Wonderful NH company. I ordered several products to be shipped to me for Christmas. All were a hit. Their lip balm is one of my favorites. The Peppermint and also the Orange Spice are so perfect. During New England winters, lip balm is essential. For me, Badger lip balms are long lasting and keep my lips happy and smooth. I also love the Badger Aromatherapy Travel Kit. The kit offers help for stress, headaches, focus and more. I bought the Sleep Balm and it really works. It is lavender & bergamot. I put some of the balm on before bed. The fragrance is soothing and lovely and not overpowering. I have been using it each night and I love it. I first found Badger products in a local NH store. Now I look there and online. I find more to choose from on the Badger website and they often have sales and discounts. The products I ordered for the holidays, arrived quickly and I am thrilled with each Badger product I have tried. They make good gifts and the products are cruelty free, which is very important and I appreciate that so much. I love this company and I will tell all my friends and continue to be a loyal customer. read more
I love Badger products! This family-owned company has been around since '95 by Bill & Katie, who started making these products out of their own kitchen. They offer aromatherapy/skin care/hair care/face care products, bug repellents, lip balms, massage & body oils, balms for muscle and joint pain, products for babies, sunscreens, and soaps. Those who are sensitive to scents, Badger also have unscented items as well! I love the fact that their products are organic (and, yes, even safe enough to eat, but better to use it for your skin :P and the fact that they smell so good! The olive oil that they use comes from southern Spain, and their rose oil comes from Bulgaria - they really scope out to use the best ingredients. The company also prides themselves in being environment-friendly, offers ecology workshops to the community, and supports local farmers :D You can find the products in Wegman's and Whole Foods, as well as other specialty stores, or order it easily online via their website. Just a note: if you do order via their website, you get a free full-sized sample with your order!!! :O If you're ever in NH, be sure to check out their factory store out in Gilsum during the weekday, as you can see all the products that they offer and even sample them out, too! They also have a building tour that's available Tuesday through Fridays, 9-11AM (by appointment only). +organic products for skin/hair +family-owned company :D +building tours offered Tues-Fri, 9-11AM (by appointment) +free, full-sized item with every order! :D read more
Three cheers for Badgers - Hip Hip Hooray!!! Badger products are great. They are contain natural ingredients to cure what ails you. I've been using them for several years now. They make different balms to help you out in so many ways! They are a family owned company and try to use organic ingredients to make their products. My most recent purchase was their anti-bug balm for a camping trip. I was one of the only people to not get bitten by mosquitos! I could watch them hover above my arm and they never landed! Another Badger Sucess! Another recent success was their Sore Joint Rub. I'd had a huge knot in my shoulder for weeks and my whole shoulder ached. I rubbed some in, knot all gone! It also worked great on my sore elbow. All the products I've used have worked and worked well. I've let other skeptical people use them and they have been amazed! My 5 year old nephew on a trip couldn't fall asleep, I put some Sleep Balm off him and he was nodding off in no time! In fact, over a year later he remembers it, and he won't let me near him with my tin! Here is a list of other products I like as well. Sleep Balm Sleep Soap Body Butter Foot Balm Healing Balm Headache Soother Stress Soother Lip Balm Cocoa Butter lip balm They have a store finder on their website http://www.badgerbalm.com/storelocator.aspx and also a list of places to mail order them. They are harder to find on the west coast, but well worth tracking down. Run out and get a Badger today!! read more
Toured the factory before the new year. Lovely people who care about their products, people and the environment. I have used nearly every product they sell. My favorites are the aromatherapy sticks and the rose facial oils. My husband is looking forward to trying the men's line for his formidable beard. If you go to the factory you can buy seconds for a greatly discounted price. Love that are their products are food grade, organic and the eo's they use smell amazing! Highly recommend Badger!! read more
Enjoyed the tour of the factory. All the staff were super friendly. Had an opportunity to buy seconds of many of their products had a discounted rate. Beautiful gardens outside to explore. read more
The only "complaint" I have about their cocoa butter lip balms is they always make me hungry! I had to switch back to a less aromatic brand because I couldn't handle the perpetual chocolate smell. Too much of a good thing? read more

Specialties
Badger is a family-owned & family-friendly company located in rural Gilsum, New Hampshire. We specialize in USDA certified organic and natural body care, and safe mineral sunscreens. We use organic and fairly traded plant extracts, oils, butters and beeswax to create healing balms, lip balms, hair oil, man care, baby care, oil cleansers, and more! Our products harness the powers of aromatherapy, vitamin rich oils, essential oils, and minerals to smooth your skin and soothe your mind. Our Philosophy of Formulation is simple: make products for people we love, and then share them with the world. Almost all of Badger products are made here in our 23,000 sq. ft. environmentally-friendly facility. If you come for a tour, you'll be amazed at how wonderful it smells - even when we're making Anti-Bug Spray! Enjoy a 15% discount in our factory store, or browse our seconds bin for a whopping 50% off! Our facility also features a biodynamic garden, and workshops that range from soapmaking to mushroom foraging. We take pride in the quality of our ingredients. Our certified organic extra virgin olive oil comes from a single estate in Southern Spain, and is used by Michelin Star chefs. And we eat the very same olive oil we put in our products - every day our in-house cook provides all Badger employees a free, home-cooked organic lunch. But that's not all - many of us purchase it to use in our home kitchens, and it is available in our factory store.
History
Established in 1995.
Back in 1994, Bill Whyte was a carpenter working outside during the harsh New England winters. Many carpenters, including Bill, developed severe cracks in their hands that would bleed after a hard day of work out in the cold. Bill says, "My fingers were so bad, I started wrapping my hands at night in olive oil-soaked socks covered in plastic bags!" Bill's wife Katie, whose sleep was being interrupted by perpetually crinkling bags said "That's pathetic, Bill - you can do better than that." She was right! That night Bill dreamed of a cure for his winter chapped hands, and in the morning he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil in a pot on his kitchen stove. He then tried and experimented with the formula. His fingers were soon healed, and a business was born. in 1995 Bill and Katie started making Badger Balm in the kitchen of their home with the support and help of their daughters Mia, Emily, and Rebecca. Now, 20 years later, Badger is a thriving business making a difference in the world.
Meet the Business Owner: Badger Bill W.
When I was a kid I checked out the fragrance of every stray blossom, fruit, leaf and herb I came across. When I was 12 we visited Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts, and a young woman guided me about the colonial herb gardens and explained both the medicinal and aesthetic properties of each herb. I fell in love with both the guide and the herbs that day. Now, so many years later I get to experience some of the finest essential oils and herbal extracts the world has to offer. Badger's been my lifework for the past 20 years. Everyday I'm around wonderful people and fragrant herbs. We've had full contact badminton games, daily lunch together, opportunities to explore and challenges to transcend. It doesn't get much better than this! And now I have my wife, two of my daughters and my son-in-law working here and my new super-cute granddaughter Maya is here every day also. It's been so much fun.
