If it's not in stock he will save your information and contact you when it arrives. As for the atmosphere of the store, it's well lighted and doesn't overwhelm you with the smell of burning incense. Matt keeps a nice selection of music from most genres playing while you browse. I'll be a regular there as it's the only record store in Johnson City that doesn't try to extort you on the prices and have you shopping in a dungeon with a few candles burning.

I feel it's very common sense to not correct a child when a parent is clearly standing right beside them. If I felt my child was in the wrong and had pointed towards her to be rude I would have 100 percent corrected him. She was clearly the type of person that gets easily offended about every little thing. We were out shopping around for my son's birthday and he loves music and records but instead of getting himself a record with his birthday money, he wanted to pick one out for his barber (because that's the type of heart he has). I had planned on letting him pick out a few records for his birthday there but we left after that. I'd never spend my money at a place where an employee was so rude. I'm not sure if she isn't a kid person or just not a nice person in general but we won't be back and we will also tell others about the unpleasant experience.

It's a shame too, because it's prime real estate for a good independent record store (bring in some RSD releases), but as it stands this is a junkyard with a clerk.

I can very easily see this being the next big antique/vintage store for Johnson City. If she gets a couple vendors with some vintage clothes and some southwestern jewelry perhaps (just something beyond grandmas pearl necklaces and fake glass earrings) whoooo! She'd have it made. Truly loved the reasonably priced WIDE variety of tasteful 70s/80s vinyl. Not your average Goodwill stuff. And all the 70s deco furniture made my heart ache for a house to decorate and the $$ to do so. With a record player at the door playing some Paul Simon, the native rugs on the floor, and the case of 35mm cameras by the register, this place is going somewhere.

Placed a near $200 order for a double vinyl first week of March for a late June anniversary…read morepresent. Took longer than expected to process but arrived mid-April with a printing issue and all four sides of the 2 records were playing ~10-15% faster than the recording, giving high pitch songs. Took nearly 2 months to get a replacement, that fixed the printing issue but delivered 2 identical records with the same sped-up issue. They then proceeded to stop replying to emails and have ghosted me since mid-June, and its now first week of August. Had to resort to a Paypal dispute, which has been a hassle since conveniently for them, its out of the initial 30 day delivery window. Awful experience, ruined what should've been an incredible anniversary present for my wife.
