inability to provide a final document for review prior to payment. She then proceeded to tell me I would be billed regardless and threatened a collection agency should I not pay for a tax return that I was unable to review, and that had prior mistakes made. I finally had to send AGS Tax group a certified letter documenting the inadequate work and refusal of payment before they finally provided a completed tax return for my review. This was a huge inconvenience and headache with many hours on my end wasted sending them all my documents and I will never be returning here. I have never dealt with this level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability. You should find another place to prepare your tax documents.

Determined that the price for a return was reasonable (estimated around $450-$550) plus whatever extra complications. Sent the partner my previous turbo tax file (per request) and then asked two questions regarding my tax situation. This turned into a bit of an exchange over email, even had to send some additional papers. Mind you, this is all going on way before the actual tax return. One question answered, another not, but it did not matter because I figured once the actual tax prep began I can get all the information. Get a bill a few weeks later for $400 for "emails". Yeah, brutal. Turns out that answering two questions and going over some papers will run you four hundred bucks. Naturally, I resisted as that is crazy. So he offered a discount to $300, but that was still too much. I am being charged for emails what people pay for basic tax returns? Mind you at no point whatsoever do you get warned or that you are on the clock. Few months later collector comes knocking, I explain the situation and seemingly everything is quiet. Nope, they sue me in small claims. I figured why not, there is no way this is reasonable. Feels like a giant firm fleecing the small guy. Court will surely rule in my favor.
